Quite disappointed with the employee Mark. Poor customer service and less than adequate people skills. I ordered the spare tire shown in the pictures (note that it is supposed to include the rim), yet when I showed up to pick it up, the rim was not included. When I politely asked why, Mark acted like I'm such ignorant customer as in his opinion I am supposed to guess that what I paid for does not include the rim. Yet again and again, I pointed to the receipt showing the tire WITH THE RIM. he frowned, stopped responding to me, and when I asked for a refund, he seemed annoyed to give me my money back. So, if you still decide to go to this location, I strongly recommend you avoid this Mark individual. read more

I don't appreciate the employees going through my center console and stealing from me since they've been the only ones in my car besides myself. Petty theft is bad for business. I'll find somewhere else to get my tires serviced. Update: I have went to the link provided and provided additional feedback of this situation. After reviewing my dash cam, the employee sat in my car for 5 minutes waiting for a bay to open. I know he went through my console and took my personal property. I'm extremely disappointed with the service at the Discount Tire location in Friendswood. Despite having a scheduled appointment, my vehicle wasn't serviced in a timely manner. No one called to confirm my appointment, and when I arrived--a full week after placing an order for tires and a rim--I was told the rim had never been ordered. I was then told it would take another week. When the following weekend came, I still hadn't heard anything after they informed me they would reach back out to me. I had to call them myself, and was told they couldn't even get in contact with the carrier until Monday and didn't know where the rim was. This is now two weeks past the original service date. To make matters worse, I later found out--after visiting a different Discount Tire location in Pearland--that the tire pressure sensors weren't even working because Friendswood never installed them correctly. Only one sensor was installed when all four should have been. Thankfully, the Pearland team was professional, helpful, and honored the warranty to replace the sensors with no issues. The lack of communication, accountability, and attention to detail at the Friendswood location is completely unacceptable. The employees here demonstrated a clear lack of professionalism. I had an appointment and arrived on time. I was told it would take 45 minutes. At 45 minutes my truck was still sitting in the parking lot! When I asked an employee he tried to say the scheduling system is 30% more effective...maybe more effective than chaos! He then said there is typically an hour delay..despite having an appointment and being told the work would be completed in 45 minutes from arrival. I am still waiting for a simple rotation to be completed...SMH read more

Discount Tire has been my go-to tire store for decades. They have always provided me with excellent customer service as well as a fair price on tires. A couple months ago, I stopped in the Friendswood location and purchased four tires from Chandler. He took the time to look at my current tires to see if they really needed to be replaced. I knew they needed it when I went in but he confirmed my suspicions. I ended up buying four Yokohama tires for my mid-sized SUV. Chandler provided excellent customer service throughout. Today, two months and 7500 miles later (yes, I drive a lot), I stopped in and had them rotated. Again, Chandler provided great service. Tip: Discount Tire provides free flat repair, balance, rotation, and air checks regardless of where you buy your tires. They also now sell and install wipers. Bottom line - If you need tires or wipers, stop in at your local Discount Tire. If you're in Friendswood, ask for Chandler. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

I didn't like the answer and the length of time it took at my dealership so I called around. This location was able to answer my questions and see me that day with an appointment. First off this is the first discount tire in which it was easy to drive into meaning, I didn't have to parking immediately as I turned in or wait in a line to drive in on a busy road. Parking lot is big and spacious. Once I parked I was met with two employees as I stepped out of my car. One asked me question and looked at my issue while the other one took a quick look at other tires. They gave me timely updates as well as a link sent to my phone to see the progress. I was probably there less than an hour. The waiting area is big and everyone that worked there that I encountered were friendly and accommodating. Big kudos to the employees that make this location because honestly you made a long day of dealing with my car seem not so bad. read more

SLOW SERVICE IS BAD SERVICE..Slowest discount tire I've ever experienced in many years, ever..They didn't keep the order of customers. People came in later even way later than me and drove off before. And no it wasn't just for a pick up. The fake "hey we'll be right with you" just made everyone more upset in here. They forgot to put one sensor back in tire a year ago so we didn't worry about it until last week, we purchase a new set of 4 tires and gave them a new mercedes sensor that was in the glove box. They asked for all 4 from the glove box to install in the new tires, now none of them work, it looks like they installed 2 of the 4 and left 2 old ones in and now they want to charge us for 4 new sensors. Horrible customer service. While we were there, two other customers claimed they had sensors not working and just had new tires put on. read more

