I gave been going to Direct Offroad for almost 2 years. They have helped me with my truck a lot. I got a bed topper, some really nice Toyo Open Road tires and Bilstein shocks and struts. I have been happy with all these upgrades. They also do my oil changes and tire rotations a few times a year. Recently in October they serviced my transmission changing the filter and screen plus flush and change out the fluid. They also flushed the radiator and replaced coolant and top and bottom radiator hoses. Servicing the differential and flush/change out brake fluid was also done during this batch of service. It would have been much more fun to buy new wheels but sometimes you gotta think ahead. read more

Took my truck to fix an upper control arm that had a critical screw loose, they fixed the issue only to be told that I had to bring the truck back to replace the bushings. They charged me 371.00 just to put a loose screw back and tighten the one from the other side. We'll let me tell you that 3 times they told me they were going to return my call since they were checking on the status of the bushings and I guess I wasn't that important as a customer because they never did. I was willing to give these guys a try and they failed on something so simple. I would not recommend this place since they don't take the time to call back their customers. read more

Factory motorhome shocks were soft and ride quality was soft. tendency to sway at highway speeds when semi's pass. Pat at Offroad Direct suggested "HD Shocks". The piston size of the HD's was like twice the diameter of the factory shock. No more sway coach handles like a sports car. Bought their recommended Firewire "Better quality" led tail/brake/backup LED light strip about a year ago. They installed it. Within a few months, some of the LEDs were out. They replaced it. Within a short time same problem. They eventually replaced it. Within a few months, same problem, but after several visits/phone calls during which a different person each time promised to contact Firewire about a 3rd replacement, they just stopped returning calls. I called Firewire and they told me they thought Direct Offroad had gone out of business. They said the only (2) light strips like mine ever returned were from Direct, and immediately sent me a replacement. In the overall picture, I was not important enough to take care of. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Times are tough and shops are hard to come by and this one the only one we could get our jeep into...WAIT FOR A DIFFERENT SHOP TO GET YOU IN! My husband's first phone conversation was with a very informative, attentive and customer service driven person who said he was in Arizona and we chose to give our service to this shop based on that conversation and that gentleman...it all went down hill after that. Took in our brand new jeep...less then 200 miles. Lift/Wheels/Tires: $7378 Didn't order all parts needed to do the job so had to return and still not have job complete. Have a tire sensor light stuck on now since it's been in there and they don't know how to fix it and won't return phone calls regarding it. When originally picked both office personnel acted shocked we asked for our brand new take off wheels and tires. We presumed all our other brand new take off parts where in the vehicle and in a hurry didn't think about it till we got home an hour away and realized we had nothing. Called next day asking for our parts, after HOURS of wait for a return call my husband was told "I have my hands on your parts"...we have a box of rusted, old, dirty parts and lug nuts that are not off our jeep, not new and look like they were scraps found in the trash. read more

These guys do really nice work. I was having a problem with my air suspension on my Ford expedition which the dealer told me would cost over $5000 to fix. If I had known that was a potential problem, I never would've purchased the vehicle in the first place. I wanted a fix that wouldn't have to be redone, so direct Offroad was able to switch my air suspension out for springs and put a 2" lift on it. We've used Direct Offroad for years now. Lots of time and money has gone into my 2014 Jeep rubicon. Pat has guided me on what is best for my rig for the type of wheeling and daily driving I do. I would recommend using them anytime somebody is looking to get their rig trail ready or whatever their needs are. I've spent thousands and thousands of money with Pat and DO and Pat has ALWAYS backed his work. IE: Last year I had new gears put in my Jeep by direct Offroad. I had a leveling kit installed in September 2021 right after purchasing my 2021 Ford F-150 FX4 quad cab. It was an inexpensive kit installed by a tire and wheel business in East Bakersfield, and when I arrived home I realized the kit they installed did not properly level the truck by a full 1". Some time later, I went to Direct Off Road on Rosedale highway to get the truck leveled correctly and they did a superior job. The truck is now level and it actually looks level and drives much better. I should have had Direct Off Road do the job in the first place, but went the cheap route. I am very disappointed of this