We had contacted a local company and, while the quote and scope seemed adequate, the plan for condenser placement was not great and I had sticker shock. So I went to YELP and found JL Martin. I am so glad I did! Jared toured the home, and came up with a great plan for a new system and was able to come in around 3K less that the previous company. I appreciated the 'out of box' thinking! This included working with the city permit process as well. The biggest hold up was actually the city acknowledging and passing the plan. Once that happened the JL Martin team scheduled quickly and the install was completed in under a day. The install team was incredibly respectful, explained everything that they were doing, and took great pains to be as unobtrusive as possible. They gave me the guidance on what to expect with the state inspection and city, made sure I understood what the filter requirements would be in the future and the city signed off within 10 days of install. I could not have asked for a better experience! They really work with you and everyone, from installer to office staff to upper management were amazing, responsive and helpful. Then they said there was tree root discovered in the line. They quoted $13,000 more to resolve it. There were no options provided for hydrojetting and a liner. We do not know anything about plumbing, so we did not question the additional cost. We had to trust the techs providing the service. We requested a refund and the company offered $4,000.00. We feel that given the cost, we are warranted a higher refund. The company refused. Although the owner states that options were given to my mother, they were not. I, (daughter), was there at the time of the tech's explanation of the work and so was my cousin. The tech spoke to my mother in Spanish, my cousin speaks and understands Spanish, and she also stands firm that no options were given to my mother regarding the option of hydrojetting and liner. If there were options my mother would have chosen the lesser cost. We are very upset with the dishonesty of this company.
