ADT Customer Service is an absolute horror show. I called to get a simple explanation about a self install door sensor after I ordered the sensor. This led me down the road to hell. Over a 2 day period I made 17 calls to ADT Customer Service to stop this order and, out of pure frustration, to cancel my account. No luck. These calls ended in the agent passing me on to someone else who passed me on to someone who essentially said why did I get this call and passed me on to someone else and then I get a hang up tone. Most of the calls ended in disconnect while waiting for some to respond. When trying to cancel my account I was rudely transferred to someone else..waited and waited...nothing. In all my years of dealing with customer support departments I've never ever dealt with such a mess. STAY AWAY FROM ADT!!! read more

Do NOT sign up for ADT security. Very expensive and they make it impossible to cancel service. Also is impossible to get someone on the phone for service. Seems to be a common theme these days is to sign people up for subscriptions and then make it impossible to cancel. I waited on hold more than 1hour and then was bombarded with every sales pitch they could throw once I told them I was cancelling. Can find less expensive options for home security with better service. Stay away from ADT!!! read more

How frustrating it has been to contract with ADT. We have spent well over a $1,000 dollars and signed long term contract for $53 per moth to get our Home secure with a state of the art system. It took us many hours of our time waiting for a technician to arrive and many more hours for the installation to be complete. They spent very little time explaining how the system work as we were both very tired and it was late into the evening by the time the system was up and running. They had to come back to fix simple items and install an additional camera that we thought was on the original order another $270 with no discount offered after repeated requests. We still are afraid to use the system as the alarm has gone off multiple times without our understanding why. Good luck and. Buyer beware!!! read more

They installed malfunctioning cameras in my home and in the case of our truck being stolen from our driveway, the camera caught NOTHING at all except the truck leaving and damaging property nearby. They installed a failed system. I am unsure if it was a used system the installer put but it does not work. I DO NOT TRUST ADT nor will I ever recommend this service to anyone even my enemies! They have the absolutly the worst policies and just want to charge for security your not receiving. The PULSE package is a scam and gets flakey, though they can track you movements and you can log in on your desktop it stops working on your cell phone and they try to tell you it's your phone - 699.00 please if you want to cancel. They send flyers with one price and have you sign a small pad and you don't find out until you are billed that you did not get the package on the flyer nor the Visa Card - 699.00 please if you want to cancel. When I asked what Gov Regulator sees over you they said " no one " when it is the FTC. It is like talking to a sweat shop run by the mob. read more

I had lost my fiance and we have a special needs son so I called ADT everything sounded great but when they put in the system only one of the cameras work I couldn't alarm the windows or shut my door and they never checked to make sure my screen would close and locked called to have them fixed the problem but they were rude and wanted to charge me for fixing something that they should have taken care off got tired off all the rude people and wasn't getting anywhere I have paid off the system and they are still taking money from me i would not recommend ADT to anyone so hard to get away from them and they do not help you i never got to use my system in the year i had it because the only camera that worked was inside of my house for the front door so I had to have someone in my house before I knew they broke in read more

Including the installation tech who was too notch , Derrck came to our home one day after we closed escrow. He was knowledgeable and efficient about the ADT security and products. We signed before he left our home. He even has a wonderful tag line that includes your dentist., and this "hook" was what ultimately got us to sign up. He has a great sense of humor and understands people. We got an affordable price for the security cameras (which we love by the way). Watch out for the others ADT salesmen, they tried to undercut Derreck offer. Luckily, we don't operate that way. In late November, I spoke to Chris P. and discussed the financial aspects of getting the ADT system. Chris referred me to Tom S. who was an hour late for his appointment. Tom wrote a contract stating that I was to be reimbursed for the county permit ($50) and my sister was to receive $50 for referring me to ADT. When I spoke to Tom about the reimbursements, he referred me to Chris. He stated that this was "Chris's deal." I spoke to Chris on 12/06 who stated that he would take care of it and that Tom would be calling me back within the hour with the specifics. I contacted Tom multiple times to follow up and he stated that he knew nothing ( I left a message for Chris who never called me back) Tom then refers me to his manager Sunny. I have left two messages for him with no call back. Honesty and excellent communication is key to any business. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of communication and the lack of follow through with this company. At least the security system is running smoothly for now. I surely hope that I do not encounter any problems because I'm sure I would have to contact the office on a daily basis until I get some kind of service. read more

