I having nothing but good things to say about American Offroad as well as Misty and Shay. I recently went by there with an unusual problem. My 360 degree off road hitch developed a little too much play in it and needed to be snugged. The tools needed are big and I didn't have what I needed to manipulate the slack in the hitch. I went by their and was happy to pay for labor to tighten the swivel on the hitch. They adjusted the hitch, and wouldn't let me pay anything. I will certainly be back. They helped repair my 2017 Jeep Wrangler JKU after another local shop (Direct Off-road on Rosedale Hwy) installed my gears and suspension incorrectly. I suggest to NOT use this place of business. They checked the installation of Ben's lift kit & did the alignment. A short time later bolts fell off letting the shock (spring) fall off. They blamed it on his dad saying he installed it wrong, even though they had already checked & cleared it before this happened. We took it back they charged us to fix it. Yesterday the bolt to the upper control arm fell out while my son was driving. We had it towed home. Ben's dad talked to them today & they refuse to make it right without paying AGAIN to fix the same thing for the 3rd time, not that I would trust them as this would be the 3rd time in approx 6 months. If yelp would let me give 0 stars, I would. We will definitely be taking our business elsewhere. Completely unimpressed with their business & refusal to stand behind their own work. Shady! read more

Before I choose to do business with someone I always do my homework. I read reviews, research the business and will often go in an do a trial run to see what the customer service is like. One day I decided to stroll into American Offroad. I had a pretty good idea what I wanted and I wanted to see what they would say. When I came in, I was immediately greated which is something I appreciate. I talked about the lift I wanted and after a bit of discussion I was brought into their shop and shown what they were currently working on. Everything was broken down to me and I could tell they were very knowledgeable and passionate about the work they do. I must admit, I was impressed. I honestly didnt need to hear anymore... I knew that they knew what they were talking about. I ordered my lift, new shocks and a set of new tires. When the day came for them to do the work, I dropped my Jeep off and it was completed by the next day. im happy with what they did and recommended them to anyone who needs modifications done to their jeep. I went to their shop to see about getting a lift installed. After waiting an hour and only being acknowledged by a customer hanging out in the waiting room someone came in and finally asked if I had been helped. After multiple up-sale attempts from the employee we finally got my needed parts ordered and was told we could do the install the next week sometime Wednesday-Friday. The following Wednesday comes and I call to check on the status of my parts. One had arrived while one had not and they said they would let me know when it arrives. On mid day Friday I get a call that my last part arrived. I then go to pick up my parts since we no longer have time to do the install at their shop. Upon inspecting my packages I find that the part I was waiting on wasn't ordered and shipped until the Wednesday I called to see where it was. Additionally, my local shop did the install for HUNDREDS less than I was quoted for the work from American Off-road. read more

Bought front and rear gears from Yukon vendor in Las Vegas, NV September 2022, Have had to had rear gears replaced 3 times in less than a year or a little over. The first time was less than 6 months because the limited slip and gears broke. When the gears came apart it caused more damage to the bearings, seals, and other parts in the rear end. Never had any other company that did not cover parts and labor. It ended up costing me almost $1000 for the damage their product caused. Paid for a lifetime warranty and was told after damage, a lifetime warranty is only valid on the first set. Less than 5 months later, the same product failed and cost me another $1000 for parts and labor. Worst company I've ever dealt with. So far, it has cost me over $5000. I will be going with another company. The vendor tried to say it i was my fault. I do not beat on my vehicle. The Jeep was not put into 4-wheel drive since the day I had the gears put in. They do not warranty their labor unless they think they did something wrong. In turn, they are saying they will never be wrong. read more

I came in on a Friday and a technician looked at the problem with my air bags. After troubleshooting they informed me air compressor was bad. Technician recommended I replace compressor and wiring and remote. I was told they could get parts by Monday or Tuesday. I put down 50% and was told they would call me when parts arrived. I got call Tuesday morning and came in for install. Technician showed me the placement of new parts. I'm very satisfied with the quality of work. I recommend American Offroad read more

This is a Family owned business that relies on Good Work Ethic and Good Quality parts as while as understanding your needs. I was very pleased with the work, cost and time they spent in repairing my Jeep. Everyone is approachable and friendly as they have real concern for your needs. They go out of their way to do the little extras that make you feel comfortable. All work is done Professionally and you are kept in the loop while the work is being done. I had problems with my lift kit on my 2014 Tundra making noise, so I took my truck to American Offroad and they did an excellent job fixing the issues with my truck. The lift was previously improperly installed by a dealership here in Bakersfield. Come to find out ALL the lift kit hardware was installed backwards, and they stacked a 4" metal spacer with a 2" plastic leveling spacer to make it a 6" lift that proceeded to damage the other components of the lift kit. American Offroad went above and beyond and worked hard to fix all the issues with my truck. I recommend them for all your off road and daily driver service and repairs. read more

Our truck broke down on the side of the road! We spent 45 mins of looking for someone to tow our truck and repair it at the same time. They couldn't tow it but they were able to get a friend of theirs to tow it to their shop for a lot less than was quoted by other tow shops in the area. They worked for 2 hours to get us back on the road to Antioch. Unfortunately something else was wrong with the truck that made it unsafe to drive but their service and hard work to get it fixed was great. read more

Their was an issue getting my wheels but it was completely out of their ha d something they couldn't control because of the pandemic. Took my truck in to have it worked on. I was called and told it was ready and when I picked it up, I noticed halfway home that my door panel was cracked and that my check engine light was on. I called American Offroad and spoke to an employee there and explained to them that the panel was broken and the engine light was on and he stated it was not their problem and it must have came in that way. I had no scratches, no cracks and no lights on when I dropped my truck off. I would actually give them no stars but I have to pick one. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
