I flew to San Francisco to see Dr. Samadian for TMJ after a very convincing zoom consultation, and actually the night I was in San Francisco I saw other similar bad reviews here. I can't believe I didn't see them before! THEY ARE ALL TRUE. RED FLAG: Pay up front program bundle paying LARGE SUMS OF MONEY. No breakdown of costs provided. I was told I would receive CT Scans, Orthotic, Lidocaine Injections (which I did not receive and they did not adjust the price), as well as many follow-up appointments (which I did not receive). Dr. Samadian said he would get me all the way better. He made me worse. The daytime orthotic made me grind my teeth more, and my FACE SWELLED UP HUGE! (which went away when I stopped wearing it). The nightime orthotic MADE MY TEETH HURT AND I COULDN'T WEAR IT! He told me to try wearing it during the day, and MY JAW JOINT PAIN GOT WORSE!! He just kept telling me to give him time but after 2 months I WAS WORSE!! I went to another TMJ expert Doctor who just treats TMJ (Please do this yourself!) and they said my orthotic given by Dr. Samadian WAS TOTALLY WRONG!!! And their CT SCAN was WAY MORE PROFESSIONAL. Their diagnosis was way more detailed. They spent hours with me. And their orthotic price and treatments are 1/3rd the PRICE!!! I cancelled the remainder of my treatment with Dion Health and now THEY ARE FIGHTING ME TELLING ME I STILL HAVE TO PAY THE REMAINDER OF MY BALANCE!!!! 100% CHEATERS!!!!!! Haven't seen a dentist in 2 years. When my wife's dental insurer changed from Delta, I lost coverage at our beloved "Dentist-for-the-past-14-years." Got my own insurance effective 01/01/25, and made the soonest possible appt at a covered facility: Dion Health. I got a full 18 X-rays done by tech Mimi, then I was examined and got a super fast but very expert cleaning by Omid. He took the time to explain everything, e.g., you floss first, then do oral irrigation, then brush, always in that order, and other more technical and useful details. Plus he had the office include some extras to take home and take care of some gum issues exacerbated by my extended absence from a dentist. A sterling visit. My highest recommendation if you are looking for a new dental caregiver. read more

My original dentist left. I was never notified. The hygienist rushed through my polishing and forgot to work on the inside of my mouth. I had to remind her to finish the inside. The new dentist Dr.Neda rushed through my cleaning. She informed me that I had to get a root canal because I had an infection in my tooth. I did see the X-ray and understood the plan, but after that she banged very hard on my tooth which made me yell ouch. She asked if it hurt and I said yes because you hurt me with your instrument. I've never written a review but I feel like I have to after the experience I've had today. I've been going to Dion health for a few years now and I originally liked how kind and easygoing the office was but as time has gone on I feel like they have gotten worse and worse. When I walked in this morning I heard someone talking about me in a negative way saying im late (I was waiting in the lobby like I usually do) and they were making bets about how long it would take me to show up. Once I sat down, the first dentist was polishing my teeth but was being very aggressive and scrubbing my gums which I've never had done before. Typically they polish my teeth. She made comments about my gums bleeding and asked me if I brush my teeth daily. When I said yes she gave me a funny look as if she didn't believe me. Once she finished I met with a different dentist who I had never met before (Dr. Ellie I believe is his name) and that's when the experience went from bad to worse. Dr. Ellie was the most aggressive dentist I've ever had. He was speaking to me in an aggressive and accusatory way, he was being very aggressive with his tools, and was making weird comments saying it looks like I have a "snacking problem" and it looks like I don't brush my teeth. I see these dentists every 6 months and take very good care of my teeth. He continuously put me down, made jokes about how swollen my gums were, and continued to be extremely aggressive even when I started to cry. I spent half of this appointment crying in the chair and telling him how he was hurting me and he told me if I took better care of my teeth it wouldn't hurt. He was grabbing me by my bottom lip to move my head around. I have never had so much pain in my mouth before and it felt like he was trying to teach me a lesson. I understand if my teeth were really bad he would need to put in some extra work to clean them, however, I do take very good care of my teeth and this felt like he was trying to prove a point. Even if my teeth were in bad shape, I feel like there is a way for a dentist to communicate effectively and still try to be kind and careful and Dr. Ellie was none of those things. When the appointment was over he shouted very loudly that if I flossed more I would not be crying right now. My whole family goes to this office and right when I got home I called to cancel my monthly membership. This is not the first negative experience I've had here, but this new male dentist is absolutely awful and considering the front staff were saying rude things about me, this is my last straw. P.S. it has been a few hours now and my mouth is still in so much pain and there is blood crusted between each tooth. There was no reason for this dentist to be so aggressive with my mouth. I have pretty bad anxiety when I force myself to go to the dental office. I let the office know before I came in, how tensed I can be. From the moment I walked into the office, during the time of my exam, they made sure I was comfortable. I called on 3/30, they squeezed my daughter and in the following day. In addition to that, they took me in the next day to finish up some more dental work. I really appreciated how comfortable they all made me feel. And I will be returning this week again. I definitely recommend this office to all friends and family! I felt I got more information than previous visits and learned more about my overall health. Heard Dr Nakamitsu is retiring soon which made me a bit frantic but after my first visit with the other doctor, I was impressed! I go to the same hygienist and the staff is still helpful as before. If anything, the office looks more clean and tidy, it seems more modern than before for sure. This rating was given for generally a good first few years of care from Dr. Nakamitsu, but an abrupt change in the most recent experience with the new doctor. I've been going to Dr. Nakamitsu for a few years now and he's been generally been pretty good, but a little rushed. During my first appointment, he has said things like "I don't like this crown" but