I have been to this location multiple times since moving to Dawsonville, and always had great customer service until this most recent visit, which was a disaster from start to finish. I ordered four new tires on Saturday, and was promised by Scott that they would be delivered and my truck ready on Monday. I also informed him that I would drop my truck off Saturday so that they had the ability to work on it at any time on Monday. I spoke with him about needing a rear alignment. When I arrived, he was confused as to why I was there. I then never received a call whatsoever on Monday from the location to inform me about the status of my vehicle, only to find out when I called them that two of the tires would not even arrive until the following day. This completely contradicts what I was told by Scott and promised. They never attempted to reach me to explain the delay, which caused me to have to take another day away from work without a vehicle. Then today, I had to call multiple times and spoke with Donovan, who while nice, literally said "I have no idea what is going on with your vehicle and nobody is responding to me when I ask them why they called you." This is horrible customer service for me to have to call multiple times to get answers. I then inquired about the status of my alignment, and was informed that the sales rep had not added the alignment to the ticket, therefore it had not been performed! Yet another delay. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I inquired about the warranty on my previous tires as they did not last very long and were under the stated warranty. They told me that the warranty was 30,000 miles, then corrected themselves and said 15,000 miles because the tires on the front and back are different sizes, so the warranty is then only 50%, yet when I asked for documentation of this, none was provided. I did not get close to the warranty, which was confirmed by Donovan. I then asked how they were going to fix that, and was finally offered a minimal discount. The customer should not have to do this, nor make the business do what is right by the customer when they have a warranty to honor. Finally, I had been receiving alerts in my vehicle's mobile app for two hours that the staff of the location never locked my car and left it unsecured sitting in the parking lot with my personal items in it. I am not sure what has happened at this location since I was there a year ago, but very disappointed in the complete lack of basic customer service and follow-up. I literally declined buying $3K in tires with my vehicle's dealership to give this location the business based on my previous excellent customer service, and that was clearly a bad decision. I cannot recommend this location after this absolutely horrible experience. read more

7/10/24. (Updated/corrected review) "After inspection of all 4 wheels upon getting home." On 5/25/24 at approximately 1315 hours, I came to Discount Tire (Dawsonville, GA location Store # 44) to get four Falken Wildpeak 255/55/19 tires put onto my 2014 Acura MDX SH-AWD Advance. The OEM Acura wheels at this time were unchipped, scratched, and etc. Discount tire employees were able to work on my vehicle at approximately 1340 hours. After approximately 15 minutes later. They were finished with installing my tires. I thought this was extremely fast as I never experienced such a fast service. Later on the same day at approximately 1532 hours at my residence, I was cleaning/removing the mounting lube from my new tires and wheels. While cleaning, I observed several scratches on the edge of all 4 of my wheels. Upon closer inspection, the scratches are into the clear coat/paint and I was unable to polish it out. I also noticed clear coat chips on 2 of 4 wheels that appear to been produced affer the mounting of the new tires. I also noticed a chip on wheel area where the lug nut holes area. I also observed a few chips on the edge of lips of the wheels as well. Affer I observing these damages, I called Discount Tire (Dawsonville) where I spoke to Austin on the phone. Mr. Austin advised me to email photos of the damages of the wheels as I was unable to come back because of me having to pick up my baby. Austin later called me and advised me that he would be able to refinish the wheels or replace them with aftermarket wheels of my choice. I informed him that I did not want the genuine Acura wheels refinished due to longterm durability of the wheels. I advised that I would prefer new replacement OEM wheels. I never got a call back by Austin as it appeared he forwarded me to their 3rd party claims company (Fleet Response). They blamed me for the damages for the wheels and offered me $200 as a goodwill. Affer I complained and said the marks on my wheels were made by a machine as you can clearly see and it wasn't previous damages. They upped the reimbursement to $600 which still doesn't cover Acura Oem replacement wheels of $2300. I was super upset and contacted Discount Tire customer service where they said they would follow up with me by having a store manager contact me. It's been over 2 weeks and I still have not heard anything. I would highly avoid this location as they are not careful with your wheels and will lie and blame you for the damages that they clearly caused by their wheel mounting machine. read more

I pulled into Discount Tire in Dawsonville in the thick of a busy Saturday morning with a golf cart wheel I didn't buy from them -- just needed the tire swapped onto a new rim after I gave the original one some "curb character." The young man at the counter (dead ringer for a classic, young Ron Jeremy - mustache and all) treated me like I was dropping $1800 on a full set of Michelins. He personally handled the swap since his folks were busy helping other customers, had me on my way fast, and wouldn't take a dime. It was like he was my son and wanted to make me proud. This kind of service is rare if not completely extinct these days. Little does this young man know that his actions have earned my business from here on out. They're not all home runs, but this definitely made my weekend a little easier, a little brighter. Highly recommend. Even if all you bring in is a humble golf cart wheel, they'll treat you like royalty. read more

