On Sunday, July 5, my family visited Harlem Shake at 3pm. On Sundays, they have live performances that are outside beginning at 3:30pm. The band was AMAZING! The singing, music selection, and interaction was fantastic. I believe their name was New Soul Band or something similar. I think they are there for the summer. We placed our order. Since there we six of us, we moved two tables together. By the time we rearranged tables and selected our seats, our meals were ready. We received our food quickly and right before the band started. A couple of us ordered the Harlem Classic with regular fries. Others ordered the Hot Mess and Jerk Chick Sandwich with Sweet Yam Fries. Everyone enjoyed their order. Customer service was great. The atmosphere was informal and very relaxing. We enjoyed ourselves. read more

Placed an online delivery order with Harlem Shake, two hours in advance (4 pm for a 6 pm arrival). The time came and went. Called twice, and while the staff answering the phone were certainly polite and respectful, they could only tell me that the order was "in their system and out for delivery". They could not track the driver, who they said was driving "multiple routes" (whatever that means). That makes zero sense. Weather was pleasant. Roads were clear. It was a Sunday evening, not the busiest time of the week for sure. No major sporting events on TV. No excuse. When the food finally arrived (almost 90 minutes late), the burgers were ice cold, and the shakes were drippy soup. I really want to support local business, but it's hard to do that when a very simple delivery order (only $50) is too much for them to handle. And one would think that, at the very least, some sort of refund or gift card would be in order for this inexplicable failure on their part. Nope. Nada. Sorry, but I cannot recommend Harlem Shake. Order from them at your own risk. You would be wise to eat a meal first. read more

Cool neighborhood spot to grab a burger, hotdog, and or chicken sandwich, with fries. I believe the service is good. I was happy to see young adults working hard and taking orders. I had a delicious jerk chicken sandwich with just the right amount of spice. The French fries were fresh, hot, and crispy. When I walked in, I got an old school diner vibe, but since it was a beautiful day, I chose to sit outside. There is plenty of space to eat and relax. I ordered a watermelon cooler, and it was refreshing without being overly sweet. This place has a variety of options for drinks. I visited this restaurant earlier this week after getting my hair done. I ordered the lunch combo called the One-Two Step which includes a Harlem Classic Burger with French Fries. The customer service was great and the restaurant wasn't too packed and noisy. The burger was well prepared and delicious. The French Fries were well prepared as well and tasted amazing. Craving a smaller sized meal in the area, I dropped by Harlem Shake for a hot mess burger. The smash burger had the right oomph, sweetness, tang from the chili with the 2 smashed patties. I enjoyed it without making too much of a mess (even tho it's called hot mess). Only miss was that I couldn't try a shake because they ran out of the flavor I wanted. I wanted to try this place and finally was in Harlem and the opportunity presented itself. It was super crowded on a Sunday afternoon. You can order using the QR code/link and then have to wait for your number or name to be called. I ordered the harlem classic w/impossible, special sauce, a cookies and cream hake, and curly fries. The shake was yummy, not too thick. The fries were good, tasty, but not one of the more interesting ones they had on the menu like the jerk ones I saw. The burger was okay. The taste was good but it was smaller than I expected it to be so I was slightly disappointed. We sat outside in the patio area and it was fine. Your girl has taken her talents to New York City for the weekend and my homegirl brought me to Harlem Shake to try out their smash burgers (because I'm in a binge right). This spot definitely gives your local burger joint vibes and the some of the workers definitely have that NY type of hospitality, IYKYK. I got the classic Harlem Shake burger which came with fries on the burger so that was quite interesting. Now I will say the smash burger wasn't bad but it was missing a little to me. I like mine a bit cheesier and definitely could've used a little more of their sauce because mine was a little light. The fries and burger were well seasoned though so not mad at that! Harlem Shake was absolutely delicious! I went there on a Saturday night and was pumped that it wasn't too over crowded and that I didn't have to wait forever to get my food. We ordered at the counter and then grabbed a booth inside - and got to see a lot of great signed photos of celebrities and entertainers who had visited this location along the walls. The decor was straight out of a 1950s burger shop and the food was so good. I got the regular burger and fries and The Harlem Shake - a red velvet milkshake that was incredible. My friend got the yam fries that were even better than the regular fries! Highly recommending going to this place when you're in the area! Harlem Shake is a go-to favorite for when I'm uptown. I enjoy most of their menu items, but so far, I have been really loving their classic crispy chicken sandwich. This handheld is roughly the size of a Pop-Eyes sandwich, but with actual ingredients for just $7.50 tip. The cole slaw and pickles are perfect, and I can easily repeat buy this without needing extra toppings. I always used to order from the uber eats app from Harlem Shake, so I decided that I wanted to check it out in person... You can say worst decision ever! The place was dirty and had a bad odor. While visiting we decided to stop here for lunch. I got a beef smash burger and my husband, turkey. The burger was pretty good. I was told the turkey was good also. We got fries on the side. My sweet potato fries were actually cold. I really didn't feel like going back up there so I just ate a few and ate my husbands fries, he had regular ones. Constructive criticism, I would suggest a better system of calling your customers. 8 years later and I'm still rooting for Harlem Shake, despite the scant vegetarian options. In fact, not even the fries are vegetarian - they intentionally add beef fat to the frying oil. Such a pity. The veggie burger is a mashed bean and walnut patty that I personally enjoy but isn't everyone's cup of tea since it's pretty mushy. Plenty of space to dine, even with the option to dine outside. Prices are good even in the economy that we are living in. Me and a coworker visited this spot for something to eat after our 1st choice for dinner didn't work out. I heard about this place before but this was my first time visiting. When we arrived there weren't too many patrons inside but it gradually got crowded. We initially sat outside since the weather was beautiful. However, the tables weren't sturdy so we sat inside at one of the cute booths. The décor of this place was cute. The set up for this restaurant is more like a take out spot even though they have a lot of indoor seating. You order your food, pay for it at the register and wait for you to be called to pick it up. There weren't a lot of fascinating choose on the menu. I initially wanted the hot honey chicken but they were sold out. I ordered the classic fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and a salted caramel shake. My friend ordered the Harlem classic- regular hamburger with cheese and regular fries. The food was fulfilling but me and my friend agreed the taste was just OK. My sandwich lacked flavor and needed more seasoning. My fries and shake were good. The staff were cool and there were no issues. I am not running back here anytime soon but I would check out other menu items if I'm in the area. read more

Personally would prefer a few more condiments on both the smashed burger and fried chicken sandwich. I got the grill chicken sandwich, it was really good. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I also had a kale Caesar salad as a side and it was great, i really enjoyed it. My wife had a burger, fries and a shake , which she enjoyed. I'll be going back soon. Was in Harlem for an extended visit and had lunch at Harlem Shake. I loved it so much that I took the family here when they came up from Maryland to join me. I grew up in Harlem and I am excited by all the great restaurants that have opened up over the years. Harlem Shake offers up some great diner food with a Harlem twist. The first time I was there I got the Harlem Classic and that was really good. The 2nd time with the family I got the Hot Mess Burger (Pickled pepper and bacon relish) and the girls got the chicken tenders (Fly Child). The Hot Mess was great and the girls loved the tenders and fries. I would rank it as one of the best burgers that I have had. I also got a watermelon cooler which I would also recommend (if you like watermelon). The staff members were really friendly and the experience was great. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.
