A farm-to-table restaurant located in Fairhope, AL. We were staying at The Grand for a meeting so I went with a group for dinner. The food was amazing. Everything from the appetizers, main courses, and desserts was prepared perfectly and tasted great. The service was also very good. We had 11 in our group and they never missed a beat. What a beautiful concept! The restaurant is tastefully designed and we saw people dressed for comfort and dressed for a special occasion and everyone was smiling and involved in the experience. Our waiter, Caleb, was helpful and understated.Bless him, I had lots of questions about the city, the economy and the beautiful restaurant. He politely answered all my questions and then some! The Hope Farm is one of the best places I've ever eaten at in Alabama. This is a really nifty spot with a double personality with their brunch/lunch spot "The Barn" and then the more formal dinner location "The Hall" which this entire compound is a really beautiful spot. They make some fantastic biscuits here, the burger here is among the best I've ever had in Alabama. For dessert I got the XO flourless chocolate cake which is one of the all time best desserts I've ever had! On my next lunch visit I wanted to sample one of their seafood options so I got the snapper and it was fantastic with lots of great flavors then for dessert I got a white chocolate cherry cookie with a latte. Overall the food was outstanding and left me wanting to rank the Hope Farm as the best restaurant in Alabama. The service was outstanding on my first visit while on my second visit left a LOT to be desired as I was left without service for really long time periods which left me quite thirsty with a lack of drink refills. The food was 5 stars all the way as was the service during my first visit while the second visit service was more of a 1 star... Update: I popped in from my barn literally in my boots and riding breeches for a late lunch, working with my horses works up an appetite! This ginormous BLT was every bit as delicious as it was huge! The bacon was crisped to perfection, I didn't even feel too sorry for the pig, ok maybe a little but just wow! The flavors were over the top! It was served on house made sourdough bread, as if that wasn't enough... they fried the bread oh my goodness it was PERFECT! I also had a tasty iced coffee with brown sugar and pralines it was so good. I love how it wasn't overly sweet, I want a nice treat with caffeine not diabetes. It hit the spot. I appreciate that they have oat milk or almond in addition to cows milk. If I can't say enough nice things let me add that my server Brandy was very kind, attentive and if I were her boss I would be very happy because she's the kind of person you want to represent your business. The ambience and decor were also very nice, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say soothing. Even though it was an absolutely beautiful day I chose to sit my skinny derrière inside on the padded half booth because I had been outside all day riding and wanted to relax. We had the two tequila cocktails, started with Brussels, rice balls-forget name, then split a wedge, and the chicken dish...which we were told would be mind blowing..:and it was!!! Started with the El Capitan, an Oaxacan Old Fashion using Volcan de mi Tierra tequila and Del Maguey "La Vida" Mezcal. Excellent blend of smoke, Agave, Orange, and Mole Bitters. Next was a half dozen perfectly prepared broiled oysters from Murder Point. Perfect size, and a great balance of seasoning. The entree was the pan seared Snapper. We shared french toast sticks as an appetizer. They weren't overly sweet. They came with butter and syrup. I ordered Steak Frites. The steak was perfectly cooked. The chimichurri was a fresh, tangy compliment to the steak. The space is also so beautiful. Last three times I've come for lunch or dinner has been disappointing. One dinner my steak was over cooked. Another special dinner for an anniversary, I specifically asked the waitress if the short rib is fatty as I've never had it on its own before (unsliced) , she assured me it was not, I'm sensitive to fatty texture. Every other bite has globs of fat of course. Ordered a very expensive baked Alaska brownie thing, and it genuinely was not good. Bland brownie, a boxed brownie tastes way better than what I was served, and then on top of that they didn't fire it long enough because it tasted of mostly liquor. Idk wasn't good at all. And then, my favorite thing for lunch, the French dip sandwhich, last couple times I've ordered it for lunch (I've had it many times I come here often for lunch) just tastes different. Not as flavorful/ under salted/seasoned dip. Not to mention service is slow a lot. For the price, there's no excuse for this many issues. What a beautiful venue and demonstration of how fresh farm-to-table ingredients can deliver an incredible dining experience. We had reservations the next evening while were visiting Fairhope but had a last minute change the night before and decided to see if they could fit us in on the fly if we just showed up. The hostess very graciously accommodated our request and seated us in the main dining room where we were served by a quiet but attentive young lady who helped make our experience so pleasant! Every dish we had was outstanding! For appetizers, we tried the lightly fried squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta (yes, squash blossoms - don't knock them until you try them!) and Hope Farm sal. Both were outstanding! For entrees, we had the braised Waygu short ribs with Gouda grits and peanut ragu (melt in your mouth texture and SO flavorful!) and yellow grouper served Japanese style with mushrooms (good for what it was but not my wife's favorite). For dessert, we had the XO cake (think LOTS of chocolate - terrific!) and butterscotch crème brûlée (as good as that flavor is unique!). We visited The Barn at The Hope Farm for breakfast this morning and it was lovely. We were greeted immediately by a lovely young lady