    Mac and Cheese Corn

After looking for spots for dinner and wanting to try a new restaurant we decided on Dirty Byrd which is right now to Vampire Penguin. Now the inside is really cute I like the chicken and signage on the walls. The menu is easy to read so we ordered pretty smoothly. Their soda machines are down so it was only can sodas. Now the food looked promising but unfortunately the only thing we enjoyed was the actual chicken tenders, the other menu items we got were not very good especially the corn. I'm not sure why it's pasty but the texture is no good. The onion rings were okay came out greasy and the Mac and cheese was dry which was very unfortunate. Also the bacon cheese fries I didn't mind but they were greasy as well. The Korean gochujang sauce was pretty good sweet and lightly spiced it was nice. Overall I wasn't the biggest fan but would try their tenders again.

Dirty Byrd 127 East Bloomingdale Avenue, Brandon, Florida 33511 @eatdirtybyrd Had the opportunity to come visit this place in the Brandon/ Valrico area. Let me tell you: A nice little spot to hang out and enjoy some good chicken that's for sure. A place you can come down and enjoy some good grub after work or on the weekend with family and friends. If you live around this area, please make sure to check them out. Dirty Byrd is a contemporary, family friendly, fast casual eatery serving up some finger-lickin' southern style fried chicken with a touch of heat. They offer sandwiches, sliders, tenders, pickled fries, salads, milkshakes and more. Thier fried chicken are made to perfection, super crispy outside and super tender inside. Come dine with them and experience thier warm hospitality and delicious food! What I tried: 1) Pig & Byrd Sandwich - a definite hit chicken sandwich 2) Chocolate Milkshake- Great tasting Milkshake to accompany your entrée

New chicken place in Valrico. Big chicken sandwiches! Super crispy and some nice options to choose from. Inside has room for 4-6 groups to sit. A little tight but nice. Drink station in back along with fridge that has the desserts. We got southern heat, sweet heat, classic and chicken and waffles. All sandwiches were big and we got fries on side. Fries are shoestring and had good crunch and seasoning. I had sweet heat and coleslaw was good and hot honey was nice. I liked this sandwich. Wife had the chicken and waffles and it was good. The whipped butter and maple syrup were good and made a great sandwich. Kids had classic and southern heat and really enjoyed. Good portion sizes and we all left full.

$7.95 Classic. No sauce, no taste, bad.

The only worthwhile items here are the sauces. Yet, they don't even bother to put the sauces on the chicken sandwiches. Instead you get served a flavorless, completely plain chciken in-between a Wal-Mart bun. Love Bird Almost Famous hot chicken remains the best hot chicken sandwich shop in all of Florida. With Dave's Hot Chicken opening a 2nd location in Tampa this restaurant is going to struggle.

The chicken sandwich, the cheese fries, beans and corn were delicious! The staff bought us the food and were nice. Cool little area to sit

We came by after a wedding venue tour. We ordered chicken sandwiches and chicken strips and all drinks come in cans with meal. We asked about the bbq sauce and the opened a container stuck a spoon in it, closed it and let them try it, leaving the container for the next person. This was a little weird for me. The chicken comes in boxes that can open into a plate like area. We found the chicken very dry and a bit too cooked. The gentleman working the counter could have help by being a bit more friendly. When in the area we will look at other options

Honestly this was the best chicken I've ever had. The chicken sandwich is perfection!! Friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

Cool ambience. Food was great. Mainly burgers/sandwiches and sides. A bit pricey for a 4 pc chicken tenders with fries for my daughter. No kids menu. Service was great, very friendly and fast.

