I began with Sara as a groomer for my Keeshond, which is a double coated dog, pics below, a before and after shot...we discussed expectations and Sara seemed to know what she was doing. Sara was not available for my last 2 visits. The first, had another groomer who performed a tidy up... Which went fine... This most recent visit I asked for a full groom... Now I did not have a new discussion with the new groomer about expectations... There was apparently a card that was completed I assume by Sara.... In my mind, a full groom of a double coated dog is something more than a tidy up... I expected to have a very fluffy dog returned as a fluffy dog, but now clean with less shag... I received a phone call during his service to confirm that I wanted a "full groom". I was confused because I had assumed the groomer would know what I meant... This is a communication mistake... The words shaved were never used... No length was discussed... And again I have a double coated Keeshond... The type of dog that should never be shaved if a groomer knows what they're doing... Again, another mistake I made and I hope I save someone else from this mistake... I was called to pick up my dog and what is pictured below...is what happened... I was absolutely horrified and in shock... Another pet peeve... They request you pay and tip before you see your dog... Fortunately, I refuse to tip until I've actually seen my dog... But I did actually pay for the service... Again, my dogs coat is completely gone now... My 11-year-old Keeshond was shaved for the first time in his life in October and this was neither my request nor my want... And again an experienced groomer would have known better or Would have used the word shaved... Or we would have discussed length if there was any question as to what I actually wanted... The response I got was it was on the card... I don't know what card they are referring to... But Sara and I had discussed at length That you do not shave this type of dog... regardless a quick Google search is all it takes to discover that you never shave a double coated dog... So the reason for my one star review is that you can see how my dog used to look and you can see how he looks now by the photos... communication issues... this would never have happened if the staff had used their words... Clearly grooming means very different things to different people... To them it meant shave... To me it meant trimmed... so I will not be returning and I would strongly encourage anyone who wants to try this place out to make sure they use their words and make sure they confirm exactly what they want... Even if you've had a conversation with a groomer in the past... Confirm confirm confirm!

On two separate occasions, my dog came home with injuries--once with her paws cut too short to the point that she required veterinary attention, and another time with an injury near her eye. Despite giving the business the benefit of the doubt after these incidents, I continued to try their services. After booking a future appointment, I was then called and informed that they would be cancelling and no longer providing services for my dog moving forward. While I understand any business can choose to discontinue service, the decision felt abrupt given the history of prior incidents and lack of resolution or discussion. Overall, I am disappointed with both the safety experience and the way the situation was handled. I would not feel comfortable recommending this groomer to others.

It's close to home, so I thought it would be convenient. However, I didn't feel very welcome when I entered. I may have heard a greeting as I was opening the door, but once inside, I could hear the staff and another person speaking amongst themselves. As I walked through and looked at their offerings, I didn't receive any engagement from the staff member. There was no inquiry about what brought me in that day or anything of the sort. I'm sure there would've been interaction at checkout, but I decided not to make a purchase and left. I don't think I'll visit this location again.

Anyway, I was looking for a nice grooming place for my doggie and decided to try The Pawty after reading a lot of awesome reviews on Yelp... and OMG, I am so glad I found this place because I gotta say, this place is the best grooming place I've ever been to. First of all, I really like the name of this place, how cute... and brilliant. The Pawty haha! Secondly, I love the fact that this place doesn't cage dogs. I mean "grooming" is pretty stressful to dogs already, so caging them for hours and making them wait on us for a while? nope, not a big fan. I made an appointment with Keeley thru the phone and gosh, let me tell you this, she is the best/nicest groomer ever. When we got there, Teddy was too nervous and as soon as she picked him up, he pooped! I felt so bad but Keeley just laughed and tried so hard to make my dog feel comfortable. My dog has some kind of anxiety issue and when I met Keeley, I already knew that Teddys in good hands! I told Keeley what kind of haircut I wanted, things about Teddy, etc. I could tell Keeley truly cares about dogs and she will treat your dogs just like hers! She did such an amazing job with my little man Teddy and I was so impressed; perfect nails, poofy tails, his body hair looked so even, and oh my god, Teddy smelled so good for days!!! I think that for this kind of amazing job and the fact that my dog doesn't need to wait on me in the cage for hours, this price is very reasonable. Teddy and I just came back from our second visit today and Teddy seemed like he had such a great time with Keeley! Keeley always tells me how Teddy did, what I need to know about his coat and skin, and other little stuff I can miss easily. I highly recommend The Pawty if you are looking for a dog groomer for your dog, you are gonna love this place!!!

You could tell more irl that it was cut a bit and had blood smeared. My dog seemed super happy to be there and walked right in through the dog gate to the back. When I was talking to the woman at the register she said that she (my dog) acted like she knew the drill and walked right into her kennel/cage which is incredible because she hates water or baths and usually tries to make a run for it at least she did when we would take her to Petco. Super friendly and helpful staff and extremely reasonable prices ($110 for an XL? dog: mini groom/teeth brushed and clipped nails included)l. My dog is usually between 105-110 lbs). They did SUCH a good job clipping her nails. Even the vets we've seen in the past can't do a good job and sometimes miss nails altogether. They did a wonderful job. Would come back and skip the belly shave. Parking is a loading zone at the front of the shop. It's "downtown" Raleigh but like on the outskirts so it's not too busy and it isn't difficult to get a parking spot if you go in the morning. Drop off is between 8-10am. I dropped her off at 9 and they finished by around 3 (like 2:45 to be exact haha).
