Had a nail in my tire. I was told at this store that it was "at too much of an angle to plug". Also they said my tires are 15k tread life, how convenient since I'm at 14,480. They try selling me tires but I had them fill the low tire and left to get a 2nd opinion. I then went to Newton Nissan where I purchased the vehicle. They plugged the tire for free and assured me it is safe. They also said my tires have a 65k tread life warranty. 50,000 more miles!!! The kid at discount tire is a liar and a thief!!! I drive 30k miles a year and picked up at least a dozen nails over the years, I think discount tire has fixed 1 for free without coercing me to buy new tires. Hate to tell this but, after fifteen years, this store is now a No Go Zone for my business. Installed a set of tires on car three years ago. Had to replace one of those tires with road hazard last year. That tire has needed airing up on a regular weekly basis. Took car to this shop and told them the problem. Tech looked at tires and informed me that it could not be repaired due to wear. (Ironic that it was the newest tire and, as a fleet manager, I had already checked the life of the tire. Tech sends someone else out to look at the tire and he pops back in to tell us that he can see bubbles blowing out of the tire and it can't be patched. Guess what? I watched him check the wrong tire. I declined service and went home. I'll buy tires another day and from someone else. Meanwhile, that tire that was bubbling? It still reads the same pressure it did before I took it to Discount Tire, Hendersonville. If you can be honest then you sure can't be trusted with my cars. read more

Made an appointment online. Arrived a bit early and were greeted and seated quickly. Getting all 4 new tires mounted and balanced took less than an hour. I kept one tire for a home project and the disposal fee for that one was waived. They even installed my modded tire valves. Overall I am satisfied with Discount Tire's service. I paid they gave a precise time when truck would be done and said if I had errand to come back at 330 it's be done by 5. A real customer comparison (and lesson learned). After having been a long-time customer of Discount Tire, I ventured to Tire Discounters for new tires last winter. I made the change mainly due to their "free alignment with new tires". That trip was painless and is the only reason I give them two stars now. Fast forward to now . . . after having a flat tire, I went into Tire Discounters for repair. After waiting in a line 7 deep with one attendant working the front, I was told my car would be ready by noon. I waited until 2 and found my car still in the lot, untouched, when I arrived. The attendant working the front desk told me he would fix the tire and perform my rotate/balance himself, which he did; but, the next morning as I was trying to leave town to visit a relative on their deathbed, my tires were so shaky, I had no choice but to return to the store (they weren't answering their phone). The same one employee was working - dressed in shorts and a white undershirt - and informed me he was the ONLY one at the store and his ONLY tech wasn't due in until 9:00 (store opens at 8). He tried to call their 2nd local store to see if they could help (no answer at that store either). In tears of frustration, I left and decided to eat crow with Discount Tire and beg their help. Upon arrival at Discount Tire, I was met in front of the store by a professionally dressed young woman who got me checked in . . . I was almost immediately called to the counter by one of the professional FOUR gentlemen at the counter. After confessing my disloyalty, they explained it would be about a 2.5 hour wait but they would get me taken care of. I proceeded to ask them if it would harm my tires/car to drive as it was, as I needed to get to the hospital in east Tennessee. They immediately told me not to worry and they would get it taken care of. Not only did they bump be to first in line, they re-balanced my tires and had me back out the door in less than 30 minutes at no charge. The number of techs they had working in the back looked like a busy any colony. From a customer perspective, a COMPLETELY different experience that has taught me a good lesson! I write the comparison on BOTH company pages (albeit a 5 star review for Discount Tire) in praise for one company's leadership and in hopes the other might take something away from it. read more

