When you go to buy a car (used or new), you usually anticipate a somewhat unpleasant experience: Spending most of your day haggling over price, endless trips by the sales person to his manager while you wait, only to leave with a car that you then feel you could have gotten cheaper, and worried about getting a lemon. So after my insurance company determined my car was a total loss after an accident, I needed a car quickly, and my aunt and uncle recommended Todd's Car Team. Working with Todd was the opposite of what I had experienced and was expecting from a used car dealer. After reading about his story and looking through the inventory listed on his website, I emailed Todd to arrange a time to look at one of the cars (he works by appointment only). He'd just gotten it in, so it wasn't quite ready, but he said he'd expedite the service and detailing so that it would be ready by the time I planned on meeting him. I ended up changing my mind and asking to see a different car, a 2016 Honda Civic LX, and so he expedited the service and detailing of that one so it would be ready, too. He was always responsive, returning my emails in a reasonable time, and answering any questions I had. During my appointment, Todd showed us around his facility, showed us the car, which I took for test drive, then we sat down and went over the history of the car. He uses Carfax, an extensive checklist of the car's condition, and even had some of the service receipts that were left in the car. Most of his inventory is made up of formerly leased cars, which are typically well maintained. But he goes an extra step, extensively services and details them, allowing them to be certified by a program he has to qualify to use. He had replaced the tires with new ones, among other things. He points out all flaws, and there were 2 minor items he hadn't had time to fix yet, so he offered me the option of a small discount or to schedule time to fix it at my convenience. He's knowledgeable about the technology about his cars, showing me how things worked on it and setting up my phone through bluetooth. Since Todd's business model is no haggle pricing, it only took a little while longer to seal the deal, sign the paperwork, and drive off in my new car. We discovered Todd's team after visiting four large dealerships in the greater Nashville area, and the difference in the experience at Todd's couldn't have been greater or better. I am still amazed and impressed at the level of work done and information on the car he provided in the pre-sales review. As an example to illustrate: We had reviewed what we thought was a promising lead at another dealership based upon Trim Package, Mileage, Price, and the photos the dealership had posted online, and everything looked OK -- from a distance. When we reviewed the minivan in person, we discovered major scratches on both rear sliding doors that were easily visible from 5-6 feet away but hadn't showed up in the dealership's posted pictures, as well as a pretty well-used/trashed interior, and a probable issue with the brakes or master cylinder. We then found a new prospect at Todd's team using the same criteria, but in addition to the standard interior/exterior pictures we'd come to expect, Todd had also taken close-up pictures pointing to all three exterior dings and scratches, and when I inspected the car in person, he pointed every one of them out to me despite the fact that all three were so minor I almost certainly wouldn't have even noticed them doing an independent walk-around. Not only was Todd's car 1 model year newer than the other one, but was in immaculate condition (both interior and exterior) and only a couple thousand more in price without needing the extra out of pocket repair costs the first vehicle would have entailed. Every part of the buying process followed the same level of detailed information; detail on his car buying criteria, the inspection reports of things his team had found and corrected and why, the things that a 3rd party inspection and found and he'd fixed and why, etc. Everything in the process was up front and he'd answer any question we asked as well as many that we didn't think of. I had started my car shopping experience fully expecting that whatever I got from any dealer would have to be taken to a mechanic to fully discover all the mechanical issues I had over looked when crawling under the car and poking around under the hood. Instead, we drove away in our new (to us) minivan from Todd's feeling like we bought a good car from an honest man who'd told us everything the vehicle was and hadn't tried to hide or sugar coat anything. A good friend referred me to Todd's Car Company, saying that she and her family always purchase their cars from Todd. I had several requirements both in a vehicle and in the car buying process. He made accommodations for these needs. You will find him enthusiastic about matching people to their vehicle, and he seems to love running the dealership. Todd is easy to contact and his response time is quick. He's busy, but flexible, and was happy to clear enough time for me and my special needs throughout the process. He will remember who you are and won't need reminding where y'all are at in the process. Not only is he efficient, he always had my paperwork ready before my appointment, so all I had to do was sign. He called me immediately when my tags came in. He did what he said he would do by reminding me in an email to get my county sticker changed. His inventory: Todd is ultra thorough in only buying cars in excellent condition. From there he puts in hours on finishing touches or scheduled maintenance (even if it's ahead of the due date). I have bought many a car over the years, and this purchase with Todd was by far the best experience of all. I was taking my time looking for just the car I wanted. Often when I did a search, "Todd's Car Team" would show up with a great looking car at a great price. I ignored them as I had never used a car "broker" before and was leery of going this route. Then, I looked him up on multiple review sites, and everywhere I looked gave glowing reviews. So I figured, couldn't hurt to set up an appointment and look at the car. I'm glad I did. He gives you, and the car, his undivided attention for as long as you want/need. He answers every question you have about the car in detail and can walk you through any function or feature. This is such a better way to buy a car. I have bought used cars throughout my lifetime and Todd has refined and perfected the process. Todd's Car Team is the real deal! I will be honest I was skeptical at first because it is an unconventional way to buy a car but I would buy from Todd again and again! We found the car we wanted in an internet search and Todd was very accommodating as we asked as many questions as possible. Honestly, I never write reviews despite reading reviews constantly. My experience with Todd's Car Team was so exceptional that I felt compelled to write this review. I needed an issue with my air conditioning diagnosed on my 2007 Honda Accord as soon as possible due to selling my vehicle. Not only was my car serviced the same day, but the customer service was beyond incredible. Tyler was very responsive, knowledgable, and helpful in answering all of my questions (and I had quite a few). I had told Tyler I would be selling my vehicle soon, and he offered to complete a full inspection to provide the information to the buyer. He did just that, and I felt confident and comfortable selling my vehicle knowing any minor issues had been addressed. Got my Civic from Todd and both the buying experience and the car itself have been great. My favorite part about buying was the contrast from what I'd experienced visiting other used car lots. There, I'd generally have my interest piqued from one or two photos online, visit the lot and notice dings/dents, get told "oh it's a used car, can't expect it to be perfect", I'd rethink the purchase, rinse and repeat a few times. Led to a lot of wasted visits. Todd & co. post copious amounts of photos on the website, and they feature known imperfections and write about them in detail. So just from that, I could tell that it was a different sort of process. You have a much better idea of what you're actually going to see prior to visiting his lot, which is exactly as intended since it's by appointment only. This is the second time I relied on Todd to find me a quality used car. My first purchase in 2006 was a VW Golf TDI. Todd found exactly what I wanted, a blue VW diesel with low mileage. In December, I reached out to Todd again to find a used Audi A3 Sportback e-tron. Todd researched what was available and found a car in California that matched all my criteria.
