    Breakfast burrito and sauces

Tried Hey Bear today! I was soooo excited to try this new breakfast/lunch spot because of some of the hype. Loved the story behind the name and hearing about the work put in to get it open. It's on a perfect little stretch in St. Anthony. I was glad to see they were busy at lunch time on a weekday. All items are less than $10. The young lady taking my order was so friendly and informative and provided all the accoutrements upon receiving my order. The cooks seemed to be having a good time in the back! Regarding my fish- I wish the breakfast burrito was better. I had pretty high expectations based on reviews. Sadly, the rice in the burrito wasn't cooked. There really just wasn't a lot of flavor. The size was just right. There are much better breakfast burritos around town. I do want to come back to try breakfast sandwich. I bet they'd get a lot of business if they were open on Sunday's!

We've been to Hey Bear! twice in the last couple of weeks; we want to try the whole menu! They have a fairly small menu, but everything looks amazing & is under $12 each. The space is cozy and bright, with a good amount of seating, but it did fill up pretty quickly on the Saturday morning we went. Everyone has been super friendly & service was quick, too! So far, I've tried: The Breakfast Sandwich without sausage (they actually knocked a dollar off the price for not getting meat, which was awesome); the biscuit is fluffy & crunchy on the outside, which made for the perfect base for the fluffy eggs. The eggs themselves were so well seasoned & delicious, & the cheese was the perfect topper. The Breakfast Burrito again, without chorizo, was also really good. The tortilla was perfectly crisped & there were, again, those delicious, fluffy eggs. I loved the inclusion of rice, beans, & cheese, but wished there was more egg than rice. I added salsa when I brought it home & that was a perfect addition. The Cold Brew was really tasty as well, & the perfect sized 16oz serving. Overall, this spot is GREAT & we'll keep coming back :)

Super yummy sandwich and super fun spot with excellent service! While the area it's located wasn't the most extravagant, I really enjoyed my time and would love to go back. Definitely recommend.

The polished hardwood floors and wood tables and large windows give it a modern sleek look which seems to be the trend for coffee bars motif in this decade. This is a huge improvement from the old Lori's. I did have my usual brewed of dark roast and found it one of the best. I actually complimented the barista on the roast who didn't reveal any secrets but did say, "we make it strong". If you haven't been here for awhile give it a try as it's a perfect place for studying, working or just contemplating your life so far. This is more of a walk up place so there is no parking lot and since this is across from the campus you'll have to park well down the block of the many neighborhood street to the West. **Still great coffee but no longer good selection of pastries and fresh baked cookies. But that doesn't mean Lori's isn't worth stopping in. Here's what I love about Lori's: 1. It's an affordable, local small business that's essentially "on campus." I'd much rather spend my money here than on the overpriced coffee in the student center. 2. It's a community hub. People come here to share time with neighbors and classmates. There are plenty of regulars and the staff gets to know you and won't hesitate to pull out some recent photo and tell you a story. 3. THE SOUP. They have homemade soup every day for $3 (includes two slices of bread). They only cycle about two different kinds, but it's SO cheap and filling and wonderful on a cold winter day. When I forget my lunch, this is my go-to. 4. Patio/Seating/Mim's. It's attached to Mim's on the left (so you can get food AND coffee) and a large extra seating area on the right. It's a great place to cozy up and read. Also the patio is really nice in the summer, you can sit out on the lawn in the sunshine and watch people going about their business. I am very grateful for my reliable soup spot, and for cheap coffee on those cold mornings when you just can't wake yourself up. Thanks, Lori's!

Actually, the latter they seem pretty proud of because when I came in this weekend the very friendly barista had pretty strong opinions about what coffee would go well with what baked good. Lots of families from the surrounding residential neighborhood, which is right on the Northern edge of St Paul, as well as people on their own making progress with their laptop activities. They have a lot of ourdoor seating, including a fenced in area which I assume is meant for dogs. There's a separate kids area with toys, and if you go further back there is a gift shop with very cute artisan items. This is a very happy place that I hope you will try!

Everything was delicious, and the vibes are immaculate! I'm already excited to go back on a sunny day to sit at the picnic tables or head into the quieter annex type rooms to get some work done.
