Went to Dority's for the first time even though we live in the area and loved it! Tonight was the perfect weather for being outside enjoying good music by The Free Radicals and awesome food from Doritys. The service was great when we ordered and the young girl was able to make some great suggestions. My husband got the crab fried rice and I got the pad-woo-sen. it was delicious! We stopped in on a small plane. A man named Brandon that lives near the airport saw us walking toward another food source and offered us a ride. He mentioned his family owned a place called Doritys that had Thai food and without persuading us, we opted to give it a try because the guy was so hospitable. The food was great, the atmosphere/music was great, and Brandon's SIL even offered to get us a ride back to the airport. I will be going back to DI if for no other reason, to hang out at Doritys. 10/10 recommend. read more

We ordered food to go and the wait time was short. The bar area was busy with live music but the inside area was empty. We tried the fried rice, chicken curry, pork egg rolls and crab Rangoon. The portions were big and the food was delicious; the best food we had on the island. read more

Yes, Virginia, they've got breakfast. Hours on Yelp are not correct. Small cozy interior (what I mean is small and kinda cramped) Door KERSLAMS every time it closes so be ready for that. We ended up deciding to get our food to go because there want a lot of inside seating and all of it was taken. It was a bit too chilly for our blood to eat outside, although that was an option. Food was pretty good - we got waffles, a breakfast burrito, a texas toast breakfast sandwich, and an order of biscuits and gravy. Gravy was actually seasoned unlike many places so that was nice. So, breakfast on the island is a confusing adventure. Actually, make that food. Period. Not just breakfast. Our first morning here we had no breakfast because we couldn't find anything open for breakfast. After asking around, we learned about this place. So we arrived and found a very small interior with just a few tables - all taken. We decided to get our food to go. We had a bit of a wait. With not much room to wait. So you order at the counter. You don't give a name and they don't give you a number. They apparently just remember you and your order. Folks who were dining inside were served on paper plates and got plastic ware. That's difficult when eating something like a Belgian waffle. We took our waffle, bacon, breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich, and biscuits and gravy to go. We ate back at the rental house. Food was good. We'd eat it again. But we'd go forewarned and forearmed. read more

Best of venues with two great bars, doesn't serve food but had two food trucks which were both great! The band playing was very good, service was terrific. If you get within an hour you need to visit, you will not be disappointed! Also the best Bushwacker was terrific! read more

Open only when they feel like it. Yelp listed the hours tonight as 5:00-10:00. Google said 6:00-10:00. So I called the phone and a recording says they are open Friday and Saturday 6:00-10:00. Great. $37: two hamburgers with pre-formed, frozen (with freezer burn!) patties, and a frozen cheese pizza warmed in the oven. Side was a thimbleful of that mealy, weirdly sweet storebought potato salad with a dash of paprika on top for show. Our entire meal was plainly sourced in bulk at Sam's but priced like there was thought and effort put into its preparation. As a single mom trying to afford her kiddos a vacation for the first time in three years, it felt like being robbed. A damn shame for such a nice space and friendly counterstaff. Dority's a great venue and restaurant on Dauphin Island. They offer a great pulled pork sandwich and awesome burgers and seasoned fries. One of my favorite things is the sweet potato fries. They are double flash fried and taste amazing!! This bar has inside seating and an large outdoor area with tables that have individual fire pits as well as picnic table seating. It is very open and has a nice sized stage for live music. I visited for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed my time there. It's a very relaxing setting and I definitely will be going back! read more

People were nice but NO ONE wore masks not even the staff... they acted as if it was a joke. Food was good but overpriced. It costed me 25$ for a burger fries and sprite! then I went up to the bar and got one captain coke that ended up costing me 8$ the girl said. On the ticket it was 9 and some change. I tipped her two dollars, I look at my statement and it says I spent 15 and some change at the bar. One of the girls clearly changed my tip... so I will not be going back. Wouldn't advise anyone else does either. read more

Vacationing on Dauphin Island for a week from Nashville, we were so glad to find Dority's. They really did their outdoor seating well, and the whole atmosphere was great. We were happy to get to listen to some live music. Would love to see more beers on tap, though! Only two! I'm sure Alabama has plenty of great craft breweries, and we'd have loved to have had the chance to try some local beers! read more

What a cool little southern place. Dority's is definitely one of the highlights of our trip. First, you park in the back & there is no restaurant. Which we were pretty bummed about at first. BUT, they did have a bar & they have different food trucks. The set up is awesome. It's like a cool backyard party. There was a live band, corn hole, people dancing & just a good time. Burger is made with pre-made frozen patties- not very good, especially for $11. The individual size frozen pizza was $10. They charged $.35 for a cup of water. The only thing decent was the potato salad & it comes in a condiment cup. Beer is ice cold. Service is terrible, never got asked if we wanted a 2nd drink or refill.. It's about the only place open past 9:00 pm on a weeknight. Eat early so you can avoid it..... also- they were out of the first beer I ordered after I'd already paid for it. Really nice local place. Very courteous staff that owns and operates it. Great burgers and a large selection of liquor at the bar. Live music and an entire back area with rockers and nice chairs. We were on Dauphin Island for vacation and everyday shrimp and fish. It was a great time but by the end of the week we were all shrimped out. Let's get a burger!!! Turns out that this burger was so good I'm not sure I'll ever order a burger anywhere else. Go to the Gulf, eat all the shrimp and fish you want but don't leave Dauphin Island without visiting Dority's, it's great. read more

GREAT - but CLOSED FOR RENOVATION!! If you are looking for a place to eat on Dauphin Island as of Sept 13, 2017 they are closed for 2 months to renovate. They are only open for "special occasions". I hope this is a GOOD sign - and they will be back. But don't plan to eat there for a while!! When they come back - please patronize them. They have been an incredible addition to our little piece of paradise!!! read more
