You kinda need to be looking for this place in order to find it, but it's worth the effort. It's a small business run by folks that truly seem to be Good People. Equally as important the food is excellent, with various refrigerated options that you heat up in your house - you're in Dauphin Island after all so many/most folks have houses with a decent kitchen. And the restaurant options on the island are quite limited so pick up some good food to heat up "at home" and not worry about stocking up on groceries and/or cooking every night. This place as well as Skinner's Seafood are now staples of any visit to the island. The menu changes every week so check Facebook, but most everything is good and the only potential issue is occasional lack of full re-heating instructions. If in doubt, preheat the oven to 350 and take off any "clear plastic" tops then cook until it seems to be heated through - often more time than might be listed though admittedly we've also found that most rental houses on the island have ovens with inaccurate temperature readings. Check your food temps of course but plan for more time than listed on the instructions - and beware if you're planning to bake homemade biscuits, pizza, or anything that requires really high oven temperatures in your rental house. Just sayin'. Enchilada casserole, mac & cheese, breakfast casseroles, pretty much everything we've ever had from Dinner's Ready has been pretty great. And by all means get yourself some Southern banana pudding. Or two. Or three. You're welcome. read more

I love this as a concept for a beach town restaurant/business. Having something of quality to heat and eat at the end of a long day on the beach is perfect. We opted to pick up enough food for 2 such dinners during our recent vacation on the island, so we placed an order for the chicken and smoked gouda grits that were being prepared one of those days. When we picked it up, we added a breakfast casserole (sausage and eggs) and a key lime pie. We had the breakfast casserole for dinner that night actually, and it really hit the spot. I've made something quite similar myself and it's pretty straightforward, but it was perfectly prepared. Another evening we had the chicken and grits. It was good, and care obviously went into the ingredients and preparation. The key lime pie was excellent, we each had one of the small pieces (4 pieces in total) a night each. All in all, good food at a fair price. Portions seemed to us a bit on the smaller side--my wife mentioned she felt she only had a few solid bites of chicken (it seemed one chicken breast was cut up and mixed throughout the grit dish). I quite possibly overlooked it, but didn't see dining/size guides on the FB page. I thought they were family dining portions, whereas what we got seemed to us to be a solid, somewhat on the light side, portion for two to eat and after a long day you might want a bit more so plan to add a side or something with it (and order double if dining with more). I'd also love it if their website was up to date for daily/weekly ordering so you didn't have to use FB, a platform I do my best to completely avoid but which seemed to be the only way to check the menu out (and a super quick way to place an order and get a response). These final observations are all very minor IMO and shouldn't detract you from rushing to try out the food here if you're staying in the area. A very solid 4 ("great") rating. read more

We ordered from Dinner's Ready last night and it was perfect for our family vacation! They post a menu weekly on Facebook and you can easily message or call to order. The entrees serve 2-3 people and are ~$15 each. We had Chicken Enchiladas which you can just heat in the microwave and eat. We had the crunchy Asian slaw and apple walnut salad as well, which were both served by the pint and range in price from $6-$10 per pint. We also got there and couldn't resist the desserts - lots of cookies to choose from as well as banana pudding ($12.50) and Key Lime Pie ($25). If you're vacationing and need a super easy meal, order ahead or stop by Dinner's Ready! We are already planning to go back. read more

A little difficult to find- right next to Miguel's beach n Baja restaurant. A little place with no indoor seating but shared outdoor seating with Miguel's. Had a fridge and freezer in the front, presumably so people can grab a pre-made dish and bring it home. Came for lunch and had the chicken salad in the lunch box. Not a lot of options but we were happy with our meal! Only wish it had a larger portion. Would definitely come again. read more

We live on the island part time. I've been in several times and have always liked the food. I usually get their lunch boxes but I've also had some of the casseroles, sliders, and desserts. Everything is always delicious and the women that work there are very friendly. I love having their options when I want "real food" but don't feel like cooking or going out to eat. read more

Found this place on accident. We were next door looking at art in the gallery. I took my dog outside to hunt lizards and walked up to this magical place. As my dog was mesmerized by the abundance of lizards a very lovely woman came outside to meet my pup and to ask if she needed any water. I asked what her business was and she explained. My wife and and walked in and took a look around. Beautiful place actually. A family owned place. A special place. We picked up some cupcakes, cookies and a chicken artichoke meal as well as a broccoli salad. Everything was incredibly good. This place is a gem. I can't explain how special it is. We live in Texas and are surrounded by chain restaurants and finding something like this really gave us all a lot of joy. Plus they were warm and welcoming to us as well as our dog. Dinner's Ready has deliciously crafted cuisine, ready for you to enjoy in your home. While visiting the island, we enjoyed many entrees, soups and sides....and desserts....all of it delicious comfort food extrordinaire! Pastitsio, squash casserole, jambalaya, white bean chicken chili, magic bars (that ought to come with a warning label-- they're that good) and margarita cupcakes were just a few things we ate...so far. We will go back before we leave the Island. AND the women/chiefs are very friendly and welcoming-- they took time to explain the various dishes and ingredients. If you're looking for someone to portion control your meals and charge you extra for the food you don't get, then this is your place. The sliders were smaller than your usual slider, but still just as expensive. The key lime pie was the size of a large tart, and the peach cobbler had literally 4 peach slices in it. Four. Not peaches, but slices. It is actually a peachless cobbler. We got excited when we actually had a bite with a peach. We felt like communists when they discover a vegetable in the market that isn't rotten. Lucky for us, we had a peach that we cut up and added. So not only was the food expensive, but we actually had to add our own ingredients to make the food as advertised. I get that we're on an island and there is a convenience premium, but for the same price as a few sliders, a peach cobbler, and a key lime pie, I could buy a tank of gas, go to the grocery, and control my own portions. read more

What a great surprise! We have been staying a few weeks in tiny Dauphin Island, and have found really good food hard to find! We could cook all our meals, but hey, we are on vacation! This darling little place is not a restaurant, it is a take-out. It is a bit hard to find, and I bet soon they will be needing a bigger place. It has a different menu every day plus a few extras. Fabulous idea executed well by 2 ladies who love to cook. There aren't a lot of restaurant options on the island and we didn't want to eat at the same places again. So we stopped in and got jambalaya, corn muffins and pimento cheese dip for dinner. Plus cupcakes for dessert. Took it home and opened a bottle of our own wine and had a great dinner.