Have a flat? Drive right past Discount Tire without stopping. This store, after speaking with their "sales manager" today, told me my tire was irreparable...and tried to sell me an entire set of new tires. The vehicle's tires were from a reputable brand and only 1-year old! We took it to a competitor and the tire did not need a repair since the nail was in the tread. In fact, the nail had not punctured the entire tire. I hope from this review someone is not talked into overpaying $1000 for a simple flat. read more

I have never had a bad experience at a discount tire. The wait might be a little long (expect 30-45 minute wait without an appt.) but the guys and girl have always been friendly to me. I do always buy the warranty on the tires I buy from here which helps a LOT on return visits for issues. I can't remember the last time I had to pay to replace a tire because the warranty covers all tire damage. Fair prices, and friendly people. read more

There's no point in making an appointment unless people without appointments wait days for service. I took two cars in for service, one day after the other, showed up at my appointed time and was told on day 1 it would take an hour for rotating and balance and on day 2, it would take an hour and a half. When asked why the wait, I was told there were people in front of me. So, even with an appointment, you're just put in line with everyone else. read more

The store is well managed and the staff is professional and customer focused. Prices are very competitive. Always get the road hazard certificate on your tires . I highly recommend that you take pictures of your tires before and after using this store. This is the first time I've ever had an issue with this store and I've used them for years. I took my car (2 years old) in to get a nail plugged. I later receive a call stating that I will need a whole new tire due to the technician discovering a "slash" on the outside of the tire. I decline for the time being due to the fact that they do not have the tire in stock and being without my car doesn't work with my schedule. When I get the car back, the tire and rim are in horrible shape. Nothing like the other 3. When I call and speak to the manager (the sales associate that was helping me) I'm told that maybe the tire was put back on backwards. ‍I ask if there's video footage from inside the service area so I can see the treatment of this rim and tire and I'm informed there isn't...which I find odd or a flat out lie. So now, I have 1 mangled rim and tire I didn't previously have that doesn't look like the other 3 and it's my word against theirs. . So, again...TAKE PICTURES before dropping off here. A plug for a nail could turn into a huge expense and headache. read more

This is the second time I've been at this location. It's closer to home so I should be able to come here and enjoy the great service this company is known for at any location but that is not the case. The first time I let them know I had a slow leak in a brand new tire I just bought for them and the next day it was low again so I had to go back and have them redo it. This time I went in today, recently purchased 3 tires at different times from them and wanted to replace the last one. The kid that helped me was a blond with black fingernail polish. Asked me for my number and looked up my order history, asked me if I had it under a different phone number and I told him no, it's just me. He was able to see that I had 4 invoices from discount tire but not what it was. I couldn't understand why he needed to look at the invoices, why not just see why tires are on my car or look them up in the system? He proceeded to tell me that he had a tire in stock for $159 but he wanted to double check my tires to see if it was the same one. He went back outside and looked and told me no that is not the same one but he found the one it was. I'm like awesome, let's get it changed but tells me it's going to be $172. I paid a little over $100 all the other times so I didn't understand why this one was almost double. I let the kid know that I did not pay even close to that the other times and he said he could see the prices I paid but not what it was for. I told him forget it, I'll go to another location and he asked me if I was sure because they could change it but he couldn't do anything about the price. Earlier this month I had 4 tires put on a boat trailer for $48.00. Today (6/15/23) I called the store about having the same exact tires put on a travel trailer and was told the price would be $96.00. I asked why the increase since I had the same tires put on earlier this month for 1/2 that price. I spoke to Philip who looked up the transaction from earlier this month and he told they would put the tires on for $48.00. I made sure he knew it was a travel trailer. I went to the store the same day and spoke to Philip. He said the price would be $96.00 because it was a travel trailer and they had to balance the tires because we would be riding in it - total lie! I asked why he didn't tell me that when I called and he didn't have an answer except to say he was sorry. Have been loyal to this store since its opening. Had an extremely poor transaction today. Being aware of needing 3 tires, the sales person "attempted" to get information on newest replaced good tire (4th) and had no record of it being replaced. I in the past have ONLY used this location. One of the 3 tires needing to be replaced HAD previously been replaced. It came with a warranty. I had purchased 4 certificates when it was bought; however, I was told ALL 3 were NOT under warranty. I was aware the two were not covered as they were original tires from the dealer. First I was told normal wear and tear were not included and it had to be punctured to be replaced but I was also told I did not have the certificates for that. I WAS ABLE TO FIND ORIGINAL receipt which showed certificates but no warranty. I questioned how Bridgestone could sell a 60k tire that was faulty to not actually last 60k and this tire in question had far less mileage than my vehicle had at 38k as it had been purchased two years later. He asked if I wanted him to call Bridgestone but then transferred me to another sales person. The sales person reviewed all I had previously shown. I was told they aren't on commission, they don't upcharge but I was also told one of my tires was not warranted when in FACT IT WAS. As I had previously purchased the 3 new tires so they could begin working and not waste any more time, I was then told Bridgestone was called and the one tire was actually COVERED under warranty and I was given a credit. My issue with them is stating tires do not have warranties when they do. (I am aware that all tires do not have but I knew all of MY purchases DID included.) My other issue is with record keeping as they had no record that I had purchased 4 certificates while I had receipt proving I did. Had I not questioned this transaction today, I would have been severely taken advantage of. The customer service at this store is quite lacking!I am also highly suspect that that 4th tire had been covered under warranty and replaced without documentation so at future replacements it could be all charged at full price. I will be using this as a learning curve as I personally do not remember the circumstances regarding the 4th tire and since I have no paperwork on it, it will be a moot issue. I would strongly suggest keeping every document from this location to dispute against what you are told. Keep your receipts in your glove box! Know if you are purchasing warranted items that they should be warranted and do not just go off their word that the tires are not warranted. Know what your certificates cover so they aren't making you purchase them to be told you did not purchase them. Keep all documentations for all transactions for this store. I am quite disappointed to have had this happen today as their actions seem fraudulent. I hope management corrects issues like this swiftly as I have never had issues with them prior. But one bad apple does spoil the whole bunch. read more