TL;DR- Food is served hot & fresh, but the flavor needs more to my personal taste. Going to visit later to see how much they've improved, but there is still great attention & care being put into it, so give it a visit. Walked in around 7pm, Saturday night to it being empty. Quickly made my order, two combo meals and a dessert, and didn't wait longer than 10-15 minutes. Dessert, not pictured here, was one of their pineapple upside-down cake cups- one of which you can grab right from their soda fridge alongside the drinks in the dining room. Decided to have it as a snack while waiting for my order. First thing I notice grabbing it is that it doesn't feel cold enough for something that should be refrigerated, especially one with fruit or dairy. Nonetheless, I try it- the whipped cream layered between cake and pineapple chunks just proves my point. Not much more to say about the dessert other than it is not my personal recommendation. Taking my order home and seeing the finished product- everything looked stellar! Opening those little boxes and seeing those generously-sizes tenders and substantial sandwich, I was getting excited! Had the sandwich first without the sauce, just their medium-heat spice blend, and while it tasted seasoned...the heat was lacking. I poured on the hot honey over the chicken to start and between bites- the mild sweetness was a good start but, once again, the heat was lacking! The quality of ingredients in every component that made up the box was great- great bun, great pickles, fresh and crispy shoestring fries- but the flavor needed more! This trend repeated for the tenders meal- it. Needed. MORE! I know I ordered medium, but I feel there needs to be a LOT more bite! Maybe the move's to order just hot next time. As much as I want to give the food a better score because it's served quick, fresh and presented beautifully, the taste doesn't quite get there for me. Regardless, I wish them all the love and support, because there is clearly care and time being put into the food itself.

(HOT) Southern Heat Handheld Sandwich with fries and a Highly recommended sparkling peach drink by the young lady working in the front.
    Marjorie P.

The food was delicious, as it was my first time here and especially being so picky... I asked a lot of questions and the young man working the register was extremely professional, patient and informative. The ambiance is small but very cozy and welcoming, I love the plants and the gum ball machine. I had the HOT Southern Handheld Sandwich with fries and chicken tenders with fries for the little one to go as well. Thank you Parker for excellent customer service my family and I will definitely be back.

It is owned by a wonderful husband and wife team, the husband is the chef and the wife is the owner and business person (who also makes the best Arabic coffee that I have ever tasted). Think of going over to a dear friends home for dinner ... that is the atmosphere. The food is beyond fresh, the variety is very authentic, the staff is super friendly and helpful. The chef came by to check on how we liked our experience. He was friendly and cheerful ... and very proud of his wife and his fantastic restaurant. We talked off and on for about 15 or 20 minutes. He let me know that their lamb is some of the best you will find. He was right .... It was perfectly cooked and very tender. He surprised us with a sample and I cannot wait to go back for a full lamb meal. When we did not think that we could eat anymore, the wife / owner offered us a sample of the cheesecake that her daughter makes fresh. It is amongst the best cheesecakes that I have tried .... Not too sweet and full of flavor. Also make sure to try the mint iced tea ... it is made with real mint and had a great natural mint taste. Our waitress was very nice and checked on us frequently. We were very appreciative of her attentiveness and great demeanor. My family and I travel frequently both domestic and international .... This restaurant is among the best that I have tried and at a very reasonable priced. Who would have ever thought that there would be such a hidden gem of a restaurant in Brandon. Well, this is officially my place in all of Tampa Bay to eat Mediterranean food. And I've tried many that are absolutely delicious. But Jerusalem beats them all out. The meats are truly, expertly cooked, with flavors that give you that food high that leaves you feeling amazing after the meal. But then the sides are equally impressive. Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I won't be returning. I stopped in around 3:00 p.m. and was happy to see it wasn't busy. I went to the deli counter, waited for someone to serve me, ordered my chicken salad, grabbed a soda and chips, and headed to the open register. As I walked up, the cashier called another customer over ahead of me. I waited while he spent several minutes deciding whether to pay cash or by card because of the 4% card fee. I continued standing there with my three items, to the point that I actually set them down and debated walking out. Then, instead of helping me, the cashier motioned for an entire family to come to the registereven though I had been standing there waiting before they arrived. After that, she waved over another customer, and I had to wait while a mother and her two teenagers decided which desserts they wanted. Again, I stood there patiently. When it was finally my turn, there was no greeting, no "thank you for waiting," nothing. The first thing I was asked was, "Do you have a pickup order?" I said no. She then motioned for my chicken salad container, saying she needed it. I placed it on the scale and set my other items on the counter. The cashier then asked, "Are you okay?" I simply shook my head because, honestly, I wasn't. Instead of recognizing why I was frustrated, she continued talking, making comments, and escalating the interaction rather than simply ringing me up. At that point, I asked, "Do you want to argue? Do you want me to go back and forth with you?" I then asked who the manager was. She pointed to a woman beside her, who identified herself as the owner. I asked if she could ring me up instead. Even then, the cashier continued making comments. It was only after she continued engaging me that my voice became louder in response. Rather than addressing the repeated comments from her employee or asking what had happened, the owner immediately said, "Do not raise your voice at my employee." That response was disappointing. There was no concern for the customer experience, no apology for repeatedly being skipped in line, and no attempt to resolve the situation. There was also no acknowledgment that the interaction had been escalated by the cashier's continued remarks before I ever raised my voice. The irony is that I have spent a significant amount of money catering from Frankie's Deli over the years because my customers love the food. Good food will bring people in once. Great customer service keeps them coming back. Sadly, this experience ended that relationship for me. There are plenty of places with great food, but respect and customer service matter just as much. One final thought: this is Florida not NY. Hospitality goes a long way. The aggressive, dismissive attitude I experienced isn't what I expect when supporting a local business. I won't be back.