business. I am a travel nurse. Had an assignment In Bakersfield last January. Mid April, I decided to have my Ram 1500 lifted, and went to Direct Offroad as the reviews seemed promising. I got there, met with Jake, manager. He answered all my questions. I was very satisfied than.... He found the lifting kit, gave me the cost. He called the company and than told me that kit would arrive mid-may, which I was ok with , as my assignment there was ending end of June. He kinda assured me it will get done , and would schedule an appointment as soon as lifting kit arrive. I gave $2000.00 down for him to order kit n went on my way... Comes mi April, than end of it. Have not heard a word.... I then stopped by the shop to inquire about, to be told it should be in transit.... I then reiterated to Jake my nervousness, since as I said, my contract there was getting closer to ending. But I was patiently waiting and waiting... I called the shop few times.... To be told same answer: we have not heard nor received anything... On last week of June, I stopped there and was able to see Jake. Still nothing. I told him than to cancel the work, as I was leaving the area. He then told me verbally that there was no problem at all with that. He will refund me the deposit $$. I then told him I was coming to FL for a contract. Jake offered me to find a shop where i was heading that could do the installation, and he would just change the shipping address to there. Again, I was happy with that. Arrived in FL, i found the shop, and after discussing with Roberto, at Direct Offroad, that told me a date that kit should be delivered, I made an appointment with Austin, at new shop in Fl.... Weeks passes.... No kits arrived. Had to cancel appointment made. I called few times to Direct Offroad to speaks to Jake.... Took few tries to get to speak to him. I inquired and than told him my contract here was again reaching the end, and since I did not get kit, to go ahead and cancel the order. He again agreed to it, telling me he would get to Kelly, $$$ office and i should receive the refund within 7-10 days, minus of course the fees for cards... Now.... All this is since mid April... I have yet to see the refund. Jake did leave me voice male & a text few weeks back, after again my inquiry about this situation.... Told me it was getting done that dame day, 7-10 days back to my bank acct.... Bla bla bla Today, I sent him AGAIN a text, and his response was , and I quote:" I will have to talk to Kelly, as it is not my department " Come on man.... What takes so damn long??? After doing business with a couple other 4x4 shops in town that I wasn't impressed with I decided to try Direct Offroad to get new tires for my sons Jeep. I don't have any experience with what size tires to buy for a vehicle with a lift and any modifications that might be needed (spacers, tire well cutting) but Art Rubio was very good at explaining how it all works without making me feel dumb. He also explained about the tire warranties or lack of for the tires I was interested in getting. He made a few suggestions on some tires and my son picked from them. He ordered the tires mid day they arrived the next morning and were installed on the jeep by the end of the day. My wife and I just went to browse through the place to check out their inventory when we met Pat and Randy. At the time, we never new they were the owners. Anyways, Randy and Pat (husband and wife) were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Long story short, we really like the add-ons they recommended and installed in our 2015 Jeep. Also, and while at the shop, one of the staff (Art) saw my lifted F-250 and suggested that I get an alignment. I agreed, and by doing so, they made some corrections that made my truck turn better and smoother - let alone save some tire tread. The point here, is that my truck was lifted by a local shop, and the corrections made by Direct Off- Road, was because of the poor workmanship from the other. I found out about this shop on social media (I'm not sure which site), and wow, what a pleasant surprise to find a business who understands, service, quality, and value. Great to work with! Trustworthy, knowledgeable, and service oriented. They knew what I wanted from the poor description I gave them for the set up on my truck and they took care of everything. They worked within my budget and exceeded my expectations. I wanted my truck (2015 GMC Sierra Double Cab) to have a more aggressive Offroad look (even though I rarely go Offroad), and they did a fantastic job not only giving me the appearance I wanted, but the quality of work and craftsmanship was second to none. I will be a customer as long as I have automotive needs for my truck and I highly recommend for people to check these guys out if you ever have any automotive needs. Art and Brandy were very helpful and gave me great advice on how to build credit (though, that's unrelated to what I was there for). I watched Art make a few calls, got me affordable, quality parts, and got me approved for $750 in financing. Direct Offroad replaced my front wheel bearings, my front struts, my front tires, and gave me an alignment. My car drives like