We stopped at this spot as a last minute dive. Super impressed with this delicious food.

We came to Dority's on the first night of a quick trip to Dauphin Island. The service, food and drinks were great, and the atmosphere on their back patio was even better - very laid back! Plus they are dog friendly - yay!

Best of venues with two great bars, doesn't serve food but had two food trucks which were both great! The band playing was very good, service was terrific. If you get within an hour you need to visit, you will not be disappointed! Also the best Bushwacker was terrific!

$11 cheeseburger: preformed, frozen patty with freezer burn with a side of national brand, store-bought potato salad.

$37: two hamburgers with pre-formed, frozen (with freezer burn!) patties, and a frozen cheese pizza warmed in the oven. Side was a thimbleful of that mealy, weirdly sweet storebought potato salad with a dash of paprika on top for show. Our entire meal was plainly sourced in bulk at Sam's but priced like there was thought and effort put into its preparation. As a single mom trying to afford her kiddos a vacation for the first time in three years, it felt like being robbed. A damn shame for such a nice space and friendly counterstaff. I root for family businesses, but this one won't be around long serving overpriced cafeteria food like this, no matter how fabulous the courtyard.

The food was amazing. I can honestly say they have the best shrimp egg rolls I have ever had.

Great outdoor seating, looks like they have live entertainment, good beer and wine selection. Burgers / fries / chips all were excellent.

Seafood definitely seems fresh and local, my wife loved her grilled shrimp po-boy and I got a seafood platter with fried shrimp, fish, and oysters that were perfectly seasoned and tasty. We were very happy with everything, and liked that the shrimp were peeled & deveined which we prefer but was unusual to find when we lived in New Orleans. Service was good, drink options sufficient, and the top level has a pretty good view even if you're not seated on the window. We typically cook on Dauphin Island for various reasons including usually travelling with a dog, but Pirates is a gem definitely worth visiting on any visit to Dauphin Island. Bravo!

Likely our last visit for a while as we move our boat up to Fairhope next week. We arrived on a…read morefriday at 5:45, the wait was 35 minutes. Imho, they were seating faster than each waitress could keep up and it affected our service for sure. They were slammed, so I left the 4th star. We ordered eveything at once as we were there a while before our waitress Tanya made it over. Beer / wine, gumbo, fried fish dinner with baked potato and fried okra, she had the ahi tuna with sauteed spinach. We finished with cheesecake and a berry sauce. Everything was tasty, I had a fish filet and enough okra for another meal. The view, makes this place, the building architecture, if you like that, I do, and the food is consistently tasty. When we visit the island going forward, this will be our first pick.

I did however end up getting the adult grilled cheese with potato salad and the coconut bread pudding to go. The grilled cheese was yummy. The potato salad was good and made with real fingerling potatoes. The bread pudding was a bit lacking. It may not have been as good to-go as it would have been if it was plated and ate at the end of a meal in the restaurant. I ended up eating mine in the car with my pup. While I was waiting on my food I explored the wine shop. They had some good selections. I found some great buys to make dinner. I bought pasta, sauce, and cookies to make a delicious dinner at home after spending a couple of weeks on the road. The wine shop lady was fantastic. We struck up a good conversation while I waited.

Hmm where do I begin? 1 - something to note... they have a…read morekids menu but no high chairs or booster seats for children. 2 - definitely don't sit on the porch at dinner time unless you want to roast in the blazing sun. 3 - doesn't matter what's on the menu because they will tell you they are out of half of the ingredients. 4 - once you find something you'd like to order, what they bring you is not what is described on the menu. Severely understaffed. Severely overpriced. Small portions. I ordered the Roasted veggie grain bowl add chicken. This was listed as including quinoa, chickpeas, sauerkraut, & lots of veggies w/ creamy kale pepita pesto. They were out of chicken so I ordered it with shrimp. What did I receive? A bowl with quinoa, brussel sprouts, and shrimp. Nothing else. We asked for some sauce and they brought us the sauce they forgot, but nothing else. (Pic below) My husband's chicken pot pie was essentially chicken soup with a biscuit on top with a side salad, no dressing. Would not recommend this place. Was not even very busy and clearly they've got some major issues.

There aren't a lot of dining options out in the Fort Morgan area. We wanted to find something to…read moreeat without driving the 20 miles back into Gulf Shores, so we decided to check out the only restaurant within striking distance of our rental house. We frequent Mexican joints frequently back home, so our boys are pretty familiar with the food (though they still make a mess with cheese dip - actually, I still make a mess with cheese dip). In all fairness, we stopped by in the middle of the afternoon in the off season, so I think they were surprised to see us. When I say "they", I'm not actually sure if there was a separate cook, or if the waiter/bartender went back and cooked our food. I'm not even sure if they had the ovens on. It took forever to get our food. The boys were getting restless, so we got some cheese dip to settle things down (and extra napkins). After about ten minutes, the waiter/bartender/(cook?) came out and switched the TVs from Spanish soap operas to ESPN, which was nice. When the food finally came out though, it was fantastic. I was expecting the worst, but my taco salad was one of the best that I've ever had. It had chicken, steak and shrimp. All of the meat was cooked with jalapenos instead of bell peppers, which gave it a fantastic flavor (and surprisingly it was not very hot). During busier times, this place would probably be a four or five star spot.
