Overall outstanding experience once again in December 2025. Food is great, ambiance is buzzy, and Michael remains the consummate host. The cozy warmth of Marcella and the hospitality were just the right prescription for a cold snowy evening. The cocktails are chilled and the pasta is steaming hot! What more to say?

Wow. Is all I can say. The old Montreal atmosphere, the friendly service, the bartender explaining his concoctions. And the food! The bucatini special, with duck and an anchovy cream sauce, washed down with a hibiscus lemonade mocktail--spectacular. The salmon special entree with seafood--"that was so good." The lemon chicken on a bed of risotto with seasonal veggies--"delectably delicious." Packed on a Monday night, don't they need more waiters?

A beautiful place loved the esthetic of the decor! Perfect place for our group to share appetizers and get drinks after a day of touring!

Everything about this place was amazing!! The pasta sauce was flavorful and the chicken was well-crusted and still juicy inside! The tuna crudo was the highlight of the meal because even though it looks simple, it had so much flavor in the lemon zest, fried capers, savory cream, and basil oil. The service was also great and the ambience inside was beautiful. Perfect spot for a date night!

We had a dinner of selected appetizers and really enjoyed our meal; everything was good except 1 dish which they removed from our bill. *The Marcella salad was delicious, it had just the right mix of arugula, greens, dressing, candied pecans, etc. *My favorite was the bruschetta- they provide 4 long pieces with a perfect topping of tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, it was so good! And not only that, it sits on a bed of arugula which adds the right bit of spicy to the dish. This was just excellent! *Meatballs were good, sauce and flavors were there. *Fried calamari was delicious, tasted fresh and seasoned just right. *Eggplant parmigiana was a disappointment. It was drowning in sauce and when you got to the eggplant it was mushy. It was like there was breading that got mixed into the sauce and the eggplant had no good texture. I have to give kudos to our server who asked if everything was all right and I told her about this. She apologized and returned offering to switch it for something else. We didn't want another appetizer so she just removed it and we got 2 desserts instead. Had she not asked, I would never had complained but would have left dissatisfied. She was excellent, the restaurant was excellent and overall this is a wonderful place to enjoy a good meal.

My daughter and I ordered two pastas and they were both delicious. We sat at the bar since we didn't make a reservation and the bartender was very attentive and gave us great service. The quaint restaurant had a great ambiance. We will definitely go back.

Hands down one of the best italian restaurants in town. Great ambience, delicious food. Highly recommend reservations. without reservations you can't get seating in bar. We went an hour early before our 10 pm appointment. The chef recommended us different places to hang out and later after our dinner gave a complimentary shots as a treat for our patience.

What a sweet restaurant with great food and service. I had the penna with pesto and it was delicious. Brought home tiramisu which was delicious.

Tired of eating after a long week in Montreal of stuffing myself to the gills, I was dreading another meal out. I was so glad I kept my reservation! Loved the vibe of the dining room - great lighting and plants. Service was incredibly friendly. We kept it simple with just ordering one main apiece. I wish I had space in my stomach to eat through more of the menu. My husband said his carbonara was divine. I had a pesto pasta with the gluten free option. It was cooked to perfection, the pesto was top notch, Sun dried tomatoes were a great flavor addition and the pine nuts were toasted to perfection. I noticed some larger groups of 8-10 dining while we were there, so this seems like a good place for a celebration. Great wine list to boot!

The first time, the music was extremely loud, and it seemed like they were short-staffed. The bar was completely packed, and there was only one bartender making drinks, so the wait was a bit longer than expected. We decided to give it another try, and I'm so glad we did. The second visit was amazing! The bartender working that night was incredible--she clearly knows her craft and made our drinks quickly without sacrificing quality. Every cocktail was delicious, and the overall experience was much more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend The Coldroom. My only suggestion would be that, with a space that busy, the bar could really benefit from having an additional bartender during peak hours. It would help keep wait times down and make an already great experience even better.

They took me INSIDE. Through the restaurant. And out the other side into this absolutely fantastic hidden courtyard. Excuse me?? Why did nobody tell me we had upgraded accommodations? The back patio is one of those spaces you'd never know existed from the street. There are stone walls, greenery climbing everywhere, strings of lights overhead and some seriously cool artwork and murals. It feels tucked away from the bustle of Old Montreal and, once the lights came on, had a really warm, relaxed atmosphere. Most importantly, nobody seemed remotely concerned that a tiny Italian Greyhound had joined the dinner party. I was welcomed right in. Mum ordered the trout over couscous, which looked extremely impressive. She did give me some of the trout. Dad ordered the steak frites. I repeat: Dad ordered steak. At a dog-friendly restaurant. While sitting next to a dog. He did not share. I feel like we've covered this issue before. Dad had wine, Mum had a Diet Coke, and I spent much of dinner curled up comfortably with Mum while monitoring the steak situation. There were developments. None favorable to me. But Wolf & Workman is exactly the kind of place we're always hoping to find when traveling: somewhere the humans don't have to compromise on having a genuinely great dinner just because I'm with them. This wasn't simply "there are a couple of tables outside where you can put the dog." I got the good patio. Dogba's verdict: 5 paws out of 5. Dog welcome: enthusiastic Surprise hidden courtyard: exceptional Murals: excellent photo opportunities Evening atmosphere: Mum approved Mum's trout: apparently delicious Dad ordering steak in my presence: provocative Wine for Dad: yes Steak for Dogba: I'd prefer not to discuss it Would absolutely return. Although next time, when someone says Wolf & Workman, I expect considerably more attention to the wolf portion of the clientele.

The vibe was magnetic. Just wanna put this in your little craw: El Pájaro is the sauce. Simple spin on a daiquiri takes house pineapple rum (a mega-layered blend of 7 rums blessed with ananas for a spiky, sweet base) and adds a dash or two of absinthe before flaring it up in a shaken blaze of glory. I mean, get El Pájaro but pretend to look at the other foods because the menu is a baseball card folder with fun and funky players for each of the dranks. Food? They may not have space for much, but they have what matters -plantain chips and a panini press for as authentic a Cubano sandwich as you'll find in Montreal. Slippity slapped and was the best snack to pair with Papa Pájaro.