Extremely rude staff . Very unprofessional and will try to upsell you on tires that are only a year and half old (that are 65,000 mile tires) instead of honoring free flat repair . We bought new tires for our daughter a year and half ago from discount tires to be used as a safety net . She notices a low front tire, instead of checking the air pressure or finding what's in the tire they tried to upsell new tires and even went as far as using scare tactics . THRILLED!! Isn't there a higher rating on here for guys like this? I say five stars X 2!! I haven't been this impressed with a local merchant in... well, never! I called initially to see if they are able to refill a tire with nitrogen, as my Lincoln MKX had been supplied with from the dealer. I was told no, but that Nitrogen is really overrated and a very expensive changeover and that if they did, some of that expense would have to trickle down to the customer. This is why none of the tire merchants in town, have made the switch. That said, I was told that they have been fixing tires for FREE for 52 years! Now I have a plug kit and have successfully plugged many of my own in the past. I had planned on plugging it myself and taking it there just for a nitrogen fill up. Anyway, I took the tire/wheel off and took it there to be checked out and fixed. I figured at the least, I'll pay to have it re-balanced (and whatever else their "free fix" would encompass). Again, once in person, was told that everything would be covered... breaking it down, checking the damage, remounting, plugging and balancing! FREE! I also have to say how impressed I was with their entire staff! Everyone was smiling and pleasant, and while I was waiting, I noticed that everyone was jogging! Anywhere outside the bays and/or bldg., their workers jogged to get the next vehicle in line, etc. Did I say, impressed? Yup, right up until the shop mgr. plopped down on the bench next to me to tell me that his tech had accidentally ruined my tire, making it non repairable! So he said, how bout we just GIVE you a new tire? The thing is though, we don't have your brand/size in stock, but I'll give you a new comparable tire for free. I said, yeah, thanks, but I HATE having a mis-matched set on my car. I'd just as soon order one in and wait. He checked and said yes we can have it tomorrow but it will be $132.00 +... So, the mgr. apologized and assured me that they would call me tomorrow when it was ready for pickup. So, a little perplexed, I left the rim there. All night I thought, man! Are they really gonna charge me for an almost new tire their tech ruined, just because I refused an off brand, and the match had to be ordered in? I'm convinced that many of the tire shops I've dealt with in the past would have done exactly that. So, the next day, after getting said phone call and arriving with credit card in trembling hands, I walked in expecting an uncomfortable confrontation. The rep asked for my phone # and proceeded to tap away... He asked me to sign the keypad and answer a few ?'s. I did so, and started to pull out my wallet. I was hoping he'd offer to at least split the cost of the tire with me. He handed me a receipt and said, have a nice day and come back and see us! I was blown away! I thanked him, shook his hand, told him that he was now my new preferred tire shop and that he'd get all my future business, (family members and friends included)! Furthermore, that I'd talk up his shop any chance I get as well as to write a glowing review on line, and here it is! To find a business these days that "walk the walk", treat you fairly and believe in HONESTY and INTEGRITY in everyday business gets my vote, as well as my business!! I've been buying tires at Discount Tire for over 10 years now and it's honestly the only place I will consider going for tires. The customer service is generally very good, but I've found the Hendersonville location is exceptional. Kendall, the manager, is extremely friendly, professional, and hardworking. He's literally running around this store, greeting customers, answering the phone, checking inventory, and working with the mechanics -- with a big smile on his face the whole time. He really goes above and beyond. I love that Discount Tire will match any competitor's price, but I've found that they're typically priced the lowest to begin with. I also highly recommend their warranty. It covers practically anything that could happen to your tire and could save you hundreds of dollars in the long run. Need tires? I went in there yesterday to get my a slow leak in my tire fixed. It turned out not to be a slow leak at all. Excellent customer service! I needed new tires and we had shopped around, including Sam's Club. The tires on my vehicle had been discontinued, but Sam's suggested another tire. Discount Tire informed us the weight rating on those tires was too low and I would have ruined the tires, causing who knows what kind of damage! Discount Tire was extremely helpful, we dropped my vehicle off and they were done in less than 30 minutes. We even noticed a set of trailer tires for almost $20 less each than what we had just bought at Wal-Mart about 2 weeks ago! Also, they offer FREE tire rotation and balancing for every vehicle we own and every friend and family member we know (i.e. EVERYONE). I'll be telling all my neighbors. Next time you need tires rotated/balanced, take them to Discount Tire, have it done for free, and see for yourself how nice they are. read more

Carried my car there at 10 o'clock am and 12:30 p.m. it's still setting in the same place. This has taken almost a half day to do the free rotation that they give when you purchase the tires. Not sure if it's worth it. They were several other customers who was upset that it was taking them so long to do whatever they was doing to there vehicle also. Really rude. William Z Taylor was extremely unprofessional. This sales rep laughed at me when I asked if they could give me a specific reason as to why the $680 set of tires was better than the $330 set with the same specs. I asked for specific examples of how they were better made and why I should pay a premium and they couldn't provide any despite them having the same all-weather and mileage rating. When asked these questions he just kept parroting the line "They're safer, I just want you to have the safest ride possible". I've bought 3 sets of tires in the past at this location and have never been treated so rudely. The salesman literally laughed in my face multiple times throughout this process and looked over at his buddy/coworker for approval of his behavior giving him the "can you believe this guy" look. I will never go back to discount tire. I understand they don't work on commission, but they still work on incentive to up-sell. A previous employee at this location, who I knew well, Christian, explained these tactics to me. Again, the individual who treated me with such disrespect was "Salesperson 9 WILLIAM Z TAYLOR" according to my invoice. I could go on about the behavior, there was more, but I've said enough to get my point across. I'm a paying customer and I expect to be treated with respect, not laughed at for asking very pertinent questions. I arrived at 3:55, and as usual was greeted by their friendly staff. I was done and back on the road @ 4:30. Don't shop here my tire blew out after the stood around it for 10 minutes they put it on brand new rim and tire. I was 10 minutes down the road and almost lost my life if it would of took 10 minutes longer my wife and 11 month child would of been in the truck when it blew on the highway. I've talked to managers and corporate all they can say is we back the tire still want me to pay full price no compensation for loss of work or trauma so pretty much they don't back there customers and the fact the techs and manager had an issue with the tire and didn't care to fix it and let me leave on an unsafe tire and rim and say I need to take it up with the manufacture cause you know they back there tires right. I pulled into discount tires and didn't have to get out of my car, was instructed to pull up to the first bay and an employee took care of my tires while explaining to me why I was getting the fault tire error.
