"Rush In" is an excellent name for this little restaurant. Why? The food is so good that you literally want to "Rush In" and get some good vittles!!!! First of all the place is vertical and not horizontal. Meaning, most of the seating is upstairs. There are some seating downstairs but very limited. So, if you are ADA you might have a problem. The staff here were nice and friendly. They were very helpful in helping us select items from the menu. Food was prompt and hot. The dumplings were delicious! However, my wife liked mine better and I liked hers better. So we kinda traded. I am looking forward on coming back soon! read more

This place is super cute. I love the old building in the middle of downtown vibe. The seating area upstairs has a "I've been around a long time because people like the food here" theme. Between two people, we ordered plenty. First and foremost, both my wife and I enjoyed the Alaskan Dumplings. I've had a version of this in Portland too. In fact, my experiences with the Portland Russian Dumpling were so memorable, I really wanted to try this place in Olympia. The dumplings were flavorful and I thought the overall balance between the butter, the onions, the dumplings, and the sour cream was memorable. I'd come back for this dish - maybe in Kirkland? We took the advice of the employee and ordered the Loaded Dumplings. Outside of wanting the Alaskan, we didn't research much into what else we wanted to eat. Hmmm. Again, the dumplings were tasty but eating a wanna-be deconstructed baked potato sans the potato but with dumplings wasn't on our bingo card. The food tasted good...but eating that dish was a bit of a buzz kill, as we were really hoping for a more ethnic experience. Next time we'll order the Buffalo Dumplings instead (see previous Kirkland reference). The Piroshki was on the sad side. I think we may have saved this Piroshki from death/to be thrown out row. This piroshki was lifeless with a barely keeping it together outer pastry shell. The filling was good to the taste but the overall eating experience could have been better. I think our piroshki was probably reheated once or twice too many times. The outer shell definitely wasn't crispy. And finally, the Honey Cake: this was a definitely need to try item for us. The cake was agreeable but didn't move the needle for my wife nor I. I may have had too high of expectations for this item. I was hoping for something unique in either texture or flavor. read more

Food was delicious I ordered the Beef & Pork classic Dumplings I'd describe their dumplings as if a Chinese Style Dumpling met an Eastern European mini Perogi. Loved the spicing, juicyness and overall flavor Both side sauces complimented the dumplings beautifully I also ordered a chicken Piroshki because I noticed they just came out of the oven. First, the good. The place is cute. The staff is helpful and friendly, especially when explaining the menu for first timers. Everything smells delicious. There is a good selection of dumplings and toppings, as well as other food & treats, including borscht and dill pickles. Drinks are limited to those in the stand up fridge, or water from a self serve cooler. The dumplings are good, but decidedly underwhelming for $1.04 a dumpling (18 pieces = $18.80). We had the Alaskan and the Classic, and while enjoyable, I didn't think they were anything to write home about. Meh. Our total bill for two 18 piece plates, a square of honey cake and 1 can of soda was over $45, not including tip. While the old Security & White Building location has a charming vibe, the upstairs seating is definitely NOT easily accessible for those with mobility challenges. So delish!! The food was authentic and had amazing flavour. I got the Alaskan style dumplings with beef and pork, and my friend got the traditional with potato and cheese. We came to Rush In dumplings at 1:00 on Saturday for some dumplings to go. We picked the classic with beef filling and enjoyed them thoroughly. While we waited for our dumplings to be ready, we wandered upstairs to see that they had comfortable seating, as well as punch cards for future orders of dumplings. There were plenty of pictures of the food, and the menu had a lot of variety. I really liked the atmosphere - it is a very cute and cozy place. There was only one person working in a restaurant, but it was running so smoothly! Kitchen is on the 1st floor and dining area is on the 2nd floor. My friends were not the biggest fans of the Russian cuisine in general, but even they told me that the food was very flavorful. I went with my friend the price and service is decent nothing to complain about I wasn't too sure about the food itself, it may have been the plate I got same with my friend but we both agreed it wasn't too great, maybe it's us being very into food but we both agreed that the flavors are either a bit bland or way too much. I ordered loaded dumplings but got buffalo instead. I didn't say anything I just ate what I got and the buffalo sauce was extremely vinegary to where I couldn't finish it. About the store itself it's pretty cool the upstairs area is nice to eat in, it was a bit hot but that's probably cause it's right above the kitchen. The staff (specifically Alice) is always so welcoming and friendly, the restaurant is warm and cozy, and the food is beyond words. The staff has the best recommendations if you arn't sure what to order. There's almost always smooth music playing and free water in the loft. My favorite dish is the chicken soup with potato and mushroom dumplings personally (that's what my photo is of). oh and the honey cakes are divine! Soft and sweet while being fluffy with the right amount of tart. They sell bags of frozen dumplings to take home for $12 a pound if you want to dress them at home. i can't recommend this place enough! read more