I was looking for an adjective that best summarizes my experience today at Discount Tire in Dawsonville. WOW!! I have been a loyal customer of another automotive service center in Dawsonville for many years, but recently, they have not impressed me. So, I recently took to Yelp to search for reviews for other tire businesses. After reading many five-star, positive reviews from fellow yelpers like @Juliette J and others, I decided to try Discount Tire to replace a set of four tires on my 1999 Ford F150 pickup. I compared prices from multiple vendors and found the discount tires website impressive. I could input my vehicle information, driving habits, and preferences and was shown all of the tire sets available in stock at this local store. At 11:45 PM last night, I purchased a set of four MICHELIN DEFENDER LTX M/S tires that fit my truck. I completed the sale online and scheduled an installation appointment for 12:15 p.m. today. Their website allowed me to let them know I was on my way and to check in online. I walked into the lobby at 12:15 today, gave my keys to a service advisor, and was told my installation would be complete in an hour or less. The lobby was clean and comfortable, the store was busy, and there was a lot of walk-in traffic. I planned to walk over to Publix to pick up a few items, grab some lunch at Jersey Mike's, and return to Discount Tire to wait on my truck. My truck was in the bay being worked on less than three minutes after my arrival, so I thought I would wait. At 12:42, my truck was out of the bay, and as the technician drove it to the front door, the app page told me my truck was done and ready for pickup. Hands down, this was the best tire-buying experience I have had. I could find, research, and purchase the tires of my choice, have them installed, and be out the door in less time than an average convenience store run. I have been here twice with tire issues and both times the service has been amazing. They staff is helpful and if you have a mail in your tire in a place they can patch it they will and for free. They also do tire inspections in case you think or your car alarm tells you there is an issue. You can also order tire lug nuts here. My husband has a F-150 and needed new lug nuts and order them here and then they put them on as soon as they came in. Get the app and make appoints on it and you can get updates on the service as well through it. Over all this place has my tire business. read more

Today we had a 12PM appointment for 4 new tires on our Toyota Camry. I had spoke with Levi, Chris and John before over the phone and in person about tire choices at this Dawsonville location. Upon arriving we were greeted by Jonathan and Chris who immediately checked us in and started servicing our vehicle. Within 1 hour they had our tires mounted, balanced and tested for quality by 1pm. They provided great customer service and made sure we were satisfied with our purchase. I trust this staff and their loyalty to the customers that they exhibited during our experience with Discount Tire Dawsonville. After going to the Dawsonville location to inquire about a tire recall and replacement, the counter man appeared to be clueless about the recall and didn't see that we had the recalled tires. After going home and verifying that I did indeed have the faulty tires I called the Dawsonville store to inquire about getting the replacements and was told that they only had one in stock and would have to bring one in. I was told they would have the replacement set by noon on the next day, Thursday January 18th. I took off work to get this done only to find that there was no record of my visit and no one had ordered any tire for me. I was then informed that the Gainsville and Cumming locations both had the tires but they couldn't tell me when they could have them delivered to the Dawsonville location. Having already taken off work and needing to get this done, I called the Cumming store to verify the tires were in stock and had to make the drive all the way down to Cumming. I will not be returning to Dawsonville location in the future and will gladly give the new "Tire Discounters" across the street a try next time. I have been to this store 2-3 times and have been satisfied each time. I am not "wowed" much, but today had me saying WOW. My appointment was 1215, truck brought in at 1220, message at 1131 that they were done. That is NEVEE the case anywhere else. The professionalism, speed of service annnd, it was free, rotate and balance, since I purchased tires there. I HIGHLY recommend them. read more

Physically Attacked & The Actions Are Condoned By Management!!! I am a female customer who was physically attacked by a Dawsonville Discount Tire Tech (Jackson). Please note he is still employed at this location. Management apparently condone their male employee (Jackson) to damage customers property, behave in a hostile, combative and unprofessional manner toward female customers. The incompetent Technician, Jackson became aggressive and physically forearm me to my chest after HE damaged MY PROPERTY. The blundering Tech (Jackson) not only put gashes and punctures in my custom painted rims he smeared oil all over them. My advice is to avoid this location all together especially the inept technician, Jackson. I was under the impression I was dealing with professionals. They only give lip service to being people of respectability. There were not any disciplinary actions taken against Jackson via management. This location lacks accountability & integrity. read more
