We used this company to install hurricane windows at my place in FL. Direct Remodels did a terrible job and their customer service is non-existent. We didn't notice any difference in the windows whatsover and now we can hear noise coming from outside. Upon completion there was no hurricane inspection on the windows and kept assuring us we did not need one. We insisted that we did and did not hear from them nor could we get in contact with them. Just calling was enough for the person answering the phone to try to commit me to a purchase, which I declined preferring to have a sales rep come out. That got me a call from a young guy that was all about heavily pushing the product. I know sales psychology and every persuasion pitch line he leveled at me for a good 15 minutes. I barely had a chance to get a word in edgewise. I finally had to shut him down in the midst of his over caffeinated fast talking pitch frenzy. He did come out that evening but wasn't overly enthused since he knew I wasn't going to be an immediate sale and the resulting product demo was cut short and not useful. But I won't deal with companies that use heavy handed pitch gimmicks and hard sells, I can get that from any used car dealer. After months of dealing with Direct Remodeling my windows are finally in. I would like to begin with a very big Thank You to William, the installer who finally was able to complete the project. This entire project has been an absolute nightmare. i contracted with Direct Remodeling on April22, 2025 to have 10 windows installed. On May 23 a crew of three arrived to install my windows. Only one spoke English. I had no problem with that fact. The problem was that the person who I had to communicate with had a terrible attitude. He was very angry and rude. Apparently the Direct Remodeling does not have their own installers .They sub out the installations and pay a flat fee for the job. The 1st installers were from 3 hours away. They expected to complete the installation by 3 o'clock that afternoon. After running into a few problems it was 4 o'clock and only 4 of the 10 windows were installed. I commented that they would likely have to come back the following day in order to complete the job. I was told, in a very nasty tone, that they would not come back because they lived three hours away. They continued to work until approximately 7 o'clock. When they began packing up I was shocked because two large bedroom windows in the front of my house had not been installed. When I asked about them I was told that they didn't have the those windows with them. With that they left! Hold on this nightmare is just beginning... I contacted Direct Remodeling and spoke to them regarding the problem. I was transferred to the manager by the name of Dan. I explained the situation with the two front bedroom windows as well as a few other problems. One of the three installed bedroom windows would not open, there was a hole in one of the livingroom screens, two tiles on the living room window sill were damaged, one of the bedroom windows did not match the others and installing two large windows in the family room they added a 5"x 80" header above the window with out my knowledge. This prevented me from reinstalling my blinds that matched the other blinds in the room, thus I had to replace all of the window treatments in my family room. The manager, Dan, was very understanding and assured me that all of the issues would be addressed immediately. He told me to save the receipts for the new family room blinds and Direct Remodeling would reimburse me. A few weeks went by and I called back to find out the status of my windows. I asked to speak to Dan and was told he no longer worked there. When I spoke to the new manager, John, the atmosphere was completely different. He was very short with me and seemed annoyed. Over the next few months I spoke with him a few more times. It became obvious that I was considered to be a thorn in his side. Without going into more details as to the specific reasons why, let me simply say my bedroom windows were finally installed and some of my other issues addressed on August 25th. In order to accomplish this I had to stay on top of this constantly. Time after time I was told the windows were in and would be installed and then there would be a problem and the installation would be delayed. By no means is Direct Remodeling the least expensive option for new windows. My suggestion would be to find another company! Check the Better Business reviews, not just the good ones. You will find that this company has pending law suits against them. While You might be one of the lucky customers why take a chance. There are so many other options available. read more

We ordered our windows in May. They were installed a few months later. A one day installation became a 3 day installation. The installation is terrible, the windows are terrible and the service after the sale is the worst!! My husband has made at least 22 phone calls to the company. A couple times someone has come out and taken numerous photos. Some have even come out saying they're going to fix things. When they get here, they say they will come back because they have to order parts and replacements. It seems that a lot of people are also leaving or being fired frequently. I signed a contract with them in Feb 2023 to install new windows in my house and it has been a struggle and till today (Dec 4, 2023) Three picture windows have not been installed nor I got a commitment from them for day of installation. I had 11 new windows installed by Direct Remodels. The windows are great, the service not so much. The installers told me the stickers could not be removed until the inspection was completed. The office was confused regarding whether I even needed a building permit. I had to tell them they applied for and I received one. I needed to call them several times following the installation to find out if an inspection was scheduled - it was not. the office girl said she would look into it and get back to me. When she did get back to me I was told all of the trim would need to be removed for the inspection so a crew would have to come out before the inspector. She mentioned that they may be able to just take pictures to give to the inspector and could replace the trim immediately. I had to tell her that the installers took pictures while they were doing the install. She easily then found pictures and again said she'd get back to me by the end of the day. It's now the weekend so I doubt I'll hear anything until Monday. Bottom line, while the windows themselves are very nice and the installation was completed in a day, they seemed to drop the ball after the installation was done. read more

