I went in to see Dr. Batchaeva for a cleaning, this was the second visit. Upon arriving, I was presented with a list of treatment plans totaling $572. I pay monthly for Delta Dental and let them know that I wanted my 6-month cleaning and that it was covered with my insurance. The doctor ignored that and told me that it would be an additional $62., I let them know that was not what I believed, but would check with Delta Dental after I leave. I also asked at the front desk about the charge and told them the same, that it should be fully covered with my insurance, and got the same response. I asked for a printout of the charges for documentation to Delta Dental. They charged me the $62 (which is $62 more than I owed them). Be aware that they are charging clients for services not needed and that are already covered by insurance! I have filed a formal complaint. read more

Very disappointing experience. I am a new patient (Sadly, had to leave my last dentist after my insurance changed--Michael Perona DDS, he and his staff are incredible). Dr. Batchaeva seems very smart and friendly, but the way I was handled from a customer service/transparency/financial perspective was problematic. Upon arrival, I was very clear that I just wanted a standard cleaning--I said this to Dr. Batchaeva and her secretary. I arrived on time, but had to wait almost an hour to even get into a chair. Then, for 20min I was taken through an exam where Dr. Batchaeva provided feedback--overall my teeth looked fine. Her tips were helpful, but I have heard most of her advice from other dentists. Her secretary then said that Dr. Batchaeva could only provide a deep cleaning, which would cost $200 out of pocket--I have excellent insurance, so this didn't make sense. I said I wanted just a standard cleaning, and she said that would be $50, out of pocket. I have never paid for my bi-annual cleaning because of insurance, so this was surprising. She then told me they did not have a hygienist available and would have to reschedule unless I chose to do the deep cleaning... The whole appt was 1.5 hours!! And, I did not even receive a cleaning...My insurance is now used up until 6months from now...I would suggest being exceptionally clear with what you need (even though I was...)and ask what will be covered by insurance. I have never had a problem like this. read more

I want to thank Dr. Batchaeva and team for my beautiful crown in my front tooth. I had a root canal done years ago and avoided doing a crown in my front in fear of it looking ugly in the front. I've been told many times I needed a crown after my root canal but i simply avoided it due to fear of it not matching. Years went by and I didn't even realize I rarely smile with my teeth showing because I didn't like the discoloration. Well then I found Dr: Batchaeva who carefully matched a front crown for me. The shape, size, color everything Ta da! It was a success! You literally cannot tell my front tooth is porcelain. She is patient and kind, and spent a lot of time making it a good color/ shape fit for me. She also fixed the left front tooth chip for me which i like a lot. She even pointed out other issues other dentist missed. I'm really happy I went there for this procedure, even though it wasn't the cheapest, I think it's worth it when it's something so obvious like front teeth. The tech who made my crown did a good job, as well as the hygienist who did my cleaning. Thanks team! Now i can smile confidentially again. This practice is truly an art! read more

It has been a long long time since I've been to the dentist and finally with the pandemic I decided I can't keep putting this and other health care off. 60 is looming in a couple years and it's only going to get worse if I don't go. Of course I had to get deep cleaning, I knew that I would. I grind my teeth and never wore a night guard. A slight aside: my son grinds his teeth, I texted him to think about a night guard so 35 years later he isn't me. I have cracks and no enamel. So I need two crowns. I also have wisdom teeth cavities. I know, why do I have my wisdom teeth? I just do. I was so worried walking in because I didn't want to get yelled at or as another reviewer put it shamed. They are right in that review, you aren't treated as an errant child, even as I am thinking to myself if my children do this to their teeth, I will haunt them. I am really glad my insurance led me to Dr. Batchaeva's office and her staff who are all super friendly. If you need dental care and are worried to make the leap, don't be. This is the best dental clinic ever I've had a good fortune to run into. A few months ago, I was in pain from a tooth infection and had to call around to see a dentist because I've not seen one for ages. Dr. Batchaeva's clinic was the only one that accepted me immediately with an appointment. I received the best treatment one could expect. Dr. Batchaeva took care of the infection right away and took time to find out the problems with my teeth. Her treatment plan was to save my teeth while keeping the cost down. After my infection was healed, I visited the clinic a few more times to have many of my teeth with receding gums and holes treated and crowns replaced as needed. I was surprised to go through all the treatments without having to take any pain killers. Now, there are no holes in my teeth. The new crowns feel natural. This is a practice I don't understand. I have been referred to this practice by my insurance provider. They have even seen me for an emergency referral for a root canal, so I am not unknown to them. My husband and son are also assigned to this practice. We have left repeated messages to arrange appointments. We understood during COVID this would be challenging -- but they have re-opened the office now. They 1) never answer the phone, 2) dont return messages and 3) have ZERO patient communications skills (no newsletter; no blast email, etc.). I came from a modern, tech-savvy practice in Chicago, so I need to adjust my expectations, but, seriously, begging a health practitioner to respond!?! Dr. Batchaeva was lovely and had a wonderful manner -- but her staff/office management leave A LOT to be desired. read more

Two years ago, I went to Albina for a consultation, and she created a treatment plan costing over $15,000, recommending multiple crowns. I got a second opinion and the dentist was shocked at the invasive and unnecessary treatments she recommended. Dr. Batchaeva will do her best to save your teeth, not to make her job easier, which is obviously sometimes takes longer than your appointment was scheduled for. It definitely worth to wait! Dr. Albina Batchaeva has been delightful. I received a deep cleaning and had some bleeding in the weeks following the procedure. I was seen again promptly, provided with a prescription mouth rinse, and the problem seems to be resolving. As with most single-practitioner offices, sometimes there is a wait, but I take this to mean that Dr. Batchaeva is giving each patient the care they need - not just the amount of time estimated for a procedure. I love Dr. Batchaeva and her staff, but I do have one caveat (that almost led me to take a star away): it's very difficult to get through to her office to make an appointment. I will say that it's worth it -- I have felt that she is a very caring dentist, and her staff seem very well-trained and are also very compassionate. Dr. Batchaeva also seems very honest (no recommendations for stuff you don't need!), and very careful in making referrals (she's sent me to two other clinicians and both have been great). She scheduled both my kids and really worked it out to accommodate our schedule as one of my kids was only around for school breaks. Dr B was super informative, and gave us options for treatment. She's conservative in her treatment planning, and not at all pushy.
