After several years as I reflect on what happened at Pombra dental I am just sad that I got scammed. (1) I was given Invisalign to correct biting - and charged several hundreds for it. I wasnt even charged via insurance for it. (2) I had to get my crown replaced 3x (same crown) because it was ill fitted so many times. At last, my new dentist resolved it by removing the wisdom tooth behind it (3) I was charged for a night guard that I dont even remember getting. I was told the invisalign will help me. Caveat: This is years ago now so I don't remember this one for sure. Sadly, because of that nightguard charge I had to pay AGAIN for another nightguard because it was in past 5 years. Don't go here. This dentist is a sweet lady but she prescribes things you don't have and overcharge naive people. I feel stupid going to her and believing her. read more

The experience was amazing and after 13 months I finished my Invisalign and loving my results. I bought a Groupon coupon because I bought Dental insurance through the ACA (aka Obamacare) and Blue Shield is taking WEEKS UPON WEEKS to get my card even though THEY STARTED TAKING MY MONEY TWO MONTHS AGO. I'm a little angry about it. Anyways, Groupon. Went in to Pombra (pro tip: It's behind Red Robin.) and was seen immediately. They made bleaching tray molds, cleaned my teeth and gave me an exam - all in under and hour. Really sweet and knowledgeable staff. Dr. Pombra and each and every member of her team that I encountered were extremely welcoming, thorough in their work, explained all of the work and steps they were taking, and also took the time to get to know me as a patient and also personally. As someone in the military, I've found it to be a luxury to have one consistent dentist. I had such a difficult time finding a civilian dental office that accepted TriCare dental and I'm so relieved that Dr. Pombra's office was one of only 5 offices in the greater Bay Area that does so. By far the best dental experience I have ever had, period. Very clean, modern, and inviting office with extremely friendly and professional staff. The equipment is well-kept and state of the art, complete with both digital x-rays and paperless registration. I was pleasantly surprised to find not only a flat screen TV in each room where I could watch TV during the procedure, and also where I was able to view my x-rays, but also a massaging chair! Dr. Pombra was so friendly, personable, and genuine, and even took the time to explain little nuances on my x-rays, the detail of which I have never gone into before with any other dentist. Best dental experience that I've ever had in my life. Seriously. I was searching for a good, not overpriced dental office in San Bruno for a pretty long time, then I found a deal on Groupon which sounded too sweet - $59 for cleaning, exam and X-rays, so I decided to check Yelp reviews.. I was SO glad that I did, my confidence grew up like 5 times and clicked the button "BUY", although it was my first experience (don't judge :D). You have to make an appointment, I was happy that it didn't take me so long, I came in on Friday, 31st. The first thing that I saw was a pretty lady at the front desk, she checked ahead of time my name, reason why I'm here, my payment method - first sign that they care about their patients. Afterwards, she signed me in and asked me to sign a couple of documents, verifying the whole information once again and telling how painful it might be, so I'm the one who is responsible. It took not more than couple of minutes, right after my chair and staff were ready to meet me 2 ladies helped me to feel comfortable: they asked me to seat in the massaging chair, regulate it according to my wills, turned on the TV, made sure that I'm satisfied with the program that was on in that moment, were always making sure that everything is good Then one of the assistants started to do the X-rays, to prepare the full picture for the doctor. X-rays were done pretty fast and during the process assistant was asking question about if I have some significant problems with my teeth, pain, etc. When the doctor came, she asked about my sensitivity and I told that I'm sensitive to air, so she reduced it later in the process, mixing it with water (I appreciated it so much!) She started with looking at my teeth, trying them if something bleeds in between gums and teeth, and then started cleaning. During the whole process, I've been treated by the doctor and the assistant, which made my visit such a pleasant thing :) When I got the mirror, my teeth were looking so bright and healthy once again! When I was walking back to the front desk, I redeemed the groupon, and that was it :) Highly recommend that place! read more

