"Are you really honoring tire warranties as you claim...or are you just selling tires?" While I've generally had good experiences with this branch of Discount Tire, I recently came in for service, and left feeling a bit hustled. After a prior visit to replace air for a slow leak, I was following up to fix the nail what was found in the same leaking tire. Following a check and consult from a rep ('Morgan') and review, I was heavily pushed into the purchase of new tires for my vehicle. This was after the purchase of two tires from this same DT branch just a little over two years ago supposedly with 60,000 miles of coverage. One of the most uncomfortable parts, honestly...was Morgan's push for the sale, and not really listening my concern, nor looking back at the history of my business. If tires had been purchased within the warranty period, along with certificates for refund or replacement, then why are you trying to sell me tires again? Did you take time to listen...or to look into my account? Or are am I just someone else walking through the door? And by the way, all the 'yelling' across the indoor area and vehicle bay in front of customers...really, guys? Sure get the work done, but we know it's for show (womp-womp!) I'll see when/if Discount Tire words to rectify this issue, and if a resolution or clarification can be reached. No problem with giving a solid business the opportunity to correct. I was greeted by Clifford under red tent took general information, had me park on the side. Wow super fast Paul took in my request he also noticed wipers worn advised me to replace. I came in at 2:30 (charged for services at 2:50) and was told it would be 45min to 1hr and there were 5 cars in front of me. It is now 4:58 and the car has not moved and I have not been updated. Tried to balance my tires twice and failed miserably. Took their tires to my mechanic, who I should have bought the tires from originally, and he balanced them in no time. I honestly don't trust them to even tighten lug nuts. They will also tell