didn't really take the time to say why or offer any explanation unless until I specifically ask him while he rushes to the next topic or out the door. I've noticed a shift in the past year, that diagnosis and treatments seem to be more rush in scheduling for a filling or crown replacement so you can "use all your insurance money" for the year. Dr. Nakamitsu also did not let me know of my options and prices for crown replacement until he had already drilled my tooth, forcing me to make a quick decision and to accept the prices with my mouth wide open, and tools inside. Recently, with the new dentist, and change of ownership, there has been even less attention to care. The new doctor uses an anesthesia pistol for which consideration of patients who were used to syringes and Dr. Nakamitsu's practices was not taken. Although, it succeeded in making me numb, the pistol was a surprise, abrupt, and left me sore for a few days. This might be normal, but I just wish that there was some warning or consideration in change of care and treatment for existing patients. Secondly, the new doctor uses a device or prop to keep one's mouth open for fillings. I've never had difficulty with those before (or even remember having those at all) but hurt because it was too big for me and there was not enough time to say anything (actually you can't really say much once it's in your mouth). Finally with the new ownership, I was asked to pay before the bill was sent to my insurance. It was explained to me that I was paying an estimate and if there is any discrepancy after hearing back from insurance, then I'd have "credits" with the office. I did not ask if I'd be able to be refunded those credits, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I've never had a dental office use credits, and if they not refundable, it seems penalizing for anyone who wants to seek care elsewhere. In the entire time I've been to this dental practice, I've had excellent cleanings from hygienists. This could be a good place for you if that's all you need. For anything else, even a small filling, I would be thorough in understanding the process, options, and payment, as well as be assertive with questions. For me, that is too much and I'd rather have a dentist that I can trust to consider my needs and provide me with the right information without having to come up with the research the questions myself. Unfortunately, I'll be moving on to a different dentist. read more

I had my first dental appointment yesterday with Dr Hinnawi & Anna who did my cleaning- after searching for a dentist that made me feel comfortable (Since my previous one retired ) it was hard and then Covid hit - but I searched and found a wonderful Dental Office close to home & I loved my experience with Anna who did a great job on my cleaning Ty Anna! Also- Dr Hinnawi is going to fix a few things in my mouth - I'm excited and Very Happy to have found a Dental team that makes me very comfortable and everyone is so friendly and Vanessa tooThey play music in there that I found very calming Looking forward to my next appt next week Monday! First and foremost, I want to say thank you to the ladies of Dion Health for doing everything in their power to help me with saving my tooth and my crown and just being kind to me. My schedule was tight due to an unforeseen family emergency, and they got me in as soon as they could. Crystal and Darleah were scrambling to get me seen at their office because the pain was unbearable. They called multiple offices to get me seen for scans to prep for my crown. Dr. Barbie(I swear that is what she wants to be called and I happily oblige her) was thorough with her work, with a bubbly and vibrant attitude that took the stress away from being there. The entire team was down to earth, gave you the facts so that you could make an informed decision on your dental care. I looked forward to going back for my crown, because I knew I was in good hands. From Mimi (There's one more woman I'm forgetting but she is not forgotten) prepping and doing the work with Dr.B to Crystal and Darleah locking down costumer service it was all around just a great experience. WHICH WE ALL KNOW, NOBODY SAYS ABOUT THE DENTIST. Yet, above all that, it was the simple fact that they made me feel like we had known each other for a long time, joking and laughing. I have been going to this dentist all my life, and right now it feels like they are going through some massive transition. I met the new Doctor today and she was very nice. It will take some time to get used to a new Doctor, especially how to pronounce her name, but I said the same thing with Dr. Lance after Dr. Westbury left. The hygienist, Rachel, who cleaned my teeth today was very nice and easy to talk to. I would recommend giving them a chance. Just started seeing Dr. Nakamitsu. Got a first visit consult, a cleaning and he did 3 fillings for me. He explains things to you clearly and gives a recommendation but isn't pushy about it. He talks really fast but I love that! I got places to be and my last dentist talked really slowly especially when giving me the flossing lecture. I hit the jackpot when I found Dr Nakamitsu on Yelp! I've been here 3 times within the last month to get a crown and my teeth cleaned and I'm pretty impressed with all that was done. My first visit was for a filling that was about to come out, which was an emergency and they saw me the next day. The first time I came they performed what is called a build up and then they put a temp crown on my tooth. Then on my second visit 2 weeks later they put in a permanent crown and it fit very nicely. Then after that I got a tooth cleaning, which was a little nerve wracking, because I don't like metal touching my teeth, but it turned out good. Overall Dr Nakamistu and his staff did a fantastic job! He and his staff are very informative, thorough and are very personable. They all make sure you are well taken care of and they actually care about you as a patient. They are warm, friendly and very professional and Dr. Nakamitsu only suggests what needs to be done. In my case he did everything that he could to prevent me from having another root canal and I am very grateful for that. He was able to thoroughly clean out my damaged tooth and put a crown on it to save it from eroding any further. All the work I had done week after week definitely left me with some sensitivity, but after everything was finished about 2 weeks later my tooth seemed to adjust well to drinking hot and cold foods. A million thanks to Dr Nakamitsu and staff I'm extremely grateful for the work that you all do! I highly recommend anyone who is new to the area and doesn't have a dentist to first check out Dr. Nakamitsu. I'm sure you'll be pleased with his services. read more
