It's rich and delicious, but one is all you need before eating regular oysters (from Duxbury). Had all my regular fav apps, but tried the haddock entree and it was amazingly complex and delicious. Dropped in on a Tuesday night. No reservation. Had 45 minutes to order and eat! Seated promptly in the bar area, which was busy for a Tuesday night in my mind. About 25 tables, but not tightly packed. Felt like an Italian restaurant where you might just share with the table nearest you. I could order nearly anything on the menu. Awesome and terrible with a time crunch! We started with the focaccia bread, which was delicious. We saved some and I'm eating it now. Then it was Splitsville: I mean we split a salad, bolognese and chicken parm. Garden/House Salad was described as fresh, what the kitchen could get, flavorful and colorful. It was all those things and didn't disappoint. Chicken parm was not fried. Was Bell & Evans chicken breast not beat to hell. Was plump, juicy and flavorful. Maybe the best I've ever had. Bolognese was equally good. I'm glad we split everything so we could each try a number of different options. We were out on time and never felt rushed if you can believe it. Four of us went in the evening for a birthday celebration and seeing friends who we haven't seen in quite some time. Had a lovely server named Erin who did a fine job taking good care of us. Just before the meal ended I told her I did not want any extra charges on my bill because the last time they put some kind of admin fee I think is what they call it at the bottom of the bill. Well she said she was unable to do it because it was a policy in both of their restaurants but that she would send over the manager. He arrived and explained that the charge was TO HELP COVER THE COST OF THEIR IMPORTED GOODS LIKE CHEESES AND OILVE OIL.. and something about the tariffs... and they haven't raised their prices for 2 years. Well maybe you should and stop the additional charge. Don't know about anyone else but I am not interested in paying for a restaurants cost of goods or the cost of running their restaurant in general. He did remove it but not before telling me he did not like the way I spoke to him. Personally I don't believe that's why he said that but it was more he did not like what he was hearing. Ok so our waitress Kaitlyn was absolutely lovely and I adored her BUT the meal was overall awful! Appetizer--mussels---9/10 honestly this part was GREAT. But then we got a spicy shrimp fusilli dish and a salmon dish and both were incrediblyyy over-salted, I can't imagine anybody would've found them tasty!? The salmon was especially bad, it had a mustard sauce on it that was not only drenched like a giant puddle underneath, but it tasted like eating straight honey mustard out of the jar with a spoon. Really bad. I also started out with a "rose sangria" which was on their specials drink list, and it tasted exactly like the "juice" I put in my toddler's sippy cup, which is 1 part juice to 3 parts water. lol very disappointing but to their credit they took a couple things off the bill for us. My friend and I ate dinner here tonight for the first time. The restaurant is super easy to find and right off the highway in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking all around the plaza. I was greeted right away and asked if I wanted to sit in the dining room or at the bar which has high top tables we opted for the dining room. For smaller place there's a surprising amount of seating. we started with the drinks I ordered the blood orange martini, and my friend ordered a glass of rosé. Being a bit of a wine freak I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive wine list. One of these surprises included a muller thurgau by the glass from alto adige - for sure going to explore more of the wine list next time we visit. Onto the food I love a good Bolognese however I've never seen a meat and lobster combo. I was curious, the server had great things to say about it, and I'm so glad I ordered it for dinner. While you wouldn't think lobster and oxtail go together, it's clear from this dish that they were meant to be. It's generously portioned, rich and filling, but never fear - they have to go boxes if you're unable to finish your meal like I was. My friend ordered the Cacio e Pepe and said it was really good. Osteria Vivo, a hidden gem in Pembroke! WOW first time here at Osteria Vivo and I can't wait to come back. A little hidden gem in Pembroke. Came here with some friends before a concert at the Soundcheck Studios. I was blown away by the restaurant's ambiance and heard such great things about this place already, I knew I had to check it out. White tablecloths, excellent service, fantastic wine and cocktail menu, the food was also a star of this restaurant. Our server Kevin was great. He was really on top of things which you don't see often. We started off with the tuna tartare and the meatball. I thought my husband was going to eat the whole meatball himself it was so good. And, the sauce...yes get out your bread and just