I have never been to a salon inside of Salon Plaza, but I like the set-up. It is arranged like a mini-mall where each stylist has his/her own suite that serves as an individual business. I look forward to seeing her business grow. Her hours are convenient for working people, she has evening hours and she also works a full day on Saturday. No more taking off work to get my hair done! The stylist did not formally consult or examine my hair to tell me what she thought I needed she just started shampooing me right away after quoting price. She didn't even tell me her name or ask me mine. Or even ask if I had sensitivities and scalp problems. The lady washed my hair about three times and the scalp massage was rough and unbearable to a degree. She had very STRONG hands, uncomfortable if you aren't used to heavy scratch on your scalp. But it felt like it relaxed me I guess. No salon grade products were used on my hair... and the brand was unclear or not the actual brand used in the container. so it's unclear what they are putting in your hair. When she rolled my hair without styling product so frizz was not tamed and rollers weren't neat. So I am unsure how my hair came out bone straight. When wet the stylist comb my hair without fine tight comb from the ROOT instead of the ends and I could feel my hair snapping. Which is a big no with ethnic hair you have to detangle first with wide comb first. So the stylist did not detangle curly/ mixed ethnic hair properly. Which is shocking as this is a Dominican salon that should know how to deal with curly/ wavy hair texture. Not sure if I will go back due to lack of transparency and care around what was used on my hair. Which is a major concern.

I asked several times can I get it wet/will the braids stay in because she did not tie or glue the braids. She assured me it wouldn't unravel, that they were secure. They were so cute initially (purple outfit photo) ! But went on my vacation April 13th by April 15th braids curly ends started sliding out (pictured) & has been ever since. All thats left in my head is the regular braiding hair used to start the braid. I made her aware and sent videos but I could not leave my preplanned vacation out of the country to come back to MD to get it fixed. When I finally returned, I reached out and was left on read. She still has not offered to fix it nor refund me. I am someone who HATES getting their hair done and loves to keep braids in for 2-3 months. I only had 10 DAYS of wear! I can't wear ANY STYLES bc the braids have come undone in various spots all over my head. This is truly unacceptable & very disheartening as prior to this I enjoyed her braids. Due to her lack of response & initiative to rectify this situation, I recommend you look elsewhere for a braider.

She also made sure my braids weren't too tight and finished quickly. I would definitely recommend her if you're looking for knotless braids. Her shop is isolated and safe. She wears a mask and can keep the door opened to allow for air circulation.
