I recently had at appointment at a different location, on Arapaho, that was awful. My family and I have been customers for over 20 years. Went in to get a valve stem repaired and refused service.... And all focus was on selling me new tires. Stating policy regarding thread. (Nothing to do with a valve stem). Manager Alex was not concerned with keeping a customer. I'm currently at Firestone and they're repairing the tire that I bought from Discount Tire for 21 bucks. I purchased my tires online over a week ago. I had an appointment this morning to have them installed. After waiting over half an hour I was told that they don't know what happened, but they no longer have my tires. I was given a choice of either getting similar tires or coming back when they could find tires at another location and have them couriered over. I said I want the tires I paid for. With barely an apology I was told I'll be called to come back when they had the tires. I left very angry. Three hours later they called and said I could come back to have my tires installed. After 45 minutes a technician came and asked me if I wanted my tires aligned. I said, I'm not happy with how today went so I will get it done somewhere else. I've been going to discount tire ever since They moved the metroplex, I usually to go to the One on northwest highway or Lemmon Avenue they are so quick and so nice and seem like they care. This location they act like they're on their last leg and could care less and move at a snails pace, so buyer beware. I will say the young man was kind enough to put the tire back where it came from which was very nice. I had an appointment I had to wait about 30 minutes they just don't seem to have the urgency that other discount tires do so just be prepared if you've been to other ones. Hello, my appointment was made on 07/09/2021 to replace all (4) tire sensors on my car, when I arrived I was greeted by one of the team advisory's and he took my keys and proceeded to check the mileage and tire life as they normally do before the tire sale pitch After waiting for them to get started on changing the sensors the sales guy tells me he is not going to shoot me a bunch a crap about the sensors but they did not have the one's that would work with my car and they had an order issue and as soon as gets them in said he would call me. I've got to say, I've patronized the Discount Tire in Garland for several years. Generally, I've found this location to have courteous employees and they normally do the work expected while meeting expectations for good service. I've found Discount's prices to be slightly higher than competitors, but a significant benefit of Discount to me is that they'll repair your flat for no charge if you're a customer. Or so I had come to believe. On my last two trips to Discount (a few months apart), I was less than thrilled. In both trips, I was told - regarding different tires - that a previous patch (applied at the dealership) was "not done correctly" and they could not patch the tire. Sounded like a policy designed to sell more tires to me, so I took the tire in question to the dealership where I bought the car, and they applied a patch no problem and it's been fine. Fast forward to my last visit, yesterday. I get the exact same story (that a previously applied patch wasn't done correctly) and they won't patch my tire. They then straight up told me there were two existing patches on the tire I needed work on, and one of them wasn't done to their standards. This was plausible to me since I knew I had one tire with two patches (but it would have been bad luck since only 1 of my 4 tires actually had two patches). I responded to their refusal to repair my flat with the same strategy I used the last time they gave me that line, and I took the tire in question to the dealer today. And I learned at the dealer that in fact there was only ONE patch on the tire that yesterday Discount Tire told me had two patches. That's a straight up lie, and I don't appreciate that kind of misrepresentation being used just to encourage me to buy a tire. I don't know if Discount Tire is officially encouraging employees to push more tire sales by lying to customers, or perhaps it's the by-product of some sales-based incentives employees work under - but that is my recent experience at my local Discount Tire. March 2020 I Went in to get a tire rotation. They claimed the Front tires were too low for them to be able to rotate. 2/32 per the tech. (The rear was 5/32) I get it and understand completely as its a safety restriction. These tires have a 60,000-mile warranty. Currently, I'm at around 25,000 miles. To perform the warranty I would have to pay more than 180.00 plus the costs of a new warranty for each tire. About 20 each tire. now I'm around 220-ish. Upon asking why the warranty didn't cover the cost of the tire the only response I have received was "yeah they shouldn't have sold you these tires. They're not that great and always wear out early..... at that point I said ok and left. I felt like something wasn't quite right. the next morning I went to Firestone at Garland and Easton for a second opinion. turns out all four of my tires grew overnight? When Steven at firestone told me this I didn't believe him. I always have taken my cars to Discount as the warranty has been really good for me in the past. Steven allowed me in the shop and put a gauge on each tire while I watched I was shocked to see that my front was 6/32 on the left and 5/32 on the right. the rears were at 7/32 each. How did Discount get it so wrong? I left feeling uneasy about the whole situation. Did Discount have a new person that didn't know what he was doing? Did Discount Have someone who was working off commission and just really needed to sell me tires? I paid firestone to rotate my tires even though I have a free rotation at Discount tire. In hindsight, I probably could have visited a different Discount tire and had a free rotation. It's August 19th, 2020. I'm still on the same set of tires from March that was supposed to be replaced. I picked out my tires and made an appointment. When I walked in at quarter to 4 for my 4 o'clock appointment I almost turned and walked out. The place (Inwood Road location) was insanely busy. I thought this is BS. I'll never get my tires today, but I waited in a long line for about 20 minutes. I thought I'd at least make another appointment and ask if there was a better time to come back. To my surprise I was literally driving away at 5 pm on my new tires! I was extremely impressed as I watched the employees working and dealing with customers. If I could give negative stars on this review, I definitely would. I went into this specific discount tire maybe a month ago because I had a problem with leaking air out of one of my tires. I wasn't sure really what was wrong with my tire, but I figured they would be able to fix it. WRONG! They had me wait well over an hour just to tell me that my tire was not repairable. When I asked the guy why...this is what he says, "Oh the existing patch on your tire was not done correctly, so we can't fix your tire" I asked again, why can't you fix that? Again, this idiot told me that the patch on my tire was not done well. What a stupid answer! He then told me I had to buy a new tire which would have cost me $115+...I said NOPE, I'm going to check with my tire warranty first. I got back to work that night and had my coworker look at it. To my surprise, there was a huge nail poking through my tire that these dumb fucks didn't want to fix. They had marked my tire with yellow indicating there was a nail there. So why didn't they just patch it up? I don't freakin know! You tell me?! I was damn willing to pay for them to do that. Needless to say, I'm never ever going back here, and definitely DO NOT recommend this place. I used to go to the Mesquite store, but the employee was trying to take advantage and try and tell me I needed new tires when I had just purchased them months before. So I tried going to the Garland location and the previous manager or person in charge was so helpful but this last visit was not what I was expecting. I purchased a warranty with my tires and I had a flat the gentlemen were so nice and helpful was able to get a patch and order a new tire because I paid for insurance. Well once my husband arrived in my car, he was told that he didn't need a tire (after we had already ordered the tire and fixed the flat). That he should wait it out because the patch should fix the problem. Why would I wait for the damage out, so you don't have to cover that tire once it's popped and no longer under the warranty? Very upset he was also told he needed to pay again for warranty for this new tire. I'm not sure if I will be returning, I will probably take my business to a local tire shop since I trusted Discount Tire but I no longer do. read more

I called to ask about buying a used tire or possibly having my tire repaired (it is brand new tire on a brand new vehicle) because it has a nail/screw in it. I explained everything to Brandon and he said they would check it out. When I got there he clearly explained my options (due to the location of the hole repair isn't possible, which I was already told but, a second opinion is always good) I asked about getting one vs two, replacing with different tires come winter (will be moving where it snows) and Brandon was great about listening to my concerns and telling me why I should or should not go with several different options. I'm grateful that he was frank about things and seemed to really be concerned about getting the results that were best FOR ME and not just making a sale. Would I recommend this location? Yes.