dip, that's all I have to say. It was amazing! I still think about it today. For entrees, I had their Salmon which was good and the presentation was to be noted here. My hubby had their Chicken Parm, and he said it was also good. I had high expectations based on reviews and expectations were met! Our meal was great from start to finish. The hostess was extremely friendly and inviting, as was the restaurant itself. Our waitress was very attentive. And the food was outstanding. We ordered the brown butter gnocchi side as an appetizer along with the burrata. The gnocchi was absolutely delicious, and full of flavor. We were surprised it didn't come as a main. However it is a heavy dish so we're glad we had it as an appetizer. The burrata was refreshing with the blueberry compote but O wish it came with more bread, as there is no serving bread provided. For a main, I had the duck which was phenomenal. Duck was cooked to perfection, tender on the inside and seared to a perfect crisp. It paired well with the date puree. It also came with 4 pumpkin agnolottis- one did not have enough filling. The agnolottis seemed either dry or a bit under cooked. But the pumpkin filling was delicious. The sausage that also comes with the dish is random but also really good! You can tell it's house made and made fresh. My companions ordered the veal Milanese for which she raved about. And the other ordered the pasta pomodoro which she also rated highly The ricotta blueberry cheesecake was so good and light! Tried Osteria this weekend for the first time. We went in right as they opened a little after four. The desk staff seemed a little confused and it could be because they are newer. The entire restaurant was empty but she had to "check" if we were able to be seated. Inevitably we were, just at the tiniest tightest table. We asked our server if we could move and he said yes absolutely. The menu looks great and had a good amount of choices. We went with splitting an app, entree and desert. The app we chose was the arancini. INCREDIBLE. So cheesy and so much flavor and crunch. The entree we chose was the carbonara, we kept it classic. The flavor of the sauce was fantastic but honestly the pasta was undercooked. We still ate all of it but I wish it was a little softer. For the desert we got the coffee caramel tiramisu. That was to die for!! So full of rich and decadent flavor it was different and truly delicious. Overall the vibe here is low key, they're playing some soft Italian music on the radio. Lots of Italian Esque decor with a full mural of Italy in black and white on the dining area wall. The wait staff and food runners were super friendly and helpful. Having gotten take-out from here before, I will no longer do so. The chickpea salad had ingredients that were not only mediocre but also miserly - I ate it in literally 3 regular bites - and yet this place charged $18 for it. Osteria is located in Pembroke, luckily for all who live south of Boston. The traffic is MUCH better in this direction. The location had plenty of parking on all sides of the plaza. The restaurant is small, ideal to book a reservations days in advance. The food was BOMBBBBBBB. I didn't really take photos except this one because I was so immersed in what I was eating. From the drink special, to the food...10/10 I got a strawberry martini, started out the night great. Next was the focaccia which was delicious, mussels followed that. It's suggest you dip the bread in the sauce the mussels come with. You will not regret it. The entree was chicken parm, basic i know- but not a lot of places flavor it correctly. This place did not miss, the pasta did seem a bit under cooked- but not to the point it wasn't edible or it took away from the dish. My partner got the veal parm, i had a bite (obviously)- it was also phenomenal. I wasn't going to get dessert but the food was so delicious i HAD TO. I got the coffee and Carmel tiramisu. Impeccable, the food was so good I wanted to walk in the back and ask who made everything lol. Highly highly recommend. Even the service was 10/10, very very pleasant vibes, very homey, great food. First off, as we pulled in my husband said anxiously "I don't think this is the place you thought it was" (we ate at another lovely Italian restaurant couple of years ago in the area when visiting family). He was right but I assured him that the menu had told me everything I needed to know and so we hoped for the best. I don't often say it but this place exceeded my expectations in every way. Service was excellent and the dishes combined ingredients in a fresh and interesting way. I had the carpaccio and oysters and nibbled on my husband's Bolognese (btw closest to my aunts 5 hr recipe- must have beef/veal/pork always in my book). When the wrong oysters I assumed it was my error and said no problem. All of a sudden the chef-owner shows up with a plate of the composed island creek oysters which are over the top delicious with caviar and quail yoke saying "I thought you needed to have these". Needless to say I was over the moon with this gesture. Other than when we've been in Italy has a chef cared this much about the food and customer. I wish I loved closer because I would eat my way through every dish on the menu. Only critique I have is I would have liked less grated parm on the carpaccio. I got takeout from this Italian restaurant three months ago. I tried their tagliolini bolognese as an entree and the chocolate cake for dessert. The tagliolini bolognese was cooked al dente and came in a ragu consisting of beef, veal and pork. It was delicious! The chocolate cake also was really good. It came with a slice of torched pear and it was not too sweet. Too bad that they are only open for dinner. This place is definitely a hidden gem in the South Shore! read more

