Good food and service!! Diner type of ambience; casual and friendly! Took the 25 minute drive from interstate to eat breakfast and had the buffet. Daughter was happy she had pancakes.

Food was hot and fresh, very good flavor, clean restaurant, friendly staff. Man not one bad thing I can say about this place. If you are traveling on 24 through Fairbury, definitely stop! Their pies are delish too!!!

Waitress was rude, and not well trained. Food was okay. Hopefully they can get better as they get more experience.

We also order some food to go and a buffet to go. We had 2 buffets in house. The strawberries were bomb! The mash taters and gray was yummy! The chicken noddles was so tasty (homemade too) loved the beef! Biscuits were on key. Will definitely be coming here again next time we blow on threw.

Ok. I have been to a few buffets and you have a lot of kinda warm food and not too cold stuff. Well…read morethe Country Farmhouse gets it right!! The hot items were hot. Not warm. But hot !! A couple kinds of French toast. Scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, bacon, ham, corned beef hash, lots of potato casseroles, waffles, two kids of French toast...it just goes on and on. And then you have a full salad area with fresh fruit !! Oh and did I mention an entire buffet of pastries? Donuts, cinnamon rolls, danishes, muffins. It just kept going !!! Everything was fresh and replenished and delicious. The only thing I'd pass on was the Bloody Mary bar. Not a lot of stuffs. Cold chicken nuggets, bacon, green olives, some sad pickle spears, lemon wedges, celery, kielbasa, that was pretty much it. Would Have like to have seen cheese cubes or maybe some shrimp. But it was not bad, just nothing to write home about. All in all for 20.00 a person for food (I don't remember what the bloody bar was) it was a good deal. And they do it daily, not just on the weekends!!!

This buffet is seriously lacking, but from what I understand, there aren't a lot of dining options…read morein the area. I would've liked to get a salad, but they only had iceberg lettuce and due to it's lack of nutritional value I thought that to be a waste of space in my stomach. The only other veggie options I saw were overcooked green beans (limp and watery) and broccoli chicken or pepper chicken. All veggies come sauced and with chicken, apparently! What I did get onto my plate was hit or miss. The trend seemed to be that the Asian options were the best. The general tso's, sweet n' sour and teriyaki chicken were good. The teriyaki had a few dry pieces, but I think they just weren't that fresh. The same with the fried shrimp. It was really hard and tasted old. The egg roll was mushy and disappointing, though. The macaroni and cheese was disgusting. The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted instant, but I have a soft spot for instant potatoes! A little salt and pepper and they were just fine. I had two helpings. I managed to find some plain ole steamed cauliflower that I paired with the clarified butter meant for the crab legs that were on special for Father's Day. The staff were nice and kept our plates cleared, but a refill of my soda was hard to come by. They do offer a 10% discount for seniors over the age of 60, which is nice. We finished off the meal with ice cream, served in individual cups. They also offered chocolate chip and mint chocolate chip that you scoop yourself... definitely not the most sanitary.

Very large food selection and the food looks very good. Dry large salad bar and dessert bar too. Plenty of seating. The only drawback is the pricing is a little unclear so check out pricing to make sure you're ok with it.

Pontiac, Illinois has quite a lot of Route 66 information. Museums, car museum and a quaint town…read moresquare. We walked from the car museum to Edinger's Filling Station for lunch. We couldn't have picked a better spot. We were seated immediately and notice the place was filled with mainly locals. Our server stopped by right away to take our drink order and ask us if we had any questions. She was so nice, so friendly, offered great recommendations and was fun to talk to. Mr. Bee ordered the Monte Cristo Wrap and I tried the house made veggie burger. The food came out quickly and was nice and hot. The Monte Cristo Wrap was really quite good and had a lot of nice flavors and was seasoned well. My veggie burger was different but delicious. It was also seasoned well and I managed to eat every last bite and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered a side of Fried Mac and Cheese and it too was very different than what you would expect. The mac and cheese is not shaped into balls, battered and fried. They take their mac and cheese and smash it down on the grill to cook it. So good. It had lots of crispy bits on it. The food was fresh and really well cooked. The place is like an old fashioned diner and friendly service with a smile. The atmosphere was fun, and everyone seemed friendly and were enjoying their meals. We were full, but when our server came by and said we have fresh made pies, Mr. Bee jumped on that bandwagon. We got a piece of coconut cream pie to go. We stopped in the park in the middle of the square where there are a few benches and picnic tables. We enjoyed our pie, it was scrumptious while enjoying the beautiful sunny day.
