Direct Home Energy Solutions is just one incarnation of a company selling construction services for the purpose of making your home energy efficient. I cannot speak to the quality of their services, rather this is in regards to their advertising practices. Both my home and my mobile phones are on the DNC list, but I continue to get repeated telemarketing calls from this business. They claim that they were asked to call me by the Green Home Investment Program, a made-up organization that refers potential customers to their network of DBA's. They were interested in first replacing all our windows, next was texture coating our home, third thing was updating our heating/cooling. The telemarketer was just launching into his spiel about energy efficiency when I stopped him. I asked what the company name was. He said Direct Home Energy Solutions and that they were being asked to call people by the Green Home Investment Program (GHIP). Turns out that Green Home Investment Program is just an entity they created to refer customers to their network of businesses, all of them either owned, controlled, or otherwise majorly affiliated with a single person. Green Home Investment just informs you of any rebates available such as HERO program. All of these businesses have large numbers of complaints against them for illegal telemarketing calls. My phone is listed in the national do not call list. These people call me anyway. What part of do not call do you have trouble understanding? Stop calling me! Update to my review: Months later I am still getting calls - every day! I am a prisoner of my own phone number. I answered the phone several times with the goal of asking them again stop calling. There is always silence and then a delay. The call is then transferred to a telemarketer for the sales pitch. I have repeatedly asked that they refrain from calling me and to remove me from their list. The harassment continues!!! Either they are paying a service to repeatedly harass people with robo calls, or they are perpetrating this phone terrorism themselves. Either way it needs to stop. Do not reward these people with your business. There are plenty of other law abibing businesses out there that can repair your home. I needed windows for my fixer-upper home I bought from a bank, so that I could get the property in condition to QUALIFY for Home Owner's Insurance. I needed the windows quickly so that I could paint and get some flooring in. What a MESS Direct Home Energy Solutions created! First, the Salesman that sold the contract wrote it up for the WRONG windows! I did not want RETROFIT windows, I asked repeatedly for NAIL FIN WINDOWS. Big difference! When the guy came out to measure the windows, I repeated what I wanted to him, but he stated that he was "just measuring." They should know, they are a WINDOW company! OK, I just wanted to be sure because I could not read their contract which consisted of "X"'s and "O"s. I am usually pretty good at reading contracts, which I studied in my First Year of LAW SCHOOL. I was assured "It's Fine!" I was assured that my project would be complete within thirty (30) days, and my concern that the windows were so large scaffolding would be needed were unfounded.They claimed their bond would cover my concerns of injury on the job. Really? Even if they act outside of the guidelines of their bond? When the windows came, they were the wrong ones, RETROFIT. The installers eyes were as big as plates when they saw that they were expected to hoist these huge windows up ladders with ropes! Just terrible! I kept telling them "WRONG WINDOWS!" but they kept going until I could get someone with authority that spoke English to get them to stop! We then had to re-order the right windows, do some change orders, order scaffolding, get a city permit.....OMG! Thirty more days, I was promised. Well, with the City Permit came other requirements to sign off the windows to include low flushing toilets, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, low water shower heads, aerators for the sinks....OMG! Of course, the re-ordered windows did NOT come within 30 days. Nope. Then, when the City Inspector came, they had the WRONG GLASS in the windows by the French Door. It should be some Shatter Glass? Good thing I had the City Inspector on site to tell the Window Company what glass they needed to use BY PERMIT. There are a lot of other problems here folks, and a lot of time off work to be on site for all this installation. Good thing U Tube has videos of window installation so I can check to see if things are being done correctly. I am really sure this company is taking a loss on my $26,000.00 worth of Anlin windows, but I have to scream and holler to be heard over their excuses! There just doesn't seem to be any communication between their Sales agents, project managers, window measures and the window installers. I am now over 3 months past the due date, and with my authorized funding reaching its deadline, I will have to take a compensation for some of the problems that at this point won't be resolved but should have been anticipated. I have to add that when Rick the Production Manager came out to my house he really was a great guy. Honest, and was really interested in making things right not only for me, but for the next customer. That got him two more stars in my book! read more

They call your cell phone and take up your minutes. I too am on the Do Not Call List, but they call anyway. They say they are connected with San Diego County and part of the Go Green program from the state of California. They tell you that they are the only company that the county has to provide homeowners to get the discounts that the city has been given from the state of San Diego. When asked for documentation, they give you their website and a false contractor's license. I called the county of San Diego to check up on this company. None of it was true. I would be cautious with this company and have chose not to go with them because of their dishonesty. read more

This has got to be the worst company my friend and I have ever dealt with. If I didn't know this business was real, I would think it is a scam. It is unreal the amount of incompetence, laziness, poor workmanship, and lack of transparency these people exhibit. Just so anyone that cares to read this; I have extensive construction experience and am even in the process of reroofing her house. So, this began by this company charging 19,000 dollars to paint her house... Yes 19k. I was fucking awe struck when I heard that quote. Surely they would be coating the house in gold! But no, just standard energy efficient paint. The bill she was given wasn't even itemized, to shed some light on cost calculations. Next, everything that could wrong, did go wrong. The crew working on the house did not want to listen to what my friend wanted done. Her requests were definitely in the realm of reality, because when I drove over to figure out why they were being difficult; they heeded what I had to say with no problem. Ok, so openly sexist crew aside, they were lazy: showing up every day past 10am. When I'm on a job, you better believe I am at the door at 8am sharp regardless if I need to go to the shop at 5 in the damn morning. Next, the work was half assed, scratch that, no assed. Paint wasn't applied evenly, rotted wood siding was replaced but only on visible areas; they skipped the hard parts. The wood siding that was still good, they sanded so poorly and unevenly, that they left crescent shaped gouges all over. Let's just say the list goes on, and I've already written a wall of text. To wrap things up; I ended up having to make several more trips to lay down the law. After 2 weeks of phone call culminated in a visit from the project manager, where he promised that in a another week, he and a crew would be out here to fix everything. It is now 11am on that day. I'm here waiting with my friend, missing work. The cherry on top is we called the office, and nothing is on the schedule... 19k can't even buy adequate customer service.... read more

Wow! That's all I can say. this guy Mike Newman came in with window sample in tow and proceeded to tell me about his career, then he asked me about mine and I declined. I expressed that I am in mfg. sales of capital equipment, I understand the process, but I have done my research and know what I want. Just want to get some details of the window and a price. He showed me the window which was pretty standard to other windows that I have purchased that are dble paned, etc. Then he wanted to go back to the car and get an example of the glass. Now, he had already explained in detail how they make their glass - great! I said, Let's measure and so you can provide a quote. I do not need to see anything else." He was so upset at me, that he packed up everything, didn't answer any other questions and stated he would NOT be providing me with a quote. Wierd!!!!! So I had a 5:00 appointment. Daniel showed up at 5:30 & blamed it on the traffic. I had specifically requested an appointment to get an estimate to stucco my house from Joe Higgins, telemarketer who called me. Made it clear I didn't want a coating, I wanted stucco. Daniel showed up & tried to sell me coating. Said no, I want stucco. He said let me check if we still have stucco people. I was not happy & told him. I said I was very specific with what I wanted & I also said after reading Yelp reviews & a Better Business Bureau claim, I said we were done. He started arguing that they had an A+ rating. I insisted we were done & he said yea your not for us. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I am very pleased with the entire project done on my home. I had Direct install the Owens Corning roof recently. I was very happy with the crews. They cleaned up after themselves and were very courteous. They were cautious not to break or damage anything. Rick was very thorough and informative from the beginning.
