This is hands down my favorite pizza place in the area . The people in here are always SO nice and the food is always fresh and delicious. It's clean in there and it reminds me of the pizza parlors my parents used to take us to as kids . The prices are reasonable. There is a good selection of food on the menu and I feel like there's something there for everyone. I drive a bit to get there and I call ahead if I'm getting a pizza to go . The place was busy, it was a Friday night. I have been here multiple times and the food is always good but the service sucks. All the cashiers look like they hate their job. Tonight we go in (2of us) and are told the pizza has an extra long wait. So I order pasta and my daughter gets pizza. I originally wanted pizza but didn't want to wait 45 minutes. I'm fine with waiting however the pizza came out after 40 minutes and I still had no pasta! I went to go check and ask if they can cancel or trade it for a pizza since I waited that long anyway and of course they were rude. Told me no im stuck with it-do I want a To go box. I can handle mid grade food but not below average service. So i wont eat there again and neither will my family. Tip to the manager: get better staff or train them to give better service. My wife's family has been coming to Dirty Dave's for years. It is a very sentimental place for them, so anytime we are visiting, it is always on the menu. Food Dirty Dave's sells many different types of pizzas as well as pastas, salads, and beers. The beer selection offers something for everyone. My family enjoys the Gay 90's, which I ordered a Hawaiian type. The pizza wasn't too bad and the price is reasonable. 3.5/5 Service When you get into the restaurant, you approach the counter to order your food and drinks. Staff were friendly while ordering and the food took an acceptable amount of time to come out. They came by and cleaned up regularly. 4/5 Ambiance Dirty Dave's has all sorts of swag and memorabilia on their walls. You can see how long they have been in operation by how unique some are. They also have multiple pinball machines and a quarter machines for the kids. 4/5 Dirty Dave's is a long standing Olympia establishment. The experience is worth trying at least once. read more

I got it late one night to go but I could tell that the service here is nothing short of Legendary which is always worth mentioning but what makes a Pizza Great !?! Sis was jonesing for pizza and we'd heard good things about this place, that it was the best in Olympia. A friend heard we were going so he recommended getting The Gay 90s, which is a pepperoni pizza with sausage, onions, and a generous amount of cashews sprinkled throughout. What a weird idea, but it worked. The staff is super nice and accommodating. They serve you your pizzaat your table, but it's not necesarily table service. Once they drop the food off, they don't check in with you which is perfectly fine since I find it annoying when waiters drop by every 10 minutes to ask you how you're enjoying your meal. However, our waitress did check the dining room often to clear plates and make sure things were clean. I found that to be the perfect amount of service. This is a fun place to meet with friends. It's not the best pizza I've ever had, but it was fine. I lked the crispy thin crust so it was a good visit. read more

I absolutely love this place. Reminds me of my favorite place back in college. Staff is great, prices are reasonable, food is delicious and fresh, and they have a sense of humor. I tried it once, then went back two more times in as many days. And discovered they have a drive thru pick up window as well. I tried their pizza, their pasta and their sandwiches. Everything was great. I love the thin crispy crust on the pizza, and they have a signature sandwich called the Jake. It cones with their famous french caesar dressing and a mustard mayo mix with all the toppings. I never put mustard on my sandwiches, but this works really well. And they do it right with thinly shredded lettuce. I would not change a thing, the sandwich is what brought me back for more. And I was skeptical (as a New Yorker) about the pizza, but they do a damn fine job, love the crust. This will be a regular spot when I am in town. read more

I don't know how I've never reviewed this. This has to be the first restaurant I have memories of as a kid, that I still eat at today. Even as a kid I loved food and trying new things. So did Jesse. After one of our baseball practices in 2nd grade most of the team went to one of Dave's party rooms. Wholly cow. I already knew I loved shrimp. But Jesse ordered a pizza with shrimp on it. My mind was blown. I loved it. Let's fast forward to today. I've waited tables in fine dining, been an assistant manager at a cafe and catering company, been a food and beverage manager at a country club, been a banquet lead at another......... THESE ARE THE BEST CLAMS I'VE EVER HAD. I was skeptical the first time I ordered them. It's a dive diner with good pizza. I've eaten clams all over town. Nobody's are this good. Awesome pizza. Love the crust, love the toppings. My wife loves the Gay 90s pizza with pineapple added. I love finishing what she doesn't eat after eating (or sharing) my full pitcher of the best clams I've ever had. Rest in piece Dave. We ordered 3 Jake sandwiches with the dressing on the side. After checking on our order at the 30min mark, they finally showed up after a solid hour! On top of that there was no apologies for the ridiculously long wait time. And to make matters wores, there was no dressing on the side, and there was no mayo on the sandwiches... We've been loyal customers for the last 30+ years, until tonight. I've noticed the last few times dining there, that it clearly isn't the same Dirty Dave's that we've always known. It's been a decade since I've been here, actually about 12 years and back in the day, this place was always packed at lunch there was a good chance you couldn't get a table. Today, the place was near empty. That could be because they no longer have lunch specials. When you enter there is a sign, No Lunch Specials, No Salad Bar. Salad bars pretty much don't exist, but you could offer a deal on pizza, matter of fact, $10 for the small pie would attract a crowd. The pizza was ok, but not as good as I remember. Nice people but when you run the math on the pizza, it was incredibly expensive pizza for what you get.... Their Giant Pizza was what other places would call a medium and if you calculate the price per tiny little slice it was almost $2 a slice (when buying a pizza). Add to that that the quality of the pizza was basically bar style pizza as opposed to pizzeria style pizza and it is painful that we paid so much for such mediocrity. Our modest consumption family for went out and got some more food after leaving the pizza place. Daughter moved to Washington State and she already found a go-to pizza place. The best thin crust, right up there with Shakey's Pizza. All I ask in a pizza place is don't be chintzy on the toppings. Dirty Dave's doesn't have that problem. Plenty of toppings. Their pizza is very good. Also, I ordered a meatball sandwich, which was above average good. Meatballs tasted fresh and were tender. Plenty of sauce too. Service was great, no complaints. When you walk into this place it has a feel as an old time pizza place. I love the old time feeling it has. I will definitely be back. The only thing they got right was the name. They definitely do you dirty here! I don't understand how this place has so many great reviews. Has no one had a really good pizza before? This was the most pathetic combination pizza I've ever seen in my life. The flavor was OK. The toppings were all but nonexistent. The best thing going for the place was the gal who took our order (which is the reason for the second star). She was definitely busting her bottom working that busy Saturday night, but still was on top of things. I won't even complain about having to wait an hour for the pizza. Great service and ambience but absolutely not great thin pizza. I ordered a 10 inch. I've tasted frozen pizza that was better than this and at nearly $19.00 was unacceptable. I've had pizza in New York and Italy and their pizza doesn't taste like this either. This is not acceptable pizza. Sorry. I will try something else next time. I have been going to Dirty Dave's since 1st location on Pacific Ave. My husband wanted his favorite pizza for dinner and I was in Lacey so went in ordered his and I thought I would try their taco salad. Sat at the bar, had an iced tea and waited for to go order. Got our dinner and headed home to Tumwater. I opened the salad and there was NO taco beef! I promptly called them to let them know the situation, she put me on hold to check with the cook to see if I was telling the truth?? He said yes he forgot it. She said she couldn't refund my money because I paid CASH! (plus a healthy tip) All she could say is that it was unfortunate! I work serving the public myself and recommend places for them. Word of mouth can be the best or the worst advertisement, Dirty Dave's will be the worst...NOW THAT'S UNFORTUNATE!!! read more
