We stopped for lunch & saw many locals eating here. The "filling station" vibe was fun! They have an extensive menu plus daily specials. We started with onion rings-very crispy & light. Then I had chicken pot pie. It had lots of veggies & white meat chicken topped with a layer of crust. It came out lukewarm, but was good. My husband had a Patty Melt & fries. He liked his meal, but isn't sure if it was on rye bread or not. We shared a side of fried Mac & cheese -just for fun. It had little onions in it, but was pretty dry without a lot of taste. Many flavors of pie were available on our visit, but they'd just sold the last slice of strawberry, unfortunately. I had coconut & my hubby had chocolate. They were smooth & creamy. Nice ending to our meal, for sure. Our server was pleasant & checked on us periodically. -not too much or too little. Check out the bathrooms! So cute & staying with the filling station theme with decor.

The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious, (we actually came in a second time this week so I could get the photo since we devoured the meal the first time we were here) definitely get a side of Mac and Cheese, its fantastic!

This place is charming, clean, with wonderful staff. The building has a Rt. 66 vibe. Their tasty Caesar salad is unique with a beautiful presentation and fresh ingredients. My spouse got the Honolulu Honey a sandwich with ham, provolone and a brown sugar glaze. He enjoyed the Mac and Cheese. YOU MUST VISIT THIS PLACE when you visit Pontiac, IL.

I stopped here for breakfast while I was in town because I like to go where the locals go for breakfast. The place looks fresh and clean and mostly full at 8:30 on a Monday morning which is a nice sign and it completely filled up while I was there. The menu is no Greek phone book kind and actually small with the basics so I did my usual meat and eggs breakfast. I ordered the two eggs with sausage and hash browns with toast. My breakfast plate looked pretty good and just a great way to wind down my mini road trip. The eggs tasted fresh and perfect sunny side up. The sausage was large and looked home made that was tasty and not bland at all, everything a breakfast sausage should taste like. The hash browns were absolutely perfect with that crispy golden crust and the pillow soft potato on the inside. The sourdough toast was was the good kind with that dense bread and the nice chew, sourdough toast makes the perfect breakfast in my opinion. WOW they do a great American breakfast and I can see why they were completely full, too bad I may never get back there again because I was on a road trip. Thank you for having me and nice job.

This place is a hidden gem (literally a hidden gem; hard to find!) We loved the atmosphere and decorations. Overall, Great food and service. Best of all, the price couldn't be beat. We had breakfast for 4 people (coffees included) for under $40. We'll be back. I highly recommend this place if you want good food and/or like saving money

I was looking and looking for almost a week and I found NOTHING else like this restaurant in Pontiac! This is a great slice of America and I don't think I've had such a cool eating experience. I sat at the counter and had my cup of joe and was hosted by the coolest people. They all smiled and looked happy with their jobs and seemed like they knew a lot of their customers. The other patrons were also super friendly and cool to make small talk with as well. The food was super awesome! I came to Pontiac Illinois to be introduced to something I've never experienced before... cheese balls. Fresh cheese balls. Similar to those orange ones you can buy in a big ol 5 gallon bucket, but fresh fried and with dipping sauce! I didn't know this exists!!! I've had mozzarella sticks, sure... but real cheese balls?!? I became a lil teary eyed and put my hand over my heart and sang the star spangled banner to myself. Served with ranch (and the rockets red glare)... melty center (the bombs bursting in aiiir!)... a fist full all to myself (gave proof through the night)... crispy golden on the outside (that our flag was stiiiiil therrrrre)!!!!!! I ordered a full order of biscuits n gravy which came out HUGE with hash browns! An order of mac n cheese which was so creamy! And the appetizer cheese balls. That was Day 1. I returned a few days later for a burger. It was a stare down like in the old west. Me vs the sweet kind waitress. A battle of wills. I told her... I want this pretzel burger... she said okay with a smile. I told her... I want an egg on it... over easy... she said okay with a smile... I said I want my side of fries smothered ridiculously in delicious extras like cheese and bacon and other madness... she said okay with a smile... that's it. It was pretty anti climactic between us. She was super chill and easy going. She was of the same understanding that we're in America where I can have eggs in my pretzel burger! And I can have bacon and stuff in my fries! And fried cheese ball things before my actual meal! It was delicious and my neighbors were intrigued and wanted to see whether I was gonna take a bite out of that monstrous burger or if it might bite back. Well... it's me writing this review, so you know who claimed victory this cool Illinois spring day. Eat here. It's great company, good food, and good times. Leave a smile and a tip.

This restaurant is in downtown Pontiac, which is a short drive off I55. The place is designed like an old time diner and the food matches the 1860's. They offer many different food options, I had a burger and my guest had a patty melt both were ok.

    Nice place

Lots of TVs tuned into various games. You can get pretty strong drinks and food that's better than it looks. Certainly there's a greasy feeling about it. It's not exactly the cleanest or nicest but it's better than a whole lot of other places in town to go to. This mostly gets crowded on weekends. Actually it's never too crowded. There's happy hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It's about $7 for a basic cocktail. Whiskey and whatever. It's about $7 for most appetizers. The Giant Pretzel is great for sharing. Comes with a beer cheese or something else. The rest of the menu includes things like fish sandwiches. Good place to watch games. It's one of the few places around here that's open on Sundays. That makes sense because races are usually on the weekends.

I heard some good things about the pizza they serve so I figured I would give it a shot for myself. I placed a carry out order over the phone and was told it would be 20 minutes. The place wasn't that busy when I arrived, and it looked just like I remembered. There were two employees working and I spoke with both. They were both very friendly and my pizza was ready as promised. The crust was about par for the course around here. Not much taste outside of flour. The sauce was decent, and the toppings were plentiful. The cheese is the type mozzarella that turns a bit rubbery, but I must admit, I like that. All in all, I enjoyed the pizza, and the service was friendly. Was it my favorite pizza in Pontiac? No. But, I wouldn't hesitate to come back.
