I liked PHD Dental. The guy who did my x-rays was the fastest x-ray person I've ever dealt with in my life. Every dentist I go to always says I have cavities and sometimes I wonder if I did or didn't. This man said I didn't and I appreciate that. I'm not saying other dentists have drilled holes in my teeth to make money, but I do believe that it could have been a possibility. LA is full of fraudulent Fools. This Dentist was very easy-going and told me that I grind my teeth. I totally felt like one of my teeth was going to fall out and I was really scared and he told me everything was going to be OK and that's not going to happen but I do need a root canal. And he told me that the specialist that he's referring me to..... well it's covered. They did say that I need a mouthguard and that would help me to stop grinding my teeth. I was going to get the mold and do a payment plan to get the $750 mouthguard but right now it's not in my budget, so I'm just going to get one from CVS and if that doesn't work, I will put the money into the real deal. I had few teeth pulled out and my gum was severely damaged by the dentist, I went back to see if they could fix it, in instead the dentist said that the tooth were my gum was damaged has to be pulled out, meaning they crossed me to loose my tooth. I am looking into taking legal action for medical malpractice. read more

I was too mislead with all the good reviews from customers. I made an appointment for my teen daughter May 1st at 6pm who preferred the female doctor who happens to only be there Wednesdays, they called me the day of saying the doctor is out they reschedule me for 5/8. Any who, got there on time for the appointment after 1 hour of waiting she finally gets called in the exam room, we waited another hour and nothing at this point I'm pissed already so we start walking out to the front the gentleman comes to us and asked if we want to reschedule, I'm like really, I'm already irritated. Long story short I reschedule for 5/14, and guess what they called me today (5/13) to reschedule for 5/29 like really heck no I'm not coming back. read more

I had left this review on Google but it was removed.... I had scheduled an appointment that was made on September 30th for December 9th. I had multiple text reminders and emails sent from them letting me know I had an appointment coming up. I show up at 9am to my appointment and no one is there. I was there until 9:20 and gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought they were running late only to find out they were closed. I called the receptionist on Monday and she told me they were closed on Saturdays until February.If that was the case someone should have looked at the schedule and seen there was an appointment scheduled on a day they were closed. I would not recommend visiting Dr. Bina. I found him to be unprofessional and abrupt when speaking to his patients. You can feel his negative energy, almost as if he doesn't want you there. In my experience, he walked in without acknowledging us or even saying hello. It was clear to me that he was in a bad mood by the way he was communicating with me. He rushed out of the room without saying anything after I asked him for a referral note and left me wondering if our visit had ended. We didn't see him after that. Prior to this appointment, the front desk staff and the doctor had some type of miscommunication which led to my brother having to take medication he did not need. Perhaps having an office manager would be a great idea to ensure the flow of communication and patient needs are met. Or simply hire staff who are competent. I lost my retainer 3 months after and I called to see how much a replacement is just for my top retainer keep in mind. 350 dollars for a replacement. It's disrespectful to peoples time and shows how disorganized this place is. Also there's this chick with blonde hair and glasses that humiliated and embarrassed my mother and has a nasty ass attitude. She's needs to watch her tone and her actions because the right person will put her in check. Basically you leave a review and you entered a raffle to win a "65 inch flat screen tv" that supposedly they raffle every month . That same tv has been sitting their forever. It's sad that they use these types of tactics to get a ton of good feedback. Besides the point, I was very much unimpressed with their work. I ended up getting a crown for something I really didn't need. My crown and my fillings came off ridiculously too fast. They did such a poor job that I completely lost that tooth and now I am in the process of getting an implant. It was very painful and very expensive in the long run. Well, where do I start. Had me waiting in the lobby for almost two hours when I arrived on time for my appointment. Had me wait another hour in the exam room plus another 45 minutes to actually to get dental work done. Got one of my teeth ready for a crown placement. They put a temporary crown while they make the real one. Well so far the two temporary crowns that they have given me have fallen within 24 hours. I have called and requested that my real crown be expedited so I can get this over and done with but the staff and the dentist have ghosted me so now I have to chew my food with a shaved down tooth which irritates my gums, until September 18. Honestly I'm impressed that this place has high rating. I got work done here and the dentist that "took care of me" mentioned I had 2 cavities. So trusting them I got them "taken care" of. Well, within the week part of the filling fell off and now I'm having more issues with that. Wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I've been to PHD Dental a few times and have had from deep cleaning to pulled teeth. Every visit was pleasant and very professional. From getting greeted when you walk in to making sure all your questions are answered on your way out. I only experienced one hiccup in the few years I've been coming here. Jenny over charged me once but it wasn't her fault she was just charging me the balance on my account but she was more than happy to refund me. This place is good if you're a first time patient. I do not recommend this place at all!!! They see patients in between patients so basically you should not get work done here unless you want to spent 4+ hours for work that should take 1 he - 2 hours. Pre covid times I would make my appointment early morning and probably had to wait 1 hour just to be seen by the dentist. Yesterday I probably waited ~25-30 minutes max. I've seen many dentists in my lifetime and what really stood out about PHD Pico Rivera is the level of care the staff has towards your needs. The whole country has faced financial struggles during Covid but their office manager Edith is so sweet and caring you know she truly loves her job and it shows. I really didn't think braces would be something we could make happen for our older kids but Edith handled and worked with us to make it happen. I like this place because after going to like 2 different places I had trouble looking for a place I feel comfortable at. They're fast and really easy to understand. Plus, they help with coast of something you need. They don't give you the run around. The staff and dentist that attend me are super nice and patient.
