I called here on a whim looking for someone to do an up do fit a mid-century modern party I was going to attend. When I called, Stephanie sounded excited about the theme. I arrived with several photo examples of the types of styles, Stephanie picked one of the more challenging ones and got to work. She totally nailed it and her work got many compliments at the party. Stephanie is the best!!!!! She was able to squeeze my son in for a haircut same day I called. The Salon is nice and clean and enough room for a stroller. They have a small kids table with puzzles and some toys to keep your child entertained while parents or other siblings are getting their haircut. Which definitely worked for my daughter because I did not have to worry about her causing trouble while I am trying to hold down my son during his haircut. As for the haircut part for my son... He is autistic so he is very sensitive to noise and people. He can get freaked out by certain things. I usually have to hold him down for his haircut and and during the whole time he would be crying his head off. But Stephanie slowly started talking to him offer him candy, showing him what she was going to do. Her voice was so soothing for him and even for me it made me feel less stressed out for his haircut. She took her time making sure everything was nice and clean and her machines were so quiet that he didn't even cry which was amazing cuz my son always cries for his haircut. I will be definitely making her my go-to person for my son's haircuts even for my own maybe one day she does lots of women's hairstyles of coloring and cuts so I will probably in the future try her out. Since I was arrived in the US 1998 she's the ONE who does my haircut, hair colors, highlights and permed as well. And she know what i want and i let her to do style my hair. I usually dread having to take my son to get his haircut because I always end up having to look for a new hair salon since every other place I've took him to messes up his hair cut. I am glad to say the search is finally over. I have found the place I will be taking him to from now on. His hair has never looked so great with a fresh cut. 11/19/2020 Yesterday, my five y.o. son had his first haircut with Stephanie. The experience was perfect. We arrived early and were brought in to an immaculate but warm environment. This was the first time my son didn't insist on sitting on my lap for a haircut, Stephanie knows how to work with kids. Also, she's FAST. It took awhile, but my son quickly warmed up to Stephanie and even joked with her. We will definitely be back. read more

At another salon, our two year old screamed throughout the appointment. With Stephanie, he agreed to sit in the chair by himself and was calm and relaxed throughout his haircut. He even told us the "haircut was fun!" afterwards. That's more than enough for 5 stars! read more

I've been going to Stephanie ever since I was a little girl because my mom used to see her mom for hair cuts! My hair is thick and poofy (kind of like a lion's mane after brushing it out), but it made me self-conscious as a child. & because I've always trusted Stephanie, I bring my little ones here now! My son isn't a fan of hair cuts and I wanted him to have a clean cut for his first day of kindergarten. Even though he cried in the beginning and didn't wanna sit on the chair, Stephanie was so kind and patient - she talked him through everything and he sat through the whole session. (I think they became good friends, lol.) I recommend calling first, to schedule an appointment. I believe it's cash only. The salon is nicely decorated, but I love that there's an area for kids to play. It's definitely a family friendly location, and I'll always go back. read more

I love bringing my son here to get his hair cut. Stephanie is very wonderful and patient. My sons hair cuts end up great each time even with all his squirming. We still have to hold him down to help with the squirming since he is so sensitive to the tickling of the clippers, but Stephanie gets the hair cut done really quick to limit how long he gets tickled by the clippers. I went to cut my daughter's hair (3 years old) and my son's hair (1.5 years old). Savannah did a great job on both of them, especially on my son who is scared to have his hair cut. Been getting my hair cut by Stephanie for 4 years now and I'm still coming back! Other salons cost an arm and a leg for my cut but Dimond Hair Salon is affordable and the stylists are awesome. It's not a super fancy salon, just a regular hair salon, but I don't care about ambiance as long as they cut my hair great every single time and that's what I get here. Recently moved to the Eastbay and needed to find a new place to cut my hair. They are hands down the best salon I've ever been to! You can really see the attention to detail that they put in. For a guy, I'm used to short and quick buzz cuts with only clippers that take no more than 10 minutes. I guess I never really knew what a good haircut was until I came here.