This is what Direct Remodels has done to my home. It has been this way for over 6 months, with the exception of one door finally being installed (but not finished) yesterday. A contract was signed almost a year ago. As you can see, the ceiling by the bathroom light/fan still has a hole in it. The tile in the shower had to be replaced because their sub decided to drill holes in it instead of asking me a question when their was a small issue. The kitchen backsplash is lovely, but they didn't adjust the receptacle boxes so when you attach outlet plates, there is a large gap between the plate and the outlet. The French doors were supposed to be inward swinging. When they installed them, they were outward swinging. We had to let them finish tacking them in, because they had removed a window and we had a giant hole leading outside. We were told then (end of March 2021) that they would be rush ordering the new doors (they had also ordered another door incorrectly). When someone finally showed up 2 months later, they only had the single door that had been ordered incorrectly, not the French Doors. When questioned, the first response was "code requirement", which was the same BS they gave me for the other door. I asked them to show the exact code requiring out swing doors in Pinellas County. Then I contacted the county myself, I was told no such code exists. When I brought that to their attention, they changed their tune to "as a matter of policy". I told them had I been told that, I would have canceled the contract and gone with someone else. I explicitly ordered in-swing doors. When I showed proof, they claimed to have ordered new doors. Months went by and yesterday someone finally showed up. They hadn't ordered full replacement doors, they had "shells" and were attempting to transfer the glass from one set of doors to the other. But even then, the new doors were the wrong size! Now Daniel Vecchio is refusing to make good on this job and correct their mistake with the proper doors. Additionally, he has been fully paid by the finance company and will not inform them that their will be no final draw, leaving interest accruing on money that won't be disbursed. The workmanship was the worst, the customer service was the worst, the operations manager Dario was the worst. I hired and attorney and Direct Remodels 3 owners were sent a letter of demand to respond within 10 business days and not 1 of them responded at ALL... A couple days later they sent 2 guys back 2 days in a row and they probably did 4-5 hours work in the 2 days they were here and were supposed to come back and never did (Even left some of their stuff here. So I called an asked them to notate everything that remained open and when they were coming back and was told that they needed to speak to Sara the Customer Service manager and they would get back to me and its been over 2 weeks. I have asked for an owner to come to my house to look at his companies work to see if what they did in my home would be acceptable in his home and that did not happen. I was told he was double booked. The sad thing is, I am told if I wanted to sue this company (which I did want to) I would need to hire a contractor to fix all the issues and then sue and try and get the courts to have them pay for the fixes. We hired Direct Remodel to replace some windows and a front door that were damaged during Hurricane Ian. They left the job without replacing the door saying that they had to special order a door on our behalf. That was almost 4 Months ago. I called and spoke with Zach, who was supposed to order the door and schedule the installation several times before he stopped taking my calls.. My advice is to look for a remodeling company that is more honest to do any work for you. Stay clear of Direct Remodel and you shouldn't have any problems. read more

I saw a job done in our park before I contacted Direct Remodels. It looks beautiful. I guess I should have actually talked to the customer of that job and dug deeper for more reviews, which now seem to be plentiful in the negative. I ordered my windows and doors in October 2022. I was to get an email or text every step of the way until install to see the project status each part of the process. That never happened. I called to check the status in December 2022. I was given a direct contact and number. I was told my doors were in and we were waiting on the windows. When they were finally in, I then got a call to schedule installation, for January 4th, 2023. January 4th was a No Show, No Call. I called my contact, and after 6 hours got the answer...the job from the day before didn't quite finish. My install was finally started 1/5 and finished 1/6 of 2023. The workmanship looks good. They cleaned up well. There is a flaw with one of the doors, the window won't open. The installer could not fix it? A service ticket was put in that day. I also put it in my comments to confirm it. They were scheduled to come out 1/26 to fix it. No Show, No Call, AGAIN. I've called back in 6 times and have not gotten a reschedule date. My contact in AWOL. By the looks of things, their customer service sucks big time. I soooo hate to be ignored. I'm pretty handy but it is not something I can fix myself. UGH! Absolutely horrible experience. Received a quote on Jan/Feb 2021. Windows installed in May/June 2021. Four (4) windows were ordered incorrectly. They were supposed to be 50/50 single hung, but 60/40 single hung was ordered. THANKFULLY the inspector gave a partial pass on the inspection otherwise DR would have never made it right. Correct windows were to be ordered and ready in July 2021. Called on 7/29/2021 to get status. Learned our POC was fired and window order was never placed. In the mean time, DR forged our signature on job completion paperwork to get payment from finance company. We were now required to make payments on an incomplete job. Over the next many weeks, I called several times a week to get window status. Calls were sent to VM every time. Eventually, the correct windows were installed and passed inspection. After installation and inspection, necessary