They were out of iced tea, and after I'd already paid for a drink, I asked if I could substitute bottled iced tea. I was told no, had to get a credit for my original drink, and then pay an extra $0.75 for the bottled tea. The final surprise was opening my sandwich to find a whole wheat bottom with a white top, even though I ordered whole wheat. Well, they've earned their rating with good reason!…read more A friend and I went on a bit of an unplanned adventure yesterday as the first place we were going to go to was closed for an event. After driving 30 minutes to that place in Plant City and realizing this, we decided, "why not drive some more?". Josephine's was on my radar due to their great reviews across multiple platforms, so we drove another 20-30 minutes to check it out. We arrived at the unsuspecting strip plaza, walked in to what was just one well lit, cozy strip in the plaza and were immediately greeted by Robby, the owner, who asked us if it was our first time in. We let him know that it was, and he proceeded to educate us on everything they have to offer, from their bar, their sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pastas, grocery and so on... the meatball sandwich was calling my name, along with their pizzas and their pastas - so many choices! I did land on the meatball sandwich and got a bag of chips and a glass of wine while my friend got the Italian salad and a coke. For note, this ran us about $45. It was well worth it. The meatball sandwich was 10" and was stuffed with fully ground beef meatballs, seasoned well and very cheesy - so good. I tasted the salad and it was great as well, with plenty of parmesan cheese to cover up the taste of leaves that I was consuming (I'm not a vegetables guy still). While we were dining at the bar, Robby took a bit more time to tell us how the store came to be, being named after his grandmother who, though she wasn't around to see what he had started, would no doubt be very proud as his/his employee service was excellent and the food was no different. At the end of our experience, Robby took our payment and we explored the store a bit. Robby was kind enough to offer me two of their mini cannolis and my friend a scoop of their salted caramel gelato on the house as a way of saying thank you for coming in; again, EXCELLENT service. Since leaving there yesterday, I have recommended the place to 7 people and will continue recommending it to more people due to their great value, service and delicious food. Huge thanks to Robby and the team at Josephine's for knowing how to do things the right way. I'll definitely be back.

After returning from our honeymoon in Italy, my husband and I were on a mission to find pizza,…read moreItalian subs, and authentic Italian foods that reminded us of our trip. We stumbled upon Josephine's Italian Market, less than 15 minutes from our home, and it has become one of our favorite special-occasion spots. The market itself is such a fun experience. They have a thoughtfully curated selection of imported Italian products, a refrigerated and freezer section with prepared foods to take home, shelves of authentic pantry staples, a small espresso and Italian beverage bar, and a fantastic deli with fresh meats like prosciutto, capicola, and everything you'd hope to find in a true Italian market. One thing that really stood out was how welcoming everyone was. I brought my toddler with me, and instead of feeling like I was trying to juggle shopping while keeping him entertained, the staff genuinely embraced him. They were so kind and engaging that it made the entire visit relaxed and enjoyable. Now for the food... absolutely incredible. Their Hot Honey Pizza is easily one of the best pizzas I've had outside of Italy, and their authentic Italian sub is unquestionably in my top five ever. The chicken cutlets, salads, and other prepared foods have all been consistently outstanding. I also love browsing their selection of authentic Italian wines to take home. Is it more expensive than grabbing pizza or subs from a chain? Absolutely. But the quality, authenticity, and overall experience make it worth it. We don't think of Josephine's as an everyday stop--we think of it as our go-to place for special occasions, family gatherings, or anytime we want to treat ourselves to food that genuinely reminds us of Italy. If you're looking for authentic Italian food, exceptional sandwiches, outstanding pizza, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Josephine's Italian Market is absolutely worth the visit. We're so grateful to have a place like this so close to home!
