I reached out to discount painting to paint my baseboards ( which were in rough shape ) as well as paint my condo. I also was torn on replacing my cabinets but they were great cabinets I just hated the tan color. The gentleman assured me he could paint the cabinets and make them look brand new. And that's exactly what he did!!!! They dismantled my cabinets and took them with them. Sanded them down along with baseboards. Primed them 3x and painted them white. They look flawless! Alex doesn't deserve the time it took me to write this review. Mr excuse of the day is the most unethical contractor I've seen in a while. He walked the job late in the evening after driving back from California.... We thought he was great initially, but I noticed that he didn't take any notes. He asked us to pick out colors and he would put them on the wall for us to see. He didn't talk about type, reflectivity etc.... After we agreed on the colors he sent his people out to pressure wash. He was supposed to come, his people waited, he never showed. We were told that they would be back Monday and that it would take 3 days. No one showed on Monday, Alex had a ready excuse for us about scheduling. The next day we came home expecting to see the color choices for us to see but the whole house was painted in a color that we hated. We tried to let it grow on us but to no avail. There were parts of the house painted wrong, they dumped buckets out and killed the grass, the red door bubbled immediately and looks terrible.. It took 4 days to get him to come back out. When he did, he decided that then was the time to educate us about all things paint. That my lack of understanding was my fault and he blamed me for sounding so convincing when I chose the color. He had an excuse for everything. He didn't offer to get paint samples to fix the problem so I did it myself. THE EMPLOYEES AT SHERWIN WILLIAMS INFORMED ME OF HIS REPUTATION OF BUYING MIS-TINT PAINT AT DISCOUNTED PRICES. He started sending my calls to voicemail and ignoring my text messages for over a week. I finally hired another painter to do the job. When I finally got ahold of him, he claimed he called me, he claimed another call must have come in when I called him, and that is why my call was declined... Al is very knowledgeable & super polite. he can sell the job like no one else in Las Vegas, but like the site says, Discount Painting- should I say more ? you get what you pay for A whole lot more paint on the bathroom vanities, brand knew toilets, sinks,window frames,stove, light fixtures, real varnished oak railings,but many areas dust never blown away, just left untouched in the closets. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews. We made the mistake of giving "Al" a $1000 deposit, then he ignored all attempts to verify the time we scheduled to meet him. It wasn't until we told him he needs to return our deposit immediately that he began to respond, but this was 15 minutes before the alleged scheduled time and he knows we live at least 25 minutes away because I told him when he was at the property for the estimate. Now he is claiming he has a right to keep our money even though we never even agreed on the paint colors! We were supposed to meet today to finalize everything and THEN they might have begun the work, but we can't do that when we can't verify the time to meet. Also, he requested a key and under no circumstances should you be giving a stranger a key to your home! Now we had to dispute the payment and hope the bank gets our money back for us because he is insisting that he has a right to withhold it. He did NOTHING. He sent me an estimate/quote. We scheduled a time, and then when I simply needed him to text, call or email me the time (because I had a lot going on at the time when we met and set it up) he goes completely MIA. His brother "Anthony" is even worse, he told me to call back in the morning and then all calls went directly to voicemail. Why couldn't they just tell me what the scheduled time was? Just ignored calls and attempts to contact and then put us off all the while holding our money. Then he claims he is going to pay his crew for the day with our money for literally nothing done. Just because you show up to the site doesn't mean you are entitled to keep $1000! What a total scam! There's no way he didn't receive my contacts as I attempted to reach him THREE different ways. Suddenly his phone worked though when he realized we were serious about getting our money back! Thief! It's been about 7 hours now and not a dime has been returned to us either. A honest, reputable company would have returned the money immediately. There is just no excuse for keeping it since no work was actually done at all. We can only imagine how horrible the work would have been if they are pulling this "we didn't get your texts, calls or emails" bull! We don't buy it! Anthony and his team were very professional. I live out of state and I had two rental properties that needed a quick turn around so that I can get new renters in. Anthony personally went to both properties, sent me pictures of the items he thought needed attention and we agreed on a very reasonable price and time frame. His workers came on time everyday and were very professional. Their painting skills were really good and knew what needed to be done to get the job done. After the job was done, we went into the property and video chatted with me to show me the