Bar area is large and spacious, they have games for the kiddos, Keno, lottery machine and large tv for the big kiddos. Food is good and lots of options, was just there for a birthday celebration, and the staff did a great job waiting on guests and providing food in a timely manner. PARKING SUCKS!!! The spaces are way to small and expect if you do use the spaces remotely close to the front, your vehicle will be damaged. Second time in the last year came home to find my truck scraped from another car. I'd give this place more stars if the had better parking. Lesson learned....next time I'll take my chances parking on the street. Lol. read more

So gross. My two kids had the worst pizza imaginable where the crust looked and tasted like cardboard and the sauce was like ketchup. Barely looked cooked to boot. My husbands pastrami sandwich was ok according to him and my Buffalo quesadilla was pretty awful. The chicken wasn't spicy at all, Tostitos salsa and mostly flavorless chicken and cheese. Pretty bogus. None of us finished our meals and couldn't wait to get the heck out of the there. I would honestly have enjoyed McDonald's a whole lot more than here. Avoid at all costs and head to Plymouth instead or even mama Mia's up the road. read more

Recently our neighborhood restaurant group had our monthly dining experience at TCH in Kingston. The Staff did a remarkable job and everyone's food was tasty and timely served. This is not an easy task for any restaurant we visit as our group can have upwards to 40-50 people. Cody was our particular Server and he was very patient AND attentive. Opening drink orders were taken and delivered promptly, followed by our Entree selections. Great job TCH, Cody and the other Staff Members. We will be back!! read more

We have been visiting this establishment for years and this review is way overdue. Everything in this restaurant is great; from the food to the atmosphere to the service!! I do have to take a minute to mention the service because they go above and beyond on every single one of our visits. Although it is usually very crowded at the bar I have never had to wait for a cocktail!! A special thanks to Nancy the bartender who always takes exceptional care of us. I highly recommend stopping in for a cocktail and some great food. read more

Best of the Best, we love The Charlie Horse Restaurant in Kingston. A+ Best Steak Tips on the South Shore, cooked with perfection, best flavor and tender...served with mashed potatoes and fresh sautéed green beans. Always forget till I'm finished to take pictures, so i guess you'll have to check it out yourself...guaranteed to love it... Best Buffalo Mac & Cheese Didn't get the Baked Scrod tonight but that is also the best. read more

Met a woman for a first date, ever been here Sat at the bar. the bartender was extremely rude. Forcing me to scream my order down the bar (wasnt busy, she just couldnt be bothered) ordered pretzel and poutine I cook and this stuff was nasty, chunky gravy with burnt cheese clumps. I barely ate it and then got violently sick to my stomach later that night. wasn't the alcohol, because I had two drinks. I am the BIGGEST lightweight, literally am buzzed after one beer, and I had TWO White Russians and I didn't feel a thing. zero alcohol What a disappointment. I won't ever eat there again. read more

The service is nice but we waited THREE HOURS just for our food the food was good but I don't recommend if you want food right away. I waited so long I'm currently STILL waiting for our food we got here at 5pm and it's currently 7:30pm.This is ridiculous. Staff is kind but this wait is horrendous. read more

The service is slow the place is extremely dirty and the food is gross, overcooked and overpriced went there on Saturday night with husband waitress starts out ok then no where to be found couldn't get drinks I asked her for recommendations she said Lobster Mac & Cheese $25 on special came out of kitchen like it was microwave for a hour I am not Exaggerating, it took 20 minutes to cool down. The noodles were soggy extremely salty just disgusting there was one piece of lobster in it. Of course I couldn't eat it because it was so gross and the waitress just avoided the table till we requested the bill and left. Trust me just avoid this place if you don't want to waste you money and leave hungry ..it's that bad very disappointing. read more

I love everything about this place. The buffalo chicken Mac and Cheese is possibly the most comforting comfort food in all of Plymouth County. There's a huge bar, the dining room and arcade are really family friendly and the staff is always nice. read more

I've been coming here longer than any other family restaurant (since I was a kid). Recently, the menu was re-done and I was interested to see what changed. I'm glad they kept the buffalo chicken nachos. My friend brought his two children, and I noticed that the kid's menu was very affordable. I ordered more food than I needed because I skipped lunch and I thought people would try my quesadilla (they didn't!) I was pretty good. The buffalo chicken sandwich and fries are also a solid choice. I didn't love the new appetizer: bacon and cheese croquettes. They came with a horseradish sour cream, and while I liked dipping fries in it, the sauce did not wow me. I wouldn't get them again. The Charlie Horse has a decent beverage selection (including Woodchuck cider) and they offer Keno as well, so drink up and give your money to the state. read more

This is a sports bar/family restaurant and that's how it feels. The menu is as diverse as it is uninteresting. We had this chicken ranch flat bread pizza thing as an appetizer that was good in a way that something with that much fat and calories can't possibly not be good. I had a burger for dinner, as this seems like a place to have a burger. It was cooked pretty close to my liking. (med-rare closer to mid but still pink enough not to send back). There was nothing special about the beef but I do like that the sauteed mushrooms I added were portabella. According to the menu, there's a choice in bun too, but my waitress never told me that, I just read it after. The fries, however, were quite good. Drinks, on the other hand were weak and the bar wasn't as well stocked as I would like. read more

I very much enjoyed the food & drink @ The Charlie Horse. 1 star for the staff. 1 star for the food 1 star for the martini. That's all I can give, after I drove by tonight. I'm saddened that the owner chooses to publicly display his lack of empathy, for the indigenous inhabitants, of 'Murika. I find that use of a billboard to be offensive. I won't return to The Charlie Horse, nor will I support the owner. read more

