We went there pretty early for dinner and from the moment we walked in we were greeted warmly, seated immediately, and Debbie, Our server was amazing. I had the blackened salmon with two vegetable sides and my husband had the chicken parm over penne The food was delicious. I never see my husband, even when he says the food is good, clean his plate. My salmon was delicious. My asparagus was cooked just right and I had coleslaw as other side. I can't wait to go back to this restaurant. This Rating is against management for not following The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Massachusetts General Laws which require handicapped (HP) parking. You have three HP spaces assigned, but there are no mounted signs as required for each space. So, that leaves the pavement markers as the only way to see the HP spaces, but they're worn out and barely visible on a good day. Do you think they're better visible now covered with sand and salt. This is a problem. Unknowing persons are parking in the spaces ........... why wouldn't they, they're right next to the door. But they could be ticketed because you're not following the law. You're also not making those persons who need the spaces happy with you or that unknowing dope who's illegally parked in a handicapped space. I had been to this restaurant a few years ago and the food was excellent so on Thursday I took my mother and my sister for lunch and I ordered the fish and chips which was mail cost $32 and my mother ordered the fish and chips sister ordered the chicken, broccoli and ziti. My mother also ordered a seven alcoholic drink first when my mother's drink came it was not a seven press but the waitress kept saying and finally after two times they got it right however, when our came, my sister's pasta was really overcooked and my fish and chips which was supposed to be the catch of the day were not what I got before there they were triangular shaped fish nuggets and so my they were all dried out I believe frozen I spent $120 for food that was disgusting. I have tasted fish at McDonald's Wendy's. I will nova go back there ever again. This is not my first experience not sure if they changed the chef or ownership but this restaurant went from a 5+ to almost a zero but I was kind enough to give it a one star rating very expensive for a terrible meal. read more

Went on President's day and it was packed. Got 2 seats at the bar. Sean was our bartender/server and was just wonderful. Attentive as we needed him to be but not overly! The chowder was great and not all POTATOES like a lot of others. My turkey burger was out of this world as was his cheeseburger. I swear we have never had a bad meal here.. whether it be lunch or dinner it is always fantastic.. kudos to all who work here for doing a fabulous job!! A solid dining experience two nights in a row. The management seems first rate. Food was very good, with huge portions. But I am not sure why this place has valet service. You have to drive around it, and saves roughly 25 extra feet of walking. For that you get to pay valet gratuity with the added bonus of having a sweaty, possibly drug-addicted, stranger drive your car. It's analogous to having a coat check in a south Florida restaurant. And why has this establishment not claimed this business on Yelp? After being disappointed at The Sun Tavern this weekend, I brought my sister to Disch's on Route 53 and I should have just gone there in the first place. From the moment you arrive, you are treated like family. The valet car service makes it easy and stress-free, and the warm greeting as you step through the door sets the tone for the whole experience. The staff at Disch's are exceptionally friendly and attentive, always making you feel welcome and appreciated. Looking for Gluten Free food? This is NOT your place! I ended up with a salad and an added protein as I watched my fellow diners dig into their meals. No pictures because I was too jealous. Our server was apologetic but these days, to have almost no gf options was surprising. (I didn't pick the restaurant, it was a retirement celebration.) I ordered the London Broil that was listed as tenderloin. I ordered it medium and it was medium rare. It was also tough. I had the French onion soup which was delicious. London broil is supposed to be sliced thin which this wasn't. The atmosphere was fine for a bar/restaurant. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. read more

Disappointing Experience from Start to Finish I've enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but unfortunately, my recent experience on January 4th was a huge letdown, from start to finish. First, the hostess--who was tall with dark hair--was openly unprofessional. When a member of our party politely asked how much longer we'd need to wait (after 45 minutes), she responded with unkind remarks to her fellow hostesses. This set a poor tone right from the start. Once we were finally seated, we were told that they were behind on dishwashing, so there weren't enough water glasses. We ended up starting with only 3 out of 7 glasses, and had to wait for the rest to be cleaned. While our waitress was polite and tried to be attentive, it was clear she was overwhelmed and struggling to keep up with the pace of service. To make matters worse, about 10 minutes after we placed our order, we were informed that one of the specials was no longer available. The dish was substituted with a London Broil, but instead of being sliced as described, it came out as a large, tough piece of meat. As for the food quality, it was a major disappointment. We ordered three salads with chicken, and all came out cold. Two of the salads were supposed to be Caesar, but they were served with iceberg lettuce instead of the promised romaine. When we questioned this, we were assured it was romaine, but it was clearly not. Additionally, the portion sizes were far too small for the price. One member of our party ordered the vegetable medley, which was supposed to include squash, carrots, and string beans. What they received was two carrots and two string beans, which was more of a side dish than a medley. Finally, the prices were completely out of line with the quality of food and service we received. For what we paid, we expected much better--especially from a place that had previously been a reliable option. I'm not someone who typically leaves online reviews, but I reached out to the restaurant directly the following day to express my concerns. It's now been several days, and I've received no response. This lack of follow-up further illustrates the poor customer service and disregard for guest experience. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes these issues seriously, but for now, I won't be returning. I'd advise others to be cautious when considering this place, especially given the steep prices for subpar food and service. read more