Great security system, it's really easy to work with and it all starts with great customer service from Derreck. He's been amazing!! He was great at explaining how the product works and what to expect. He was quick at responding to my texts when I had some questions about the system. Me and my family recently bought a new house, and I was looking into a good security system. I was talking to my neighbor one day and she told me she had her security system installed by a local ADT dealer Direct protection security. I called Direct Protection, Tom Sams showed up the very same day and offered me a really good package with cameras and smart door locks. We got installed the next day. I am really happy with the work they did and how fast they set up the whole system. Tom even followed up with me a day later to check up that all of my systems got installed properly. Derreck was great! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Took his time talking to me. I didn't feel rushed or pressured. The install was quick, pain free and on time! Installer walked me through the use of the in home unit and the wireless app in an easy to understand way. Derreck followed up even though he was going to be out of town during the install. He texted to check on how everything was going, told me to text or call him if I had any questions, problems, needed anything even though he was out of town! The installation was flawless and quick. There was an issue where the ADT app wasn't arming or disarming. The owner sent the technician back out to fix that. Now that the app has changed, I haven't had that issue anymore. Initially, I had booked the appointment for a quote via their online appointment scheduler. When no one showed up at the time of the appointment, I called and spoke with the owner, and he sent a technician out within 30 mins. Other than improving their online scheduler, I cannot think of any other areas for improvement. It was flawlessly executed and installed. The owner texted and called me a few times to make sure everything was going smoothly. Despite the initial missed communication between their online appointment scheduler and secretary/clerk making note of said appt, I would hire them again. Very responsive business. This guy is a joke and not profession. I guess they go online realtor and hunt people that are new owner and sale u alarm that don't work. I bet he install wireless door sensor and wireless motion and if he try to install for more window it's probably $100 each. This is bull crap charging customer system that only cover doors. Bad system and not actual Adt tech from the company. Sub contractor are always trying to make money charging u sensor and other add on that should be given free instead. Last spring my home was broken into by teens who took everything. (An estimated eleven thousand dollars worth and even more with damages) To make everything worse...Three,.. of what I thought were "close neighbors" , witnessed these boys in my front yard, back yard and jumping the fence.... Not one of these neighbors called me or the police! (Good lookin out folks!) Yes,.. we were speechless to find out that there had been so many witnesses that did nothing! My family and I had felt violated. The kids didn't want to sleep alone in their own beds and I have to admit.. I was nervous too. Irreplaceable items had been taken as well as my respect for "The law". Multiple police officers, a csi team and a detective all entered my home. ( according to them,.. they only came in because there was witnesses, otherwise they would have never even walked in the door.) This law enforcement team Gained much evidence and in the end we received no help. We called the investigator four times, and never even received a courtesy call back. The day following the burglary,. my brother Dave had called me to tell me about his Alarm guy named Derreck. He said he helped him out with his alarm and that his family "just felt safe." That same day Derreck contacted me and we had our Alarm within a few days.If I would have got the alarm before,.. I would still have the necklace my aunt gave me before she passed away. ADT sucks! The service never works our Nest thermostat has not worked since they installed it. We were gone for a few weeks and our heater was off, but was one and our bill was $700 for one month- PGE. They sent service techs that did not know anything about how to resolve the problem. We manually turn our heat on and off. Service is fair but the systems are always going down, even the remote doors never work. Camera's go off-line......Go elsewhere! read more

We had a tremendous experience with the reps from Direct Protection Security. I HIGHLY recommend contacting Jeff Goldman if you're in need of a security system. My guy and I just bought our first home in Rancho Cordova. We had SO many different ADT guys come by our house, most of which were pushy and insisted paperwork be done the same day "because this deal expires today!". Blah blah blah, I used to sell door-to-door, I hate it when someone pitches me and won't back down when I tell them I am busy. The only ADT Rep I met that wasn't pushy (and was actually an all around good guy) was Jeff Goldman. Jeff was extremely knowledgeable, professional and very courteous. Jeff stopped by one day and gave me a run down of the ADT services he offered. I told him I needed to talk it over with my boyfriend and he respected my wishes and gave me space to mull it over. Moving into our first home was hectic and I was getting quite annoyed by the constant calls from other sales reps. I couldn't even enjoy an evening at home for the first two weeks without a sales person of one kind or another coming to my door. Jeff, however, was wonderful! He followed up with us a week after our initial meeting. Jeff is a security expert, any questions we had were met with fine tuned answers that were quite obviously cultivated from years of experience. If you're in the market for home security I highly recommend Jeff Goldman. Our installation rep, Dario, was also great! He showed up on time, was very efficient and knowledgeable. Dario got the job done fast and got me up to speed on how the system worked and was on his way.