The place is extremely dirty and the food is borderline inedible. I got chicken on a salad and it had a chemical taste to it. They dump the excess dishwasher water out of the wine glasses in front of you before handing it over. There was black gunk in my water glass. read more

3 words: Chipolte BBQ Wings!!! YUM! I always start off with a large order of these bad boys.. I opt for the boneless version, but the sauce is just so sweet and tangy with a side of ranch. Yes, it's a sports bar with an arcade and pool table. It's nothing fancy, but it is a great place for cheap drinks and a game or to bring the whole family for dinner. I usually sit in the bar area with my BF and we play a little Keno. Other good things on the menu are the Chix Mac n Cheese, Quesadillas, Flatbreads, Meatball Sub and Clam Chowder. They also have healthy pours of my favorite Chardonnay on the cheap. Simple bar food, satisfying and priced reasonably. I've been here several times over the past few years, and I will keep coming in for sure. My only suggestion is to come up with a better drink menu. Their current one has some weird too-sweet martinis, and maybe a few frozen drinks. I usually stick to wine, but I always prefer to start with a cocktail..and besides the two types I mentioned, there are no actual rocks drinks listed anywhere. Just sayin', adding like 3-4 signature drinks would be greatly enjoyed. read more

We really like this place. Close to home and food is always consistently good. My only complaint is too much ice in my alcoholic drinks. When the ice comes over the top of your glass... it's too much ice. Won't stop us from coming.. but will drink at home read more

My wife and I went to the Charlie Horse last night. The place was mobbed as usual. I have never had a bad meal there until last night. I had sea food casserole and my wife had the steak tips. We sat at the bar. It was noisy but ok. The music was a little load for me. My casserole was average and some of the scallops weren't cooked at all. The rice pilaf was terrible, starchy mush. The wife's steak tips were good. The service was great. The bar tender was attentive despite being impossibly busy. read more

I have been here many times over the years. Last night I had one of the specials , the Charlie stuffed chicken. Now the description said spinach and red pepper was inside the chicken but it actually was stuffing and broccoli, thankfully I love those so it didn't matter. The garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes are amazing and creamy. Loved the portion size of the meal as most places give you 3 portions worth in one dish. The Italian bread was also a great start. read more

Love The Charlie Horse. We moved Kingston a year ago and this has become one of our favorites. Looking at it, I expected a restaurant that focused on being family friendly, but the food would be secondary and average at best. I was very happy to be wrong! Haven't been here in 10 years. If there was ever a place in need of a face-lift this is it. Bone-in wings are still the best bet as the rest of the menu is tired. So many other options not only in Kingston, but just down the road into Plymouth. read more

It felt more like something I could have steamed and put together myself at home for a simple, healthy weeknight dinner rather than something I'd be excited to order at a restaurant. Maybe we caught the kitchen on an off day, because the consistently high ratings made us expect much more. We specifically chose this place based on those reviews instead of going somewhere with a view and slightly lower ratings. In the end, we got neither the view nor particularly good food, which was disappointing. The kind staff and clam chowder were the bright spots, but based on our meal, I personally wouldn't rate the overall experience anywhere near 4.5 stars.

After reading some of these older reviews I could not disagree more. My husband and I have been dining occasionally at the Charlie Horse in Kingston for roughly the past year. Our experiences in the past have been more that pleasing as first reflected in their involved wait staff (we've always had pleasent and helpful waitresses/ers) and their diverse menu options. This past week we were excited to see an brand new fun and very inviting menu style, with many wonderful additions to their meal choices. For dinner we started off with buffalo wings as they are the best my husband and I have ever had, we ordered them hot as there are four different options to choose from. Our entrees came out withing fifteen to twenty minutes, perfect timing in order to finish our appetizer. For my meal I tried the new shrimp capellini, an angel hair pasta with grilled shrimp, motzarella, and a balsamic glaze. This was a great addition to their pasta dishes, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband got sirloin steak tips, cooked to perfection as he ordered medium-rare. This restaurant has been more than a pleasent staple dining establishment for my husband and I. I strongly encourage others to disregard these previous reviews and stop in to give the new menu a try. Delicious! read more

Hey you disbelievers! I have been going there since the peanuts were being picked up by the owner. He used to be the buss boy. Go figure .. It must be a great place to work if they are all still there and have seen the restaurant evolve from a pub bar to the best Italian, seafood joint and oh do you want a burger? The best on the planet!!! Great menu and friendly staff that will remember you name and such. I think it is awesome and you should check out the new menu too. Best wings on the planet and you are all welcome by the friendly staff. Boo to you yuck people! read more

Great place for a gathering.... the location is convenient, prices are reasonable, the food is consistent and the menu is big enough that everyone can find something they like. I especially like the option of the new outdoor deck! read more

short money and great cod. appetizers are filling so don't order too many. My nephews love the mozzarella sticks and nachos. I can take all four of them there for around 15/person. And that is great for my budget. read more

It's been a bit since we last visited but we did notice the restaurant was busy. The back dining room was being used and guests all seemed to be enjoying themselves. We had two of our grandchildren with us and enjoyed a really nice meal. The bread was a hit right away. Three of our party had pasta dishes (Chicken Parm, Chicken, Broccoli, and Ziti, and a Bolognaise) and I enjoyed a house made chicken pie. All meals were excellent. The grandkids jumped on a chocolate chip cookie skillet with ice cream. I checked the restaurant's website before we went and it was nicely updated with the evening's specials as well as updating pricing on market priced items. I did notice the hours appear to have been extended with the kitchen open approximately an hour later than previoiusly. Parking lot was dark as lighting was out. Suspect the recent upgrade of the septic system and parking lot may have knocked out a connection. I'm sure they'll get that fixed quickly. All in all it was a very nice experience. We'll be back again soon.
