I've had this exact wheel and tire setup for years and have never run into that issue before. I called several other Discount Tire locations, and they all told me the same thing: as long as the tire isn't coming off the wheel. There is absolutely no benefit to making an appointment at this location. Despite having an 8:00 AM appointment and arriving just one minute after opening, I was not checked in until 8:40. Service is clearly handled on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of scheduled appointments. While several employees were present at the counter, only two appeared to be assisting customers. This is by far the most inefficient and poorly managed store in the area. If you have the option, I strongly recommend choosing a different location. read more

0 stars if I could. They put on the wrong size tires for my Tesla. I got a bunch of alerts the same day so I brought it back in the next day. They told me to take the car to Tesla. Tesla told me that it was bad and that discount tires put on the wrong size and that it could damage the drive train. So here I am at discount trying to replace my tires with the correct size while they're acting like I'm the inconvenience but I'm the one that had to drive around for two months with the wrong size tires. read more

This is by far the worst discount tire I've ever been to. They will make you wait 30+ minutes just to drop a vehicle off. I had a ride waiting in the parking lot for over 30 minutes before someone finally helped me. Horrible customer service I had an appointment made under my mothers account I followed all the text message prompts for online check in only to be told there was no appointment made at the time "Chris" didn't even bother asking me my name if he did he could see we have the same last name. Just stood there perplexed staring at the computer and my phone that had a clear appointment for that time even read date and location back to me. Then he wants to say its on us because it was under a woman's name if he bothered doing anything other than surface level research, or ask me my name he would see it clearly matches up with the account making an appointment. Guy cant even take accountability for not knowing how to use a computer. I even offered to give him my name or number and he just kept repeating he wasn't seeing an appointment for that time. Find better employees this is the first time I've ever had a bad experience at this location. Anybody with an ounce of experience could have cross referenced appointments and times and say only appointment we have is _______ and I say yes I know ________ I'm related to her that's my appointment. Instead I was denied and made to feel like it's my fault buddy can't work a computer. In other news it's 2025 and I could be called Gloria as a male so the fact he didn't even ask my name and just assumed it wasn't me is a whole other issue you should try an educate your staff on. read more

I don't even know where to begin. Such an easy and efficient process. I set up my appointment online and went ahead and ordered my tires at that time. I pulled up the morning of they had a bay blocked off with my name on it. Everyone was EXTREMELY nice and PROFESSIONAL! I had ordered the wrong size tires so Ashton helped me navigate through that and getting it corrected. I bought four new tires and the whole process took 30 minutes. I definitely expected being there longer than that. I truly had the best experience. I had briefly considered going somewhere else for tires but I am glad i didn't. after today I will only go to Discount Tires. I ordered tires on September 2. Waited for almost a week and was called at the last minute and said the tires were not in. I was called at almost 7:45am when my appointment was at 8:15am. I waited another week and was told that the tires would be in that day. Never arrived, they were nice enough to call me later and tell me that they would swap out a little better than the ones that I ordered. The tires were installed finally on September 21. Not really what I wanted because I did not want mud style tires for my truck. The tread is a little more aggressive than I like. When I arrived to have my Tires installed, I have wheel ring lights that go around my dust shield on each tire. I made sure they knew they were on there so they would not tear them up. My rims are new style and have two holes for different stems. The shop that installed them originally, installed the valve stems inverted so they would not hit my brake caliper. The technician that installed my tires, put the valve stem out instead of inverting it. needless to say, it tore up my passenger side wheel light which now I have to pay $100 and get a new one. When I got home, I was checking the damage to my lights and realized that they installed 39-1/4 ounce weights on one tire. double and triple stacked them as well. One of the weights is half on the other and half off. I sent pictures to Corporate and never heard back from them. I wanted to ask if they felt 9 3/4 ounce of weight was acceptable for one wheel. If I was the technician, I would've broke the tire down, rotated it 180° and then try to rebalance. But again I'm not the tire expert. They used to get all my business with my vehicles. Needs to buy a set of 4 tires for my son's RAV4. The folks were very pleasant on the phone and ordered the tires I needed. We were able to get them same day. They were installed very efficiently...less than 2 hours. Salespeople were kind and helpful. Even had them replace wiper blades that were worn. Price was what I would expect for Michelins. Made an appointment to have a nail in tire fixed for 9am. I arrived 10 minutes early and wasn't helped until 910. Said I have appt to get one tire fixed. He insisted on scanning all 4 tires before proceeding even tho the tires are new. Walked to get breakfast and while walking back my car was still sitting in same place untouched. I visited the Discount Tire located at 9650 Emmett F Lowry in Texas City will never return. I've had problems in the past but nothing compared to this visit. William, the sales person, flat out lied to my face "stating my brand new tires (I didn't purchase from Discount) were defective & refused to install them. Before that he jacked the installation price up to double the cost I was quoted when I made the appointment. my son had two flat tires in a row, over three days, and they patched both tires for him. You know, or should, that they do free tire repair, but you're going to get the super hard sale to try to get you to buy tires. My son ended up going ahead with the purchase. The first day he got two tires to match to the front of the vehicle and then on the third day when he got another flat, he bought the back tires because front tires had already been replaced. They offered him soda while he waited and I don't feel they tried to push him for pricier tires. He asked for cheap tires and that's ultimately what they gave him. One step up below the cheapest. He even got a lifetimes warranty on them, which he used on the third day when he got a flat, and they replaced the tire for free. The waiting time was a little long but he didn't make an appointment so that makes sense, since they were fitting him in. Overall it was very good service and he got four new tires and no new flats. Be careful of the construction going on on 45 right now. Both of his flats were metal pieces of some sort from travelling on 45 where the construction is. I imagine he's not the only one to experience these types of flats. As far as wheelchair access they are wide open and everything is easy with the wheelchair. Their displays are set up with plenty of space to maneuver around them and their floor plan is wide open and easy to use a wheelchair in the sstore. read more

