We were leaving for a week-long international trip three days later, and Melanie was able to come by for a home visit the following afternoon to meet our cats and get all the details for their care. She also set us up with an app she uses for all her clients that allowed us to add any details we wanted for each of our pets, and which she uses with her staff to have a record for every visit. When Melanie came by the house, I could immediately tell she was an expert with animals after our two German shepherds ran up to her barking and she quickly put them at ease and had their tails wagging. She asked all the right questions about our four cats, whom she would be caring for for the week, and throughly answered all the additional questions that popped up. In addition to feeding our cats and giving them water for the week, Melanie and another member of her staff also cleaned the litter boxes, brought in the mail, and even moved our trash and recycling cans up the driveway so they wouldn't fall in the road. They also sent us photos and updates about our cats, one of whom needs a daily pill due to Addison's disease and can become fatally ill due to stress alone. We didn't worry about our cats once during our trip due to Melanie's fantastic updates and thorough preparation. And when we returned, all of our cats were more relaxed and happy than we've ever seen them after a trip. TL;DR: We'll be recommending Happy Tails to all of our local friends and neighbors and using Melanie's service anytime we need pet care.