This store is quick to want to sell you but their service is horrible. I've been waiting 2 hours just to have the balance checked on tires they sold and installed 6 weeks ago. They have told me twice now that I'm next in only to take another car ahead. The counter guy finally said he didn't know what the back was doing any more. One guy just told a woman it would be an hour and forty five min wait but he would put her car in line and she could just come back in an hour! Somehow I didn't get that option. Another guy just told someone on the phone they only take walk ins despite telling me appointments had been taking priority pushing my car further back in the line! Seriously, big box stores like this just don't provide the service of local shops and the price isn't that different. Don't waste your time here. read more

I've had mixed feelings about Discount Tire since they first came to Houston. I don't like the all-to-common long lines (even with appointment). And I loathe the policy of answering the phone instead of waiting on the customer at the counter. Many of the locations felt kinda shady and I was reluctant to send my wife or daughters there. I also don't know just how "discount" the tires have been. None of this is true at the Friendswood location. The manager "Stew" has been incredibly helpful in deciding the best choice for our not-for-ordinary tire needs. He runs an honest, ethical business which is also reflected in his well-trained staff, like Thomas and Aaron who helped me today. I never hesitate in my tire purchases here. I went in Friday to get them to patch my tire, they said a 45 minute wait, when I came back to pick up my truck, I trusted that it was fixed and patched up, so I drove off. The next morning (yesterday) I got in my truck and noticed the tire light on! After further investigation, I noticed the nail was still in the tire, and they never even did anything with it. All they did was air up my tires and said it was fixed. I like going to discount tire, but will never go to this location again, this has been the worst service I have ever received from this company. I will never go back to this location. read more

This is not a review of service. I was never able to get service although I went on two separate days. I went on a Tuesday then tried again on Wednesday. The first day I went in and asked to get my tire plugged. I was very specific about which tire it was because my OnStar alert told me the info I needed. Despite my direct request, I was taken outside where all 4 of my tires were inspected quickly and what do you know, I was told that all 4 of my tires needed service. "No thank you sir, can you please just plug my right rear tire?' Only to be told it would be 1 1/2 hours before they could see me. Well I had just spoken to someone on the phone who told me it would take 15-20 minutes. I left.... When I went Wednesday, I stood in line for 5-10 minutes without being acknowledged so I left. I ended up taking my car to a little shop in Galveston where it was fixed promptly. I don't see myself coming back here. read more