paperwork was completed on our end as we wanted to be done with this complete sham of a company. DR, however, kept calling for one form or another to be completed - all of which were all ready completed. Completely unorganzied, unprofessional, unethical, and incompetent. On 8/12/2021, I signed a contract with Direct Remodels to remodel my condo for $155,000. At signing, I provided a deposit of $18,334. I recently learned that Direct Remodel drew $37,612 from my PowerPay Remodeling Loan 8/12/2021 without my consent. The remodel loan is a progress stage based loan and no work has been started and no materials have been ordered. The permit for the job was not granted until 5/23/22. Direct Remodel did not take measures of the sliding doors, or complete architecture drawings for my approval until May 2022. Therefore, no materials could have possibly been ordered between 8/12/2021 and 5/23/2022. Direct Remodels has had a total of $55,946 of my money since 8/12/2021 which I am paying interest on and making payments of more than $1000 per month which was not supposed to happen until the completion of the contract. Direct Remodels has recently contacted me to request to be left out of the contract because they have never had the manpower or the skills required to complete my remodel. They are proposing doing the sliding doors only, which is their original business scope and be released from the rest of the remodel contract. After investigation, I am not able to have the same scope of work done for less than $275,000. Direct Remodels sent a different general contractor to my home to look at doing the job on Direct Remodels behalf. The General Contractor, Elite, indicated that they could not do the work per the original contract and requoted just the remodel, without the sliding doors, for $160,000. The 36 floor to ceiling sliding doors will cost $125,000 using Stormfiters as the vendor. The owner of Elite Contracting, RJ, and an employee of Director Remodels told me that Direct Remodels knew from the beginning that they could not complete this contract as written. This company has not completed the job I contracted for and I PAID the full amount. I signed with the company on February 9, 2023. I put the entire cost on my credit card so I have an unfinished back room and still have no fix for the bad job they did on the installation. When I contacted them after someone else from their company came out to trouble shoot and found the problem and they promised to order the parts and now they have ignored me, told me untruths for months and now they won't even answer a simple text that asked if the parts were in yet. That has been since August 31. I am an elderly, disabled woman living on Social Security (NOT wealthy) and I am sick to death of false promises and now being ignored. Fraud!!...This company is garbage. (In my opinion) DO NOT use this company for your window replacement project. I contracted Direct Remodels in October of 2021 for twenty-six windows, they promised they could do the job. In February I was informed the windows were in and we could now move forward and schedule an install date. March 2, the installation crew shows up at my house, incorrect address noted on the permit, I was told they would provide me with a corrected one the following day, they said they must have grabbed the wrong one, they then began removing the old windows and installing the new ones. Once the install was partially complete because they ran out of material on the third day of the install, I was told that they would come back to complete the remainder of the window installation when four of the missing windows come in, I was never made aware there were four missing windows! I was told ALL the windows were in. I then asked if they would come back an at the very least finish the outdoor covers for the windows on the main level, Danny Vecchio said no, not until I sign off on the windows they "are able to provide" because now they cannot find anyone who makes the remaining four windows because of the size. I ask myself "did they not know that their manufacturer couldn't make that size window?" "Did the manufacturer not tell them this at the time they placed the order?" according to Danny Vecchio...No. They were not made aware of this until after the partial incomplete install of a few windows, how does that happen and how convenient for him. Fast forward to March 28, 2022...I still have exposed windows on the first floor of my home and no sign of any completion of installation of the second level windows in sight. They are strongarming me into signing off on a contract that has not been honored. They are adamantly refusing to provide me with a change order or a refund of the windows they cannot provide, UNLESS and UNTIL I sign off on -4 windows! The four missing windows are for the front of my house, my house is going to look like CRAP. They threatened to get a Lawyer and then threatened to place a lien on my property if I do not sign. Gentlemen, stay home with your wife if and when you decide to use Direct Remodels...They had a sexual predator on their installation team, he offered to buy my house if I stayed in it with him and even challenged my husband to a fight! i would not recommend direct remodel. my windows were installed months ago, still no final inspection. dario is rude and unprofessional on several occcasions. no return call requested on 3 seperate occasions. when they billed me $350 charge for final, i texted i would pay it upon completion. dario wrote back no pay no inspection. really??? no good morning, no heading, no nothing. so unprofessional dario. so i paid over a month ago and crickets. i will be calling the better business bureau if i have not heard anything by the first of the month. maybe they can get a response and get my inspection completed for a job done months before!!! they also left materials laying at each window waiting for inspection to install. horrible service read more

I had two appointments to get an estimate for remodeling my master bath. For the first appointment, the Direct Remodels representative was 45 minutes late, so we had to reschedule for the following Monday at 9:00. At about 9:15 I texted Direct Remodels inquiring what had happened. The Direct Remodels person responded that she had it on the schedule for Tuesday. I'm not sure where Tuesday came from, as we had never discussed that day.
