    Seafood gumbo
    Ashley S.

First time visiting this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. The food, drinks, and service were great! We ordered the seafood gumbo, the crab bisque, and the Jubilee Seafood platter with a side salad and fried okra. Everything was served hot and fresh! The platter came with hush puppies, fried shrimp, fried fish, crab claws and fried oysters. It was so much food for two people that we were unable to finish it all. The only thing I would suggest is if you want your fried okra to be extra crispy, then you may want to see if they can cook it a little longer. It was a bit too slimy for us, but the taste was still good. We just didn't care for the texture. Other than that, everything was very tasty! Oh and I almost forgot, they have 50 cent wings and they were also delicious!! What a great dining experience at Market by the Bay!

great service and food! the best fried okra i've ever had! the lunch special was fried snapper sandwich and it was delicious. friends enjoyed the catfish blt which they also enjoyed. there is indoor and outdoor seating available. the bar looked well stocked and provided a small seating area. my one complaint is the recommended tip. 20% minimum seems a bit high. i like to base my tip on the service i receive. i have no problem tipping for quality but prefer to be guided by my experience, not restaurant recommendations.

Best of the best all around! Extremely friendly service and food is unmatched. Would recommend this for any meal of the day. ALSO DOG FRIENDLY

Fried okra, grits, 1/2 shrimp 1/2 grouper plater.

Market by the Bay saved us after an insane wait at a different restaurant. We were very hungry and were greeted by a friendly staff at Market by the Bay! We ordered a tuna dip and one member of the party got a cup of gumbo. The tuna dip was served with tomatoes, cucumbers, and saltine crackers. The tuna dip has a unique flavor with a minor kick. It had big pieces of smoked tuna throughout. The gumbo was also delicious. Our table had a variety of fried grouper (daily catch), fried crab claws, and fried shrimp. The batter was noted to be a bit salty, but good. Sides included the potato salad, fried, fried okra, and cheese grits. All of the sides were good, except the cheese grits. One member of the party had previously had the cheese grits at the Daphne location and said the Daphne location was different. We will give it a try, again. The service was great and the restaurant is quaint. We will be back, especially for some of the dinner entrees that are coming soon!

The best gumbo in the area. We love to have shrimp poorboy with a cup of gumbo. Shrimp is lightly bartered and always fresh.

This was not a hard and solid decision on my part. Instead I had decided that if I had my druthers, I would not eat there. Of course when it is my babécita's birthday my druthers were of no consideration and I found myself again at Tamara's for a Saturday brunch. We arrived to find the main dinning area to be full, and since we didn't feel like eating in the open to the outside area, we learned that we had an estimated 20-30 minutes wait for a table. Their was six to eight customers waiting around the hostess's stand inside, with another six waiting outside under a covered area. We decided to wait outside, but after about 15 minutes a rain shower began. The kind people waiting on the benches and standing under the awning encouraged us to move in further from the edge where they we were getting wet. A couple standing moved into the restaurant to make even more room for us. The hostess, seeing that it was raining outside when this couple opened the door, came to the door and invited us all in, announcing that she would make room for us all. Which she promptly did. My wife had informed the hostess of my needs, and had requested a corner table for ease of access, but once inside the restaurant, I noticed that the table arrangement seemed less crowded, which helped to ease my concerns about getting to a table. As it happened, right at the 20 minute mark, we were informed that our table was ready, and we were led to a table, not on a corner, but to a table at the end of a row of tables, and against a partition. I found this arrangement even better than our requested corner table, as it meant that I had no foot traffic behind me that I might inadvertently bump into, or bump into me. I was grateful for the evidently experienced hostess working out such a fine alternative to our request, and doing it in such a timely manner. Now I get to the food, and wait staff service. All I can say is that Tamara's management has both pegged to the highest degree. Our waiter appeared immediately, took our orders since we had perused the menu while we were waiting to be seated. As for our food, my birthday girl had the Spinach Eggs Benedict, and I had the Fried Chicken and Waffles. Both were excellent. Neither of us had a single complaint, and my wife, who is fascinated with Tamara's long list of various types of Eggs Benedicts, promised that we will be back for many more visits to try each one. I am grateful that I was forced to forego my pledge not to patronize this establishment again, as it provided an opportunity to learn how the good people at Tamara's made adjustments that allowed my experience to be enjoyed more fully. I am also grateful in that we can continue to enjoy their excellent food.

It's the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood. We started with the calamari, which was perfectly cooked--light, crisp, and flavorful. A great way to kick things off. Meals come with salad and breadsticks, and both were fresh and delicious (those breadsticks definitely didn't last long at our table). Service was another standout. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and kept everything flowing smoothly without ever feeling rushed. Timing on the food was spot on. For entrées, the chicken marsala was rich, savory, and full of flavor it was easily a highlight. My husband's steak and shrimp was also very well prepared and equally enjoyable. Overall, Gambino's delivers a great combination of atmosphere, service, and satisfying Italian comfort food. Definitely a spot I'd recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Our waitress blamed the kitchen for every mishap. One mistake, ok two mistakes and more, not buying it. We tried ordering drinks but our waitress had no idea what kind of wine they sold so she had to go check. When she returned we ordered drinks and when the drinks showed up we ordered the small beef and cheese dip, they also brought chips and salsa that was very tasty. She ordered a fahita steak quesadilla, she said it was very salty and average at best. I had the enchilada supreme with no sour cream, I was very clear and even said it twice. Our meals showed up before our "starter" beef and cheese dip. Mine had sourcream on it so I asked them to fix it as ordered. Next the dip showed up and the cheese had a thick skin over top of the cheese, it too was average. My enchilada showed up and it appeared they scraped off the sour cream and re applied the lettuce, etc. The problem is by then, the enchiladas were not very hot and the fries were soggy, luke warm and not crispy. The manager did come over and asked about our meal, I replied it was just ok, that was as nice as I could be. He offered to make it good on our next visit, I told him not to do so, he said he could fix it, but our meal was over at this point. We will likely try other mexican restaurants in the area before we attempt to come back to give them another chance. On any day a restaurant can fail.

Dropped into the Bayside Grill on night 1. Requested a table, and they took my phone number (obviously to text me when it was ready)... they then gave our table away to another party because we "walked away" (we stepped just outside the door by their back patio). When confronted, they said "we couldn't find you"... you had my NUMBER! They apologized for the poor communication but offered the choice of a 45 minute wait or sitting at two different tables. Finally got seated at a make shift combination of circular tables that they graciously but awkwardly pressed together. The server was beyond flustered and unprofessional - apron a complete mess and falling off, confused, and generally frazzled... bro are you on vacation too? How many drinks have you had? The table we should have gotten looked like the waitress was managing the party pretty well. It took 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive, another 45 minutes for the apps to arrive. Then another 20 minutes for the entrees. The food was good. Legitimately tasty! Or maybe my entire party was just starving by this point (kids started to melt). The apps were good, most of the entrees and sides were good, the ribeye had good flavor but lacked a good sear, and the espresso martini was watered down (nobody at the table finished theirs). Really hoping that they're having "opening day" type troubles since it's one of the first busy weekends of spring... but I expected a significantly higher level of service based on the staff at check in. I would have thought that being in the business for over a hundred years would have helped construct solid processes and procedures. Cheers to 4 more days in Fairhope.

While the burger was really good, hot and juicy, the french fries did not seem very fresh. I think they had been cooked earlier and that is the only drawback to our meal. The service was really good too.