completed job and if there were any issues I spotted, he would have fixed it. They were one of 3 verified painters Home Depot recommended. Tony contacted me first out of the three and immediately came by for an estimate. I have been very hesitant to write a review because I do not like to write negative reviews but I feel this is necessary. I don't really want to get into specifics about the experience itself. Or the negatives because it's been awhile now and I'd like to lay it to rest. I will tell you that his one painter, I can't remember his name, he's Greek though is AMAZING. I would give him 5 stars in a second. I feel bad for the negative experience because he was truly awesome and he is a great worker. He deserves a raise. He was such a joy to have in our house! At the time our house was empty, and we trusted him to paint away alone in there so we didn't have to be sitting around in an empty house. The reason I am posting something now about this is because I had originally hired them to build a wall for me closing off my bathroom to my master bedroom, it looked amazing, the quality seemed great. I watched them build it and it seemed right. However 7 months later, the wall is cracking all around the seam of the wall. I can draw a line on the cracks and outline the entire wall that was built. I'm not sure if it's the stability of the wall, or just the stucco, but if anyone has a wall built or anything stucco'd keep an eye on it. I'm sure discount painting would warranty it if it happens to you, because after all was said and done, they did keep smiles on their faces. Unfortunately my project ended in a negative way, so I will have to hire someone else to fix it. So just be cautious! What caused my experience to be negative was a lot of miscommunication and an employee that wasn't too great, I don't think any of these guys are bad people, I do believe they are hard workers and value their reputation. He had two guys come out, Dan and another guy. Both very very friendly and patient. I took about 45 minutes to finally decide on the color but Dan was especially patient with me. Anthony offered to do two colors with no extra charge! The guys were very neat, cleaned up after themselves and were very respectful of my items in the home. If you're looking for a job done even remotely on time these are not your guys. some of the employees are very talented but most of them lack attention to detail and will do sloppy work to move onto the next job as quickly as possible. I called him and asked for him to come out and give us an estimate, he said of course no problem see you tomorrow afternoon. I told him had to be early afternoon since no one will be home late afternoons. He said I will call you before but should be there between 11-12... and of course he doesnt call or show up. I reached out to him to follow up and he accuses me of speaking to "Danny" for a 3pm appointment, i told him no never spoke to anyone but you and told you I cant do late afternoons. Where should I start? I got their card from the bulletin board at Dunn And Edwards. I requested estimates from several companies, surprisingly, they all showed up, that's not my normal experience with trade people, in this town. They gave me a verbal estimate, follow up by a written estimate that was $28 less than the verbal. The estimate I received from Discount Painting was not the lowest or the highest, but their presentation and knowledge was the most impressive. Also, they are licensed, bonded and insured. They arrive at 9:00 AM on New Years day, they normally show up at 8:00 AM, but wanted to give my neighbors a break if they partied the night before. They called me on the phone when they arrived each morning. The first day was preparation, moving stuff out of the way, pressure washing everything to knock off dirt and old paint. The second day was a continuation of preparation, cutting branches, masking tape and plastic wrap to protect windows and anything that wasn't suppose to be painted. Third day painting. And removing a majority of the masking tape and plastic, I could see out my windows again. At the end of the day they said they would be back Monday, I said that would be fine, but I wouldn't be there to provide access, because I work on Monday, they would have to use the ladders to access the back yard. He said he would come back tomorrow (Sunday) . Fourth day, they painted the bird blockers below the tiles on the edge of the roof, whoever painted it before had over spray all over the bird blockers. It was also was touch up , putting the domes back on the lights, cleaning a slight over spray on one of the windows and clean up. You don't realize how bad your old paint looked until you have it painted, it's a difference of night and day. I'm happy with the job they did and I would recommend Discount Painting to anyone. read more

He finally agreed he would have his guy "do another coat" since the paint didn't "stick." So after feeding me his lies, promised he would go touch it up and when I went back to check, he had not touched any of the touch ups his guys missed. They painted my house 2yrs ago. Now my attic vents are peeling and I called them to come out and see what was happening. They don't stand behind their work. They put on base coat and then painted but they are telling me 2yrs later that they should of been sanded and base and paint. I wish they would of told me this before they started.