Tied for second-best bread basket in the game. Warm, toothsome rolls with whipped butter are pull-apart delights that are not to be missed. Frickles are chips (superior to spears in the fry game) with a crisp coat and a zingy chipotle aioli. Killer burger with thick cut bacon, onion straws, pepper Jack and BBQ sauce on a potato roll. Attentive staff who were awesome with our two tykes - little things like dropping down when asking what our daughter wanted for dinner. Kids like it when you look at them at their level. Kicking ourselves for sleeping on this local gem for so long, having judged the book by its dated cover. Make sure you get extra bread My father and boyfriend agree, it's the best around. Have been to this restaurant many times over the years, just tried their pizza for the first time, as a picky eater, and was blown away, highly recommend. Their Buffalo tenders (again, picky) are delicious, sweet and spicy, the sauce is great. They always have a few good specials. The desserts are also amazing. Have never had a bad experience, or an unfriendly waiter/waitress or hostess, staff is always friendly, with a smile. It's always clean, including the bathrooms. Love the valet service. It can get very busy, and no call ahead or reservations, so I try to call and get an idea of how busy they are before we head out! read more

I've been here a couple of times so far. First time was great but the last time was fantastic. The parking is pretty tight but they do have valet parking so you can just pull up and hand your keys to the guy outside. Restaurant is fairly big with a nice big sized bar. A plethora of tvs all around. They have a beautiful fireplace here with a tv above it that streams a live feed of the ocean. Excellent ambiance. Waitress we had was great. We were celebrating a birthday and she came out with the cakes we brought and helped us sing. Now the food. I had no idea what I was in store for when I ordered the Cheese ravioli alla bolognese. One of the most scrumptious pasta dishes I've ever had. Sauce was magnificent, ravioli tasted fresh and cheesy. Incredibly tender sausage with carrots and parmigiana cheese. Wow!! With most pasta dishes you get your choice of linguini, angel hair or penne. My cousin liked the steak tips he ordered. They looked delicious. Another person in our party got pizza. He said it was good but crust could of been cooked a bit longer so you may have to mention this when ordering. I've had the Cesar salad here before and enjoyed it. The rolls? Whoa! Huuuuuge!!! And came out very warm. Loved them. I saved a piece of one to eat with my pasta. I really love this place and will definitely be going back here many more times. read more

Parking there is simply awful. I was told to move my parked car after I've already parked my car in the non-valet parking area. Apparently the whole lot is valet parking only? When did this happen? I am sorry, but I am not a valet your car kind of guy. And this is Pembroke, not the Ritz Carlton... I was told to move my car across the street, and proceeded to do so. But have you crossed rt 53 by foot at night before?? That is a huge concern, and there needs to be better guidance on that. Do you want an elderly couple foot crossing rt. 53 at night? Yesterday we ordered takeout, tried something different ( chicken, broc, ziti) was definitely not as good, and they didn't put food that we purchased in the bag -so that was a huge disappointment, especially during a time when there's so much takeout going on. It looks like shrinkflation has hit the tavern. We go pretty often and last night, I noticed a lot of changes. Now this is a place that's always busy. They always have a line out the door so why are they charging more for less food now? The bread for the table used to be free. Now it's $2. Ok not a huge deal. The crab cake, which I get every time I'm there was notably smaller but was still $16 for one. Then the rice cakes. You used to get three large cakes. Now it's just two, for the same price if not more. I got the jambalaya which I usually get there. Yep, you guessed it, smaller portion again for the same price. Now I get times are tough, but $15 for 2 rice balls is a little insane. I'm not sure I'll be back while they are price gouging. The food is just ok. But for those prices, I'll just stay home. It shouldn't cost a small mortgage payment for a basic dinner. I'm sorry. read more

This restaurant is the spot! Been coming here for years and has never disappointed. Great for a date night or just a casual night out. They serve you with fresh warm rolls which are A+++. They got a good variety of appetizers entrees. There is also plenty of TVs around the bar to watch whatever sports game is on! Drinks are all ways delicious.