with a great hello. We both had the seasonal quiche and it was a nice portion with sautéed micro greens grown by them with a saucy spice! My cortado came with a pretty little heart and made me smile. They play excellent laid back music that you could spend all day or work and listen to. The weather was nice and we sat outside today and we will return. Favorite restaurant we went to while visiting the town of Fairhope!! Beyond excellent service both times. I had the summer salad with pickled blueberries, peaches, and a bruleed goat cheese wheel. Sat at the bar and received impeccable yet friendly service...even though I promptly spilled my drink upon it's serving. Ugh! It was immediately replaced with a smile and a kind word. I had the Duck and Grain Salad and I wanted to love it - but I really didn't prefer it. I wouldn't order it again. However, the burrata with the strawberry and shallot jam was incredible and I loved the black tea crème brûlée. The flavors were spot on! We went for brunch and dinner in the same day. Brunch: 1/5 stars. Waiter was MIA. Food took 50 minutes. Even in spite of that, we were done eating and waited another 25 minutes for our check and latte (ordered to go and didn't come to go, and they did give it on the house which was nice), but ended up asking a different waiter for our check bc ours seemingly forgot about us. My wife and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary at The Hope Farm tonight -- our first time there -- and it absolutely blew us away. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of that special something that makes a night memorable. We started with the fries as an appetizer (perfectly crisp and seasoned), then moved on to entrées: my wife ordered the braised beef, rich and melt-in-your-mouth tender, while I had the catch of the day -- a beautifully crusted redfish that was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Random date night; last-minute decision to make a reservation for an early dinner. Arrived a little early with expectations to sit at the bar, but we were seated at our table without a hitch. They don't offer my favorite Cabernet Sauvignon, but I was offered another option to try. It wasn't bad! When my first glass appeared to have debris floating inside, it was quickly replaced and I was offered a paper coaster to keep anything from falling inside again. The Root Beer Old Fashioned was tasty! The focaccia bread is made with cheese baked into the top. When we asked about ordering this without the cheese baked in, we weren't accommodated. The server informed us "all focaccia is made with cheese in some way," though this is incorrect. It may be a nice addition to the bread, for those that can eat it, but it was disappointing we were willing to wait longer for a bread made without the dairy. We both ordered the 8 oz. Tenderloin entree. I kept the meal prepared as is; the tortelloni was substituted for Brussels sprouts for his. Both our filets were...bland. I was thankful for the truffled caciocavallo tortelloni to have something with some flavor for each bite of meat. There was ZERO seasoning on the beef. I was shocked. The same was true for his tenderloin-- bland as ever. The meal was good, but it didn't knock my socks off. I really expected better. It's not that I won't be back, but it's no longer one of my favorite places to eat. The drinks and ambience are lovely, but the food wasn't what I expected this visit. Such a shame. read more

It came out in a timely fashion and was presented beautifully. We got the gnocchi, fish special, chicken entree, ravioli, and Brussels. I have breakfast and dinner here! Make sure you get reservations for the dinner spot! Also when you enter property to the left is dinner and event side and to the right is coffee and breakfast .They don't have a sign for that so kind of confusing. Dinner Dinner was amazing . We got a few appetizers which were basically main course but cheaper option and one main . We were extremely full but had to get the bread pudding because it sounded amazing! Everything we had was so yummy! I was very impressed with the oysters as they were yummy and the cheese was perfect on top. The only thing i could say they should fix is the expresso martini but i'm extremely picky about them . This one straight up tasted like expresso and nothing else in it . The cup was warm to which is sad . My favorite was the braised short rib as it just had all the most amazing flavors in it. The squash ravioli was a bit salty and i was unable to eat it. I would go back and eat more oysters and try new things definitely. Such a cute outdoor patio and the bathrooms were nice. Music was a tad loud but i liked it because it was live. Breakfast Breakfast was very empty but im okay with that. sat outside and the patio once again was amazing ! They had all there fresh herbs which was fun to spot out. Dined at Hope Farm in March. Delightful atmosphere, wonderful food, but the alcohol pricing is way out of line. I've been to many fine restaurants around the world. Never have I seen such mediocre wines passed off as fine selections. We had a couple of glasses of an Italian wine for $13/glass. Price was in line with the quality. Then decided to order a bottle. Noticed on the final bill we were charged $70. This same wine sells for $15.99 at our local wine store. Ridiculous markup that is insulting to diners who know fine wines. Also noticed they were offering a selection of red and white wines for $10/glass. I asked the waitress which white wines were offered. She mentioned a Chardonnay and I ordered that. On the final bill, I was charged $18 per glass instead of $10. It was late in the evening and we didn't want to dispute in front of our guests, but the more I thought about it, the angrier I got. Our final bill for four people was $600. Astounding. And most of it was due to liquor up charges that were made without our consent. I will not be back unless the wine prices are adjusted to reflect the quality and there are no upcharge surprises read more