it's brand new now. With the financing provided I was able to make my car safe to be on the road again with only $17 out of pocket today. Will definitely be coming back with any other issues my vehicle has. I even came back to thank Art again after 5 minutes of driving because it's been so long since I've driven my car without immense road noise. Can't describe how grateful and pleased I am to do business to such a wonderful company! If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I recently replaced the front axle on my Jeep Wrangler JK and needed an alignment after the install. If I could do the alignment myself I would have, but I don't have the expensive machinery to get it right. I decided to call Direct Offroad even after having several other bad experiences with the company, however decided to give them another chance to impress me with great and timely service, but that was far from the case. I called two days ahead and made an appointment at 10am to have my Jeep aligned and told me it would take about an hour, which is pretty standard. I showed up on the appointment date at 945 am and dropped my Jeep off with the female at the counter. She told me that their were two other vehicles ahead of mine and asked if I was going to stay and wait or leave. I told her I was going to grab breakfast and I would come back later. Well, 4 hours later after running errands and hearing no response from them, I decided to pass by the business, only to find my Jeep had not moved from the spot I parked it. I was a little erritated, but decided to head home and give them more time. 4 pm comes around and I decided drive down and see what was going on, considering my Jeep had been there for 6 hours. Upon pulling in the parking lot, what do you know, my Jeep again had not moved!!! I go inside and talk to the female who tells me she's sorry and that they were finishing up a vehicle and my Jeep would be going on the rack soon. I ended up running to the store for about 30 minutes and returned to my Jeep being on the alignment rack. WooHoooo!!!! Well, not so much. After another 30 minutes I get a call from direct Offroad, who tells me my Jeep won't start and they can't figure out what happened. I was in the parking lot and walked over to find my dual battery breaker switch to be broken. Not that big of a deal, however it was now 530pm and no battery shops were open. They scrambled around and found one, however decided to charge me $35 for the part, again no big deal considering I've been driving back and fourth all day for a very basic alignment. So after solving the electrical problem, I got out of the shop and stand outside. I was approached by the female employee who tells me the breaker would be $35 and the cost to install it would be $88!!!! What the heckkkkk!!!! $88 for two, yes TWO Phillips screws. I told her that was outrageous and I would do it myself and had the tools in my Jeep. She then tells me," Well, we will figure it out," and walks back inside the shop. Within 2 minutes, waaalaaaa, my Jeep fires up and the mechanic pulls out for a test drive. So the 30 minute install was a 2 minute job. I figured they would surely not charge me for the install after making me wait 8 hours for an alignment that was estimated to take 1 hour. The mechanic returns from the test drive and gives the employee the blessing to release my Jeep. I go inside and am hit with a $187 bill for an alignment, battery breaker and you guessed it, an $88 dollar install fee, which I was not told I was being charged for. The female churched up some BS about how they tighentened a bunch of wires and cleaned up the battery area to try and justify the cost for the install. I was furious and she knew it, however would not try and fix the problem or try and make it right. Really Direct Offroad, you were willing to lose a customer for $88, shame on you. I will be telling every friend I know about my experience and will most definitely direct them elsewhere. Shame on you for everything I experienced and not only making it right, but verifying how awful your company is. Good luck in the future. Buyers/customers beware. Well, I wanted to write this review. I have done business with Pat for quite a long time now. While I was traveling out of town heading on vacation I had a blow out. This blow out really destroyed my right front fender. Well I called Pat and asked if you could get me in for some new tires. He said that he would be ready for me in an hour. Well by the time I changed my tire and put on the spare I was headed to his shop. After about an hour or so, I was back on the road. Such great service. I was able to get to Mammoth with only being 2 hours late. He really goes out of his way to support his customers. He is very concern about the quality of work his employees do. He takes pride in his business and he is very knowledgeable about the off road business. When I was going to have my jeep lifted, he was the only one who asked me if I had a hard top. I asked why, he said because of the added weight to determine the right leafs springs. Well, I was very impressed. My jeep was done right. I am still amazed how nice it drives down the rough roads.
