I have felt good about the dentist and office staff so far for the past year and a half. The staff in the front is very nice. There is a small parking lot, but I usually find parking, its not like they will see a hundred people at a time. This office is on Slauson near a CVS and gas station and 5/605 freeways in case you need this info. So far, I will give this dental office a solid 4-star review. read more

I was recommended this place by a good friend after I expressed how bad my past experiences were with other dental locations for my children. Her family comes her and her son had a great experience so I decided to try it. The appointment was scheduled a few months out because of course they are busy but after the service I understood why. It was worth the wait. They made my children Feel at ease and excited for following appointments. My son does get panic attacks when it comes to dentist but they were patient with him and he was able to remain calm. All the staff are professional and kind. So glad I decided to come here. Just a disclaimer for parents they do not allow you to be in the room I was very upset with this at first but all the rooms have no door and you can peek in. I had a sinus load and two implants put in at this office. I've had a stellar experience! The office staff is very professional, friendly, helpful & kind. The office is so clean it looks like a new building but I was told it's been here for 12 years. Dr. Winston is the dentist that is treating me. I've had a lot of dental care over the years, yes even implants at other offices. That said, this dentist' s professionalism, skill and integrity supersedes any that I have experienced. He's very contentious and makes sure that you thoroughly understand the procedures you'll be receiving. My experience has been completely pain free. I was a patient at Direct Dental in Pico Rivera in 2019. I was constantly calling my dental group to compare prices on some of the charges. Some should have been free, and I was being billed. The work that was done was awful and cheap work! Dr. Aaron did not do a good job!!! I am so angry!! Now, I am finding myself having to pay more money to another dentist because I need a professional who can fix the issue. I was charged a lot of money! Don't go there. Dr Danny was 85 when he retired and was an excellent dentist, but he is gone now he did work on me over 25 years ago. I had much respect for Dr Danny, he was kind and his work was excellent! The staff could be friendly but the account manager would get angry if her mistakes were found. If you do go there. Check the codes with your provider! read more

Given that this is mainly an adult dental office, I was extremely thankful with the care, patience, attention, and kindness the receptionist provided my 6 year old daughter who was terrified of going to the dentist due to a bad experience at Children's Dental Fun Zone. I wanted to provide an update regarding my experience at Direct Dental. After arriving to the office for a meeting with Natalie, I was presented with a treatment plan with a total bill of $255, while the original treatment plan had a total bill of $680. Natalie stated that a certain dental procedure would not be covered through my insurance due to the fee schedule not presenting the code under my insurance. I was told to call my insurance. After calling my insurance in the presence of Natalie, Natalie and I learned that the treatment was covered, although she was trying to bill me for this procedure. I called my insurance in the presence of Natalie because there was too much back and forth about which specific treatments were covered and which treatments were not covered. I do not understand why I am calling my insurance to determine the codes for billing when the insurance already stated that the treatment is covered. It does not make sense why I need to call my insurance when this is the responsibility of the dental office. By calling my insurance in the presence of Natalie and the insurance confirming that the procedure is covered, I saved $425. I'll say it again I saved $425. I also spoke with other dental offices to learn about the gingival irrigation service and learned that many offices do not charge for the gingival irrigation service. The Direct Dental office stated that the service of gingival irrigation is a standard of care. I don't understand why other offices provide the gingival irrigation service for free of charge when this office charges for gingival irrigation. Gingival irrigation is a free service at other offices but I will be paying the fine for this treatment. At the end of the day, I want to spread awareness so that people like you understand what I went through so that you do not lose your hard earned coin. As soon as I obtain PPO insurance I will be transitioning to a dental office that provides a comfortable experience for patients. No one should have to have to go through the mess that I have gone through to ensure that I am being billed appropriately for services covered by insurance. I am speaking out on my experience so that other guardian members are aware of the billing practices at Direct Dental so they can navigate this appropriately. read more

So I was a little confused with this dentist. I've been coming here for years even when they were open at their tiny office 2004. I've been seeing Dr Danny and during the course of the years they've given me to different dentist and Dr Danny. I didn't complain. But I saw Dr Danny last week and he told the opposite of what his associates told me about flossing and not floss. 11/12/18, I came today for my son's appointment he's three years old first of all this appointment took forever to set up. We checked it and was told our appointment was an hour ago. When I know when I made the appointment on the phone it was at 12:30. Back then they used to make courtesy call. And now they stop doing that. anyway I'm gonna take my child to this new dentist. I'm never coming back here again after 15 years of being their patient. read more

Dr Aaron is the best dentist I have ever had and I've had many dentist, I woke up with a cracked filling called direct Dental for an appointment I asked specifically for dr Aarron he has the lightest touch I never even felt the shot to numb which usually is a kinda pinch feeling. Anyway I highly recommend him I went to my appointment and he said I would need a root canal (has anyone fallen asleep during a root canal lol well I did haha) he seems to know the exact right amount to numb by the time I got home I was no longer numb and could eat my dinner I'll be going back in 2 weeks for my permanent crown also Destiny was his assistant also was very good with the suction I never faced on my saliva how many ppl can say they had a great relaxing dental visit well I can . I had a horrible experience at Direct Dental. I went for a consultation for a tooth that has been bothering me. First I was greeted by a very rude receptionist who was upset because I was there two minutes early. But that's not the worst part, after my examine the doctor stepped out and when she did I looked over at the medical utensils she was using and they were rusted and the equipment was dirty! I was horrified that she used rusted tools in my mouth. (I have attached pictures). I hope they cleanup their office and get new tools as it can be very dangerous. I visited direct dental with a broken front tooth. I was nervous not knowing if they were going to be able to help me because of the weird position of the broken tooth. Natalie helped me get started where I was then sent to their uptown location where the specialist would fix my tooth and also do a deep cleaning. Both offices were awesome. They accommodated me well and made sure I was as comfortable as possible and also explained to me all procedures thoroughly. I highly recommend both locations. Dr Chou is the best! I've had to have some work done and he and his staff have been wonderful! He is very patient as one side of my mouth does not numb up very easily and requires the assistance of Dr. Winston. Great dental office! Dr. Aaron Hwang was phenomenal! He did my anesthesia and I literally felt nothing AT ALL!! No wait time, I walked in and was taken in for treatment 5 minutes later & walked out 30 minutes later. Literally in & out. I just recommended my sister to this office. This was my second visit. My first visit I waited about 30 minutes but was in & out in 30 minutes also. So far, good experience at this office. read more

I had to read through the reviews to see if it was just me and it looks like a mixed bag of good and bad experience for less then 10 people. I thought ok so we already know fake reviews are easy to produce by in-house personnel and easy to spot when the reviewers only have 0 friends. But there were good and bad reviews. So it's going to be telling you how I feel too. We've been here five times. Three for me and twice for my daughter and wife. Two of my waits were over two hours. Then the wait in the room another 25 minutes. Only one semi fast wait time of about 25 minutes. My daughter and wife waited an hour and a half. And today the appointment was at 3:30 and my daughter didn't get called in till 5:30. It's 5:53 and I'm writing this review. I expect to wait a little but not every time!!! And this long. At times there is no staff at the front desk for 20 minutes at a time. Often they are standing around talking about entertainment and jibber jabber. They are not alway that nice I say average personalities and I always hear the excuses like just a second ago to mr Rivera saying "they are cleaning a room for you.., I don't know what going on its been crazy lately ". Really seems crazy every time. Not 88 bucks for two fillings. Hmmm I don't know what the standard cost is. I think I'm disappointed. read more
