I will never be going back to this location. Neither do I recommend it to anyone who cares about how their hair is cut. You can request simple things as a six and a two and they gave me a three and a three I want my length on the top to be the same my whole top should have been between eight and 10 they went ahead and gave me a three and I told him to stop because he kept making my hair shorter. I said please stop cutting, I wanted to leave I had to pay you know I was forced to pay something that I already got my hair messed up on. They messed my hair up and I'm forced to pay and he looks at me. He's like I thought it looked better this way I didn't pay you for what you thought. So when I'm paying it's $23 for a ruined haircut and he goes so how much is your tip your total for a tip on me and you messed up my hair and I had to stop in the middle of what you were doing so I can keep the rest of what I got. So rude and unprofessional. Vibe is not what I would expect of a decent establishment. read more

Good luck haha. I went into there. Three staff members were all sitting down. They looked miserable and tired. They have horrible communication skills. I explained what I wanted. I explained it slowly and thoroughly. He said ok... He didn't know English. I quickly realized after the idiot butchered my hair. I walked out a very upset and unpaid customer. NEVER AGAIN. This is the only place I have had my haircut in 27 years. Been going there since I was 15 yrs old, now in my 40's. Very friendly staff, not rushed, and precise cuts. Ask to have your neck straight razors with warm shaving cream. Nice clean finish. Kudos to a local shop, and support tour local businesses people. You wont be disappointed here at all. read more

For the price you pay, Dino's Barber & Stylist offers up some pretty solid cuts. They're located in the Aspen Hill shopping center, between a spa and Dress Barn. It's pretty small inside and can get busy during the weekends. A lot of the clientele seem to be their regulars, but they take walk-ins too. I came in to get a clean-up shave on my undercut, which consists of a bald fade and line-up. Thom gladly took me in as a walk-in and asked for what I wanted. He got the gist of what I was saying, but I felt like some things got lost in translation. With a bald fade, it's usually buzzed with a 1 towards the top and then fade into baldness. Thom explained he couldn't go to "the skin" so he left my hair as short as he could possibly get it. Close enough. The line-up could've looked a little cleaner, but it was easily fixable. It was a pretty good haircut, but I would've liked to see some traditional barber skills (like shaving to the skin) a part of their arsenal. When I got home after the haircut, I had to fix some spots that were choppy and uneven. They have cheap prices, but the cuts here are a hit or miss. *On a different note, Mr. Lee does well with my thick hair. read more

Maybe I'm a little biased. So what if I've been coming here since I was in the 4th grade getting my haircut from Mr. Lee? All I need to say is that Dino's is your local barbershop. You see nothing but regulars come in getting affordable, quick, haircuts. I'm in 15 minutes and I'm out. Mr. Lee probably does the sides the best. If you're younger and looking for that hip new look, try Calvin out (although you should call ahead for an appointment). My friends get their haircuts from Italo who's been cutting hair for almost 50 years now (I overheard a conversation that he's been in this area cutting hair since 1950). I waited until I'd gone here twice to give a real review. I wanted to make sure the first haircut wasn't a fluke. I suppose my review is mainly due to one of the folks at Dino's in particular, since she cut my hair both times. Amy. I walked in the first time and got shuffled over to Amy, as if she were the one who is new and perhaps doesn't get a ton of customers. Whatever. I had faith. She did a great cut and it didn't cost an arm and a leg to get it. The next time I needed one, I went and asked specifically for her. Great work the second time, too. My wife is picky, and I'm a fairly hideous human being in my estimation. And Amy can take my sad mop and make me look like a presentable human being, all for about 15 bucks. This is definitely my new barber shop now that we've moved into the area. I'm VERY picky about barber shops, and I'm really, really glad I found one I can trust. Based on the strength of the other reviews,it sounds like I can get good cuts from just about anyone in there. A side note or two about the business itself, it takes appointments and walk ins alike. I get the impression that they handle all sorts of hair needs (styling, fancy crap, or just a good ole barber shop cut). They seem to have a staff with a diversity of skills- old school barbers, hair stylists, etc. Definitely a good place. read more

The price is reasonable and even though the place is steadily busy the wait is rarely long for walk-in business. Most importantly, I get a first-rate hair cut and beard trim. Definitely five stars for Mr. Lee. From what I know, Mr. Lee has been real popular since the mid 90s, when fades and shaved sides were popular with Asian guys. Even now when I tell people that I'm going to get my hair cut in Aspen Hill, they say, "You mean Mr. Lee?" He's consistent, knows how to account for my funny shaped head, and also cuts it the way you want it. I have a theory that some barbers refuse to cut your hair short, because they want you to come back soon. Not Mr. Lee, if you say skin, he'll shave the sides to skin. I'm willing to go out of my way and adjust my schedule to get my hair cut by Mr. Lee. If/when he retires, I'll probably try to find a barber closer and more convenient to me. The other barbers are pretty decent too though. Like John mentioned, Calvin is really popular and looks like he prefers to work by appointment only. A lot of people request for shape ups from him. I guess the other guy's name is Italo, who was with Mr. Lee in their previous shop, and has his own regular customers. If Calvin and Mr. Lee aren't around then I get my haircut from Italo. Soca is another barber who has her own regular customers and is often requested by customers. There are three or four other barbers there too, who I know other people go to as well, and they seem nice as well. read more

This is overall a good barbershop. The majority of barbers are pretty good though there are two that I would avoid (and it may be just that they can't cut thick wavy/curly hair like mine). Lee and Kay Kay are both great and I always just ask for them. Italo and Dat seem good and have loyal customers that ask for them but I've never gotten a cut from either. Of the others there are generally two that are almost always the first available when you walk in as no one seems to request them. They are probably fine if you want like a buzz or just something short and have straight hair but I've given each of them way to many chances and always leave disappointed. I would go with a name and say that's who you want (Lee or Kay Kay for example). read more

Been going here for 21 years. Mr. Lee is truly the best. He is a master barber and he knows how to do an excellent fade. My hair always looks right every time I go to Mr. Lee. I have not tried any other barbers so I can only speak for Mr. Lee. All my friends go to him too. When I first moved to the area, I thought this barbershop would be perfect for me. It was very convenience because I live nearby until one day I walked in and got my haircut for the first time by one of the barbers in there. I remember his name was Dat. As I walked in, he's on the 2nd chair on my left. Very friendly manner, he greeted and asked me if he could help me so I came and sat down on his chair. It took him a total of 6 minutes to complete my haircut. It was awfully fast. Seemed like he was careless about my hair because while cutting my hair, I saw him kept glancing over the other barbers behind him through the mirrors as if he was racing. Not worth the money saved. Even ignoring the fact that the barber dropped his razor down my shirt not once, but twice during my haircut, the service was both rushed and rough. I asked for a medium fade and came out looking like a discount Hitler Youth. Better to give your business to the Hair Cuttery in the same plaza. read more

I have been going to dinos since high school since 2006. I have always gotten my hair cut there. Place is very friendly and i feel comfortable when i go into this store. My barber is calvin. Calvin is always on point with my haircut. I tries going to another barber around the corner when calvin was on vacation and i ended up havin to wait for calvin to get back beciase only calvin knows how to leave my hair the way i like it. All of my friends go to calvin aswell. Hes very efficient in his work and knows what he is doing. I constantly get compliments on my hair after hes done with me. I highly recomend calvin hes the best and i dont let no one touch my hair but him. read more