Officially my new favorite restaurant. Not a single flaw. I look. First off from 4 to 6 there's $1.50 oysters. They came with 3 different sauces. All great. I had to try their signature oyster. The Composed Glidden Point oysters were dressed with an angelica mignonette, chartreuse, white sturgeon caviar, and quail egg yolk. Phenomenal. Then Foie Gras. It came with evoo cake, plums ( really peaches ) in spruce, mirin and grains of paradise. Foie Gras is my jam. Drumroll please....Rohan Duck Breast. Medium rare of course. I'm an aristocrat. It came with carrot angolotti ( mini ravioli ), pea greens, housemade sausage, and cherry jus. I took.a straw to that. Show stopping. As if that wasn't enough, I got the Coffee and Caramel Tiramisu. Another fantastic diner at Osteria Vivo. Our waiter was absolutely amazing. He was very attentive, knowledgeable with great recommendations. My cup was never empty and a dirty dish didn't sit in front of me for more than 2 minutes. Second time in a row we ordered Squash Blossoms for an appetizer. This time they were JONAH CRAB STUFFED SQUASH BLOSSOMS. These were fried and stuffed with a creamy crab filling. There was a nice aioli sauce to dip them in. Light and delicious. Off to a great start. I ordered the ORGANIC SALMON. The salmon was cooked medium and seasoned perfectly. The Cauliflower purée was absolutely stunning and I was dying for more. The Lobster Pasta special was such a nice surprise. SPICY! We love spicy stuff so it hit the spot. Always love the toasted bread crumbs on top of the fresh pasta. The lobster was cooked perfect. Decided to stop in after a day out with my mom and so glad we did. This is now my most highly recommended place to tell people to go to in the south shore / ma area! I got some grapefruit sprits as a drink and it was amazing! If I could I would drink it all day We got the focaccia and it was delicious with pesto and oil. Then for entrees I got the honey nut "ufos" and I couldn't recommend them enough they were out of this world. I then tried a bite of my moms duck and it was very good with a crispy skin but what was really good was the sausage that came with it, it was packed full of flavor and I wasn't ready for how good it truly was. Then we got the cannolis and who doesn't love a cannoli they were beautiful and delicious. A little big so we took one home just cause we were so full. But oh so good! The food wasn't the only thing that was fantastic the staff was sweet and went out of their way it was a Thursday and seemed pretty busy but we never had to wait long for anything and they checked in frequently. Our first visit. Food outstanding. We had Caesar Salad and Escargot for appetizers and both were amazing. Entrees: Spaghetti Carbonara and Halibut Salmoriglio were spectacular. Service was superb not only from our server but all "helpers". Wine list decent. Parking is limited. Signage is not great. Awning is not lit up. Our first visit and although street sign indicates that it is in the strip mall, we needed to ride through twice to find the exact location. Thank goodness for all of this since our impression upon arrival was not good from the "hostess". We had a reservation for two and was offered an undesirable table. When we asked if we could be seated at another open table for two, we were told that it "was for a reservation". Umm, we were there for a reservation for two. What was the difference? After "stressed" comments from her, we were seated at the better table. Ironically, the other "reservation" couple arrived and were seated 45 minutes later. It was only this that affected our rating. Wow! Dinner for 4. If we had to vote on a favorite it would be the baked haddock salmoriglio. But by a very slim margin! Glazed scallops, mushroom ravioli with truffle and cacio e pepe were so amazing. Atmosphere was lively with low lighting and tables were placed with care (not on top of each other) Our server was fantastic- Kevin. Attentive, helpful and really went with our flow! The main reason that I sent a Yelp review (restaurant page did not have a link for reviews) is that the front house Team was beyond accommodating. We had to change our arrival time twice and also asked for help in order to surprise our guest. They were so gracious and pulled it off. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
