This place has been a go to of mine for years. Their chicken gyros are my personal favorite and I get the sauce on the side. (I feel it's a little too much, but it's still good and this way I can control the amount I put on my sandwich) The fries though are where it's at! Perfectly salted and so savory you'll come back for more. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about them! They are delicious! They also have the fancy soda machine where you can add the flavors into your soda - my favorite again is the sprite either grape flavoring. It's delicious! The mushroom gyro is my favorite - also note - you can get a regular size or a mega - and don't forget to sign up for rewards! You get a special treat the month of your birthday! The location is excellent! Food is always extremely hot, and delicious. I highly recommend going here if you haven't been. There is a decent sized seating area, pricing is reasonable and there are lots of choices - including a dessert station if you are wanting dessert before you leave! I've been going to Dino's a really long time. It's usually been a good experience even if it's not anything like a Greek restaurant. Today was a revisit of the first Dino's I went to back in 2007. It was pleasant back then. Today the service was good. However the two gyros I ordered were less than expected. I ordered an original (kids size) for my daughter. Also a spicy for myself. Madison didn't eat hers after a few bites. She ate at the Edina location not long ago so I tried it. It tasted off. Like there was an oil that was used in there. Cross between French fries and gyros? Not sure. I ordered a spicy Gyros for myself. I should have gotten the regular and put Sriracha or crushed red peppers. What I got was feta cheese in something that looked and tasted like thousand island dressing. It was not anything I would ever touch again. It has been a while since I have eaten here and so I only have today's datapoint to base my comments on. I like gyros and have them over the years. I have had ones at Dino's before and liked them. Today the Tzatziki sauce only tasted like yogurt and not much else. The meat was good as was the peta. However I really felt let down by the sauce. My wife felt the same. Horrible. My wife and I sat and watched the young lady on the fries look at the rush coming in and roll her eyes on 3 different occasions. In the climate now where most restaurants are lucky to stay open after Covid you can pour think they would welcome the business. Service earned Dino's the 4th star. If they lower their prices maybe they'll get another star. I went for a salad with gyro meat. I had this plan of eating somewhat healthy so I was avoiding the sandwich, I didn't want the extra carbs. Then I ordered the seasoned fries on the side. Then the salad came with pita bread, so then I made mini gyros. GAAAHHH! Diet fail. The salad was good, lettuce and toppings were fresh as they should be. I didn't care for the Greek dressing much, just had a strange seasoning on my palate. The gyro meat didn't blow me away either, but did it's job. The cucumber sauce was fairly thick, which I enjoyed, it felt hearty. Dem seasoned fries were delicious. I love that they offer Sriracha, I mixed that with ketchup and went to town on the fries. The woman that took our order was so sweet. She came by to check on us, and was so smiley and friendly. A different person brought our food to us and he was super helpful as well. FOOD POISONING! My husband and I came near the end of the day around 7PM on a Friday night, and it was clear from the second we walked in that everyone behind the counter was tired and ready for their shift to over. They moved like zombies, looking at their watches to watch the seconds tick by and had horrible attitudes when it came to customer service. Loud music was blasting in the "kitchen" area, and more music was being played over the speakers in the dining area. We should have walked out when we had the chance. The person behind the register was cold and impersonal. No smile, no "welcoming" happened as we stepped up to the counter. After we ordered our food, we stood by where I had the chance to observe. There's a cleverly placed wall/partition that prevents people from seeing the gyros getting made(so who knows what goes on behind there), but I did see our fries being made. Here comes the gross part. I saw a few of the employees clearing tables and picking up garbage around the restaurant. One guy brought back a big load of sloppy trays, cups, and wrappers. After putting them down, he proceeded to grab our orders of fries in such a way where his WHOLE PALM was touching the top of our fries...after using those same hands to pick up garbage!!! Horrifying. Without being too mean, this person who was touching our food didn't look clean. I was going to say something but my husband tried to reassure me and begged me not to fuss-but I should have said something. That's my bad. We got home, sandwiches were ice cold. Gyro meat was rubbery. I barely ate anything I ordered-which I think was my saving grace. My husband ate everything and paid for it . He felt sick all night and was sick all day. Physically ill. I won't go into details. I also felt ill but I think because I barely touched my food it didn't hit me as hard. We will NEVER be back. The tables are roomy, with comfortable chairs, food is delivered to the table, complete with silverware. And our salads came in nice china bowls. "Greek" decor with columns and a silly mural. This location is in Saint Paul, MN on Snelling Ave. This place is so good. I had the chicken gyro, and added some Sriracha. The flavors are so good, and you won't be able to compare it o anywhere. At least I haven't found a place to compare it to yet. The fries are ridiculously good!!!! They have a Greek flare to them by having lemon, oregano, and some other spices to it. Nothing like I've ever tasted before. The fries were so good I had to get a 2nd order of them, lol...!!! This is my 2nd trip to Dino's. The first location I ate at was in Edina, MN, just on the outside of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The difference between the two was that the Edina location builds your Gyros/salads almost as if you were at a Chipotle, but Greek style. The Snelling location was pretty basic and didn't have the customization layout. At least from what I experienced. If you're near or around the Minneapolis, St. Paul area and you're looking for a great place to eat, but want a little less expensive Greek lunch. Having recently been here again after a long absence, it seems to me that the quality of their traditional gyros and french fries has really declined. The meat was haphazardly cut in thick slices. The tzatziki sauce was thick (consistency of sour cream) and relatively flavorless. They've got a heavy hand with the sliced onions, too. French fries were hot, but very greasy. And now, they use some sort of seasoned salt on them instead of simple, plain salt (like they did for many years).
