All this plus a large bowl of soup (or salad) were included in the $17 t-bone lunch.

I'm surprised by the low reviews for this place. I've eaten here multiple times in the last year and consider it 4-5 stars each time for variety, quality, and service. "Family" in a restaurant name means "comfort food" and "inexpensive." Comfort food means hearty and filling, not usually healthy or adventurous. So, "family" sets my expectations when I enter a place like this. My t-bone meal for $17 could have fed two economically. Though the medium rare request came out rare the meat was still flavorful. Choice of two sides and choice of salad or a (large) bowl of soup, plus a slab of home made bread were all included. The mashed potato consistency was more like a baked potato with gravy, which was odd. But that's the thing about family--I may eat your family's recipe but prefer my own. And besides, where else are you going to get a large t-bone and that many sides for $17?

Wow. What an outstanding find. On our way back from Springfield to Chicago and needed a late lunch. This place is down home good cooking. The portions are huge. All dinners cone with a trip to the salad bar. It was plentiful and the soups were homemade. I got the fries chicken dinner with all white meat. It was awesome. Not greasy, crispy skin, very juicy and super tender. Tge others in my party got beef ravioli and chicken parmesan. The chicken parm was not breaded but still great. The pies are all homemade and the staff was delightful. Worth a stop if you're local or from outta town.

Bloody and Raw on the inside! Glad we cut into the fried chicken first.

This makes sense because they only brew a few of their own beers and keep it simple. Cool place that's fun for the entire family. It's got something to please everyone it seems. The worst thing is the limited hours though. Brewery is only open in the evenings mostly and other times is often closed. This also isn't much of a brewery as you pour everything yourself. It's one of those places that gives you a card. Then you insert it into the slots to get the beers pouring. It's about 50 cents or so an ounce. The only one from this brewery was the Fresh Hope, which is a blonde ale that's crisp and smooth. Food is lacking. There's another vendor that has pizza. Good place as far as around here for entertainment. It's one of the vendors and is one of the best places around for groups and parties. The brewery is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Pizza was good, the chicken chunks were decent. What gave it four stars was the fact that you could go up to a tap, you get this white card before beforehand like a library card and they swipe your debit/credit card and then you walk around and put the white card up and tap your beer. The interesting thing about it was after you close your tap it puts your name on and how many ounces of beer you poured. I was really impressed considering I'm out in the middle of nowhere and they have better technology than what's around my house. Pretty impressive. They had a blueberry wheat beer which came from Keg Grove that the spouse & I enjoyed. After your done, you take ur white card, go to cashier and close out ur tab. The wedding reception was fun and I would go back . Bathrooms were reasonably clean and parking was good.

She was raving about how good the food was and I said ok ok it can't be THAT amazing... she was right! This establishment doesn't take reservations, they do a waiting list. And when we woke up my daughter put us on the list and we were 189th!!! I said welp- we may need to have a back up plan because we're never gonna get in! But sure enough by the time we got dressed and ready and arrived, it worked out seamlessly and we walked straight in and to our table! I don't recall ever witnessing such a highly efficient, AND friendly team at a restaurant in my life. I was truly amazed that we made our way thru the waitlist, and despite it being an extremely busy day on a holiday, it was not at all chaotic. They had a system, and everyone knew their assignments! We were seated in a nice sunny booth for our meal. A server who wasn't even our main server came over to say hello and wish me a happy Mother's Day and offered to take our picture!! So sweet!!! Now to the food!!! Oh my goodness. I literally have not stopped thinking about this veggie skillet since Mother's Day!!!! The combinations!!! So they had sweet potato tater tots, mushrooms, spinach, eggs, pumpkin seeds, feta and dried cranberries!!!! A party in my mouth!!!! That combination was SO delicious!! Major kudos to the chef who put that on the menu! My daughter had the Tuscan omelette which had chicken sausage, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, & feta cheese. She said hers was amazing too!! Outstanding meal! I live in Evanston, IL and I'm telling you this brunch was so good I'm planning a trip back to go visit this place again!!! So yummy! And the staff was handing out single roses to all the moms on Mother's Day! How sweet was that!! And how thoughtful of them even on a CRAZY busy day!! Shouts out to the entire team there! Yall are doing a wonderful job! Keep it up!!

We couldn't have picked a better spot. We were seated immediately and notice the place was filled with mainly locals. Our server stopped by right away to take our drink order and ask us if we had any questions. She was so nice, so friendly, offered great recommendations and was fun to talk to. Mr. Bee ordered the Monte Cristo Wrap and I tried the house made veggie burger. The food came out quickly and was nice and hot. The Monte Cristo Wrap was really quite good and had a lot of nice flavors and was seasoned well. My veggie burger was different but delicious. It was also seasoned well and I managed to eat every last bite and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered a side of Fried Mac and Cheese and it too was very different than what you would expect. The mac and cheese is not shaped into balls, battered and fried. They take their mac and cheese and smash it down on the grill to cook it. So good. It had lots of crispy bits on it. The food was fresh and really well cooked. The place is like an old fashioned diner and friendly service with a smile. The atmosphere was fun, and everyone seemed friendly and were enjoying their meals. We were full, but when our server came by and said we have fresh made pies, Mr. Bee jumped on that bandwagon. We got a piece of coconut cream pie to go. We stopped in the park in the middle of the square where there are a few benches and picnic tables. We enjoyed our pie, it was scrumptious while enjoying the beautiful sunny day.

I also ordered the grilled peach salad, and wow. Perfectly grilled, sweet, and such a standout. The dressing seemed to contain dairy, but the team was very helpful in guiding me and making sure I had what I needed. It quickly became one of my favorite salads I've had in a long time. My husband sampled some of their pastries and said they were delicious. They also had a massive cinnamon roll on the counter, probably close to ten inches wide. I didn't get it this time, but if you're a cinnamon roll person, this is absolutely the place to indulge. They have regular sized ones too if you're not ready to commit to the giant version.