I never thought I'd write a 5 star review for a dentist, but Dr. Pombra and her staff totally deserve it! I found Dr. Pombra last August after doing some research online including reading yelp reviews - I specifically was looking only at dentists that accepted my dental insurance, but that was a fairly long list. I hadn't seen a dentist in over 10 years and knew I had a lot of fillings that needed replacement and probably a lot of cavities, too. Since then, I've seen Dr. Pombra quite a few times to get all of that work done (9 visits total for cleanings, cavities, and replacement of fillings). I waited until now to write a review, since it would be more meaningful than after my initial visit. Well, I'm now able to say that Dr. Pombra and her staff totally exceeded my expectations! Most importantly, I have confidence in the quality of the dental work I've had done with her. But she and her staff go completely beyond that. In every visit I've had, I'm impressed at how friendly and yet professional they are. They are really personable and nice to talk to, and make me feel like I'm a friend as well as a patient. The waiting room and exam rooms are great - clean and light and comfortable. My comfort is clearly of the utmost importance to Dr. Pombra and her staff. This includes a really gentle touch with the local anesthetic - about a thousand times better than with any other dentist I've ever been to. I can happily say that I no longer avoid going to the dentist in part because going to see Dr. Pombra has repeatedly been a good experience. I feel really good about finally taking care of my teeth. And although I'm not sorry that I am finally done "catching up" to my dental work, and now only need to be seen for twice-yearly routine visits, I'll be happy to return for my visit when that time comes. Going to the dentist has always been a fear of mine. So much so that I didn't go for quite a few years! Then I saw a groupon for x-rays, a cleaning AND teeth whitening trays at Pombra Dental (very close to my home which convinced me even more to buy it) and went in for my visit. The office is lovely, very clean, and the staff is warm and welcoming. I have been getting to know them well with all my recent visits. :P Due to my lack in caring for my teeth, I can not receive the whitening trays until I have fixed quite a few cavities, and yes, they will still honor that portion of the groupon, phew! :) Dr. Pombra is lovely. She's a joy to talk with and I'm happy I found a dentist that does great work and doesn't leave me in pain. She eases that fear I've had for so many years! *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED* After an absolutely horrid experience with another dentist in San Bruno; I did a lot of research and came upon Dr. Pombra. I feel so fortunate to have found her. There is plenty of free parking in front of the office. The office is clean and contemporary. The staff is friendly and well-informed. The procedures the dentist and the hygienist would be performing were explained to me in an uncomplicated and non-condescending manner; I was asked several times if I had any questions or concerns. Everyone in the office was courteous & professional. Once in the examination chair, the assistant turned on the massage chair and the personal television (nice amenities!), and took x-rays. All of the office equipment is up-to-date. Upon meeting with Dr. Pombra, I found her to be very personable and knowledgeable. She did a thorough evaluation of my mouth and of my x-rays. She spent time going over suggestions to help me improve my overall oral health. My Kids have been going to Dr. Pombra since they are 2 years old. My son who is now 8 and my daughter age 5 gets excited and looks forward to seeing their "tooth fairy" dentist every 6 months. They are very good with kids and they have this "treasure chest box" where kids can find some goody treats/toys after their teeth cleaning. It's a very good idea in keeping a positive experience for kids. I also love the teeth care-plan they give you to keep your teeth nice and healthy at home, in time for your next visit. As many others have said, this is the best dental experience I've ever had! I got lucky by finding this place on Groupon. They were more thorough and comprehensive than I've ever experienced. They told me precisely how inflamed my gums are and what that means. They didn't give the usual rundown about how to care for my teeth generically, but actually discussed with me my particular mouth and the care it requires. Additionally, often with a Groupon, I will feel pressured to buy more but they did not try to up-sell or convince me to reschedule immediately....so I WILL be back. The Groupon included cleaning, exam, x-rays and teeth whitening kit for $89 and the kit was the real deal. They molded my teeth for a perfectly fitted bleaching kit. Comfortable massage chair and overhead LCD with Direct TV. What a nice treat! I had a meticulous cleaning by the hygienist. She was very gentle yet did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. She answered all of my questions and gave me helpful tips on how to floss. Dr. Pombra is the best dentist I have ever had! She always remembers me (even when it has been over a year!) I can honestly say I really like Dr.Pombra. I was told she decorated everything in her office. She did a lovely job, it is very clean and comfortable. On my first visit I used a groupon for cleaning and x-rays. The hygienist was very sweet and when she was finished I noticed she cleaned everything, very impressive. I had an infection on my back molar gum, Dr.Pombra immediately gave me a prescription for antibiotics which I took for 5 days then I called to have my molar extracted, Jenifer scheduled me right away at a time that worked for me. The extraction was quick and painless, not only was it painless during the extraction but after as well. Dr.Pombra really cares .I took the remainder antibiotics for 5 more days. The only downside to this review is 1. I asked Jenifer at the front desk to email me the X-rays. I am still waiting. 2. X-rays were not a complete set because I used a groupon. I would highly recommend Dr. Pombra. I myself will be back to see her again. read more

The flexibility of it's late afternoon hours and accommodation is outstanding. I don't know why they have almost 5stars! I've been meaning to review this terrible dentist years ago when they were at the previous location. Cleanings...painful Fillings....poorly done Crown....poorly done She recommend that I change out my metal fillings with porcelain and they caused me to end up having a root canal because it wasn't done right. I went back to her for crown sadly and told her the whole story about that tooth and the pain, and she said that I should've told her and they would've fixed it! So I basically have her a second chance to show me she can do good work. They ruined my good teeth!! I had to pay for new X-rays for Invisalign with my orthodontist because of this! I now know that not all dentists you can trust! My Orthodontist and new dentist confirmed the bad work before I even mentioned it. read more

My family of four (which includes two children) have been regular patients of Dr. Pombra's for several years. Among the four of us, we've had cleanings, x-rays, cavities filled, crowns placed, and Invisalign treatment. Dr. Pombra and her staff (front desk, hygienists, dental assistants) are really wonderful. They are a warm-hearted bunch of people who are sensitive to patients' needs and anxiety levels, and make the whole experience very positive. Dr. Pombra is thorough, gentle, and even though I'm sure she's busy, I've never felt rushed. I have found that when I have had dental issues, she's very clear about what the options are, when a procedure needs to be done, versus when a procedure would be nice to have but isn't necessary. They currently have many COVID-19 precautions in place (masks, frequent sanitization of equipment, minimizing the number of people in the office).
