Highway Marine's reviews look great at first glance, but most are from people thrilled to tow…read morebrand-new boats off the lot. Those reviews hide a service department that's chaotic, careless, and defensive. After my experience, I'd call them the Jiffy Lube of boat service- fast, sloppy, and all about volume, not quality. (No disrespect to Jiffy Lube- a quick-turn model works for their services, not for marine service). We own an 18-ft Godfrey pontoon. On Oct 11, 2025 I dropped it off for five things: raise the trailer height (fenders too close to tires), fix a misaligned bimini top, repair the prop, winterize the Yamaha outboard, and do a full interior/exterior detail. They confirmed twice (by phone and again at drop-off) that they could handle the trailer work. It's even listed on my repair order (Photo 1). You could make a drinking game out of how many times they tell you how busy they are. I told them I understood it was a busy time of the year and to take their time. I heard nothing for two-and-a-half weeks until Oct 28, when they finally called about the propeller only. I approved a new prop and a trim-tab. When I asked about the trailer, they said they hadn't gotten to it yet- fair enough. Then, on Nov 6 at 8:49 AM, I suddenly got a call: "Your boat's ready for pickup." I asked about the trailer- "We're too busy." I asked if they could get it back in, as this was really the only reason I took it to them. Everything else was simple service I could have done myself, but I do not have a way to float the boat off of the trailer at home. They said they would take care of it. Fifteen minutes later they called back to say the manager told them they were too busy and wouldn't take it back in. The main reason I brought it there was simply ignored. When I arrived Nov 8, I expected at least a clean, detailed boat for the $495 charge. What I found was unbelievable: a boat dirtier than when I dropped it off, dirt outlines from old registration letters, water marks on the pontoons, and an interior still full of debris and stains (Photo 2,3,4,5,6,7). One cup-holder ring was missing that was not before (Photo 8). Even an employee quietly admitted it did not appear to have been detailed. Inside, the manager showed me a slip of paper that said "DONE" as proof it was cleaned. When I disagreed, he started getting defensive, saying that I "didn't understand boat detailing", "it's not like auto detailing" and they were "too busy." He finally dropped the charge to $180 for "interior only." By this point I was annoyed and let him know most of my frustration was from the fact that I expected all the other work to be completed properly, since they ignored my main concern with the trailer. I told the manager I could have done all the other things at home myself- I had them do it simply because it was there. His response was crazy- looks at me and yells "then why didn't you?!" He assured the interior was done and I trusted him. Only once home I realized the interior wasn't detailed either. I also checked the bimini top- they drilled new holes, but it still doesn't align correctly (Photo 9,10) and now has a tear in the fabric (Photo 11). Then I saw a $100 charge for two plastic clips I was never called about. The invoice shows "approved" beside every item, yet the only call I received was about the prop. Those clips cost $12.59 each on Amazon (I keep extras), and mine weren't broken when I dropped it off. So here's the reality: they ignored the main repair, did unauthorized work (still not fixed), returned my boat dirtier, damaged the bimini, and the manager was completely out of line and somehow gave a total of $1,662.85. Everything here is backed by photos and time-stamped records. Other Photos: Does not appear anything was greased (Photo 12), Details of work performed (Photo 13,14). For a business representing a brand like Godfrey, this is embarrassing. Highway Marine's service team prioritizes quick oil changes and seasonal revenue over craftsmanship or honesty. If you care about your boat, your time, or respect- go elsewhere.

After negotiating a boat price, I was later told that they made a mistake and left out the trailer. The trailer was under the boat in the ad with the price. Avoid this dealership.

I was taking my little 15 foot Whaler from Seaside Park out to Long Island to have the interior shot with Line-X. I didn't want to be they guy with a boat and broken down trailer on the George Washington Bridge, so I replaced the springs. A few weeks ago, taking the boat back to the ramp, 2 of the 3 leaves broke on the left side. I took it back to the dealer and was told sorry they are out of warranty. I called Load Rite, spoke to the warranty manager, after a little confusion, he agreed not only to replace the broken spring, but both springs and all associated hardware. He said "I can't say we've never had a broken leaf like you're describing, but it is pretty rare and I really want to get those springs back to the factory and see what caused the failure." I couldn't be more happy with the customer service Load Rite has provided, and thought they deserved kudos in a public forum. Two thumbs up for Load Rite

Do NOT use load rite trailers!…read more I am an Aussie customer who purchased and imported a new Aus-spec trailer. But beware... It looks like the local buyers have the same issues! From new it was missing parts, required a full rewire, had damaged and improperly installed brake lines that dumped all fluid on the road while towing, bunks covered with a cheap carpet that melted and damaged my brad new hull, shit quality components, shit attention to detail, and a lack of corrosion protection between dissimilar metals. I have plenty of photos of all of this if you'd like to see. All of this and yet it has a passed quality control sticker on it! Classic. Load rite is aware of the above issues and has been utterly hopeless at even attempting to resolve such issues... Their customer service strategy is to just ignore emails. Guarantee of good workmanship and warranty of such work isn't a thing with these guys. Not only do they build a crap product, but they also have no customer service too! After over a year worth of opportunity to resolve the issues, I've come to unfortunately write this review to prevent others from going through what I did. Steer clear, plenty of other great trailer builders out there... These guys aren't one of them!

Went to pick up the title for my boat trailer, the notary was late, Andy literally ran down the road to get the notary signature so I could get to the motor vehicle administration, in Frederick, on time! 2. My boat conked out in the middle of Lake Marburg. I called F&S and they talked me through troubleshooting the motor. That didn't work so Bob came out, hooked up my boat to his boat, towed me to shore, put my boat on my trailer, called his staff too alert them of me coming in for emergency service, pulled in the lot and before I could even get out of the car people were on the back of the boat trying to fix it. 3. Many times I have asked if I needed something that was suggested that I should purchase. Bob has said that I can sell you that but you don't need it! THEY ARE HONEST PEOPLE!!! 4. You are a person to them not a number. They take the time to get to know you!

The outboard was only a 50 however, but with only 2 adults and 2 children on board it wasn't terribly underpowered. Pricing was competitive for the area. The marina was a bit tight but nothing I haven't seen before. There is very little traffic around their cove which makes for a quick departure and docking. I like that it's at the end of the lake which gives you an opportunity to do a full stretch without a lot of backtracking. The store was fully stocked with bait and tackle. This was one of the best boat rental experiences I've had in years and I would absolutely use them again.

I like to go for the fishing boat with motor because I don't want to paddle or pay too much but there are different options depending on what your doing. I would have preferred to make a reservation but the rentals are on first come, first serve basis so make sure you get there early. I wasn't sure how long I wanted the boat for so they let me book 2 hours and then settle up when I got back. I was a little nervous because the boat didn't tell me how deep the water was beneath me, but we didn't get stuck so it's all good. I was happy I brought my radio. I did get lost a little but was able to pull up a map on my phone. They have a lot of fishing equipment for you to buy as well. I had to take a "safety course" to be able to rent the boat but it didn't take long and wasn't a big deal. They didn't even give me a hard time about crashing into the wall on my way out. The steering took a little to get used to, especially in reverse. The first time I was here, I dropped the anchor in the water but it wasn't tied to the boat so it just dropped to the bottom.