I had some tires installed on my truck and DT in League City were quick on the job. Very polite and great customer advice attitude. Easy breezy to book an appointment or talk to them in person about what you wanted. Shortly after the new tire install, two Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) went out it was not installed back into the tire from the first visit. The gentleman at the register quickly jumped into action , apologized and said they would take care of that ASAP. In no time at all they fixed the problem and addressed the other sensor. All this work led into them working on my truck past closing time. Emilio and Michael were extremely helpful and tried hard to get it all done! They did a great job and those guys deserve a raise! I'll definitely be back to this discount tire location because of consistent customer service but also how they react to situations by making them right. That's very important to me and every customer. I would of given them a 5 star rating if I didn't find out they technically did forget to install a TPMS. This location just gets better and better! I made an online appointment to have my tires replaced and TPMS sensors replaced and reprogrammed. I figured I would drop it off since these services always seem to take forever. I show up, am greeted at the door by a friendly Trevor with a handshake and a welcome; he quickly checks my car, confirms my appointment, price, and work to be done, and says it'll be 20 minutes. For 4 tires? YEP! And guess what? It took about 17. The team of folks working on my car made me feel like it was an Indy 500 pit stop. Great & Quick Service from these guys. I found and purchased the tires online (through their website) and had them sent to the store. Rene and crew had all 5 tires (Jeep with full size spare) mounted and balanced in under an hour. I had an 8:15 appointment (drop off) and they called before 9 AM saying that they were ready. My experience at this discount tire location has to be BELOW a 1. I had went in with my car trying to figure out why my steering wheel was shaking, they told me the problem were my front tires. They said they were "Unbalanced". I then told them to do the service to balance them to fix the shaking problem. They then went on to say that my "wheels" were the problem. I spent $1,500 on FOUR NEW tires. Before getting the offer on the tires they then told me they "DID NOT" have the right tires for my car. They still went on to putting the tires I purchased from them, that were the incorrect size for my car. They knew they didn't have tires for my car, yet put tires anyways. Ended up with a $1,500 bill for tires that WERE NOT meant for my car. After a year of driving with these tires, I was still having the same issue with the steering wheel shaking. During that one year of owning the incorrect type of tires, I have gone 20+ appointments to different locations from Texas city, to Friend woods discount tires. Only to have them to rebalance them over and over. Never fixed the main issue of my steering wheel shaking or my tires turning the opposite direction of the steering wheel. After getting tired of the same issue over and over year, I decided to go to a different car shop to see if they can do something different. They found out that all four tires that discount tire on 117 Gulf Fwy N,League city, put the wrong type of wheels on my car. So I spent 1,500 on tires that were NOT the right fit for my car. After going to the insurance company for a full investigation, they denied any part of their actions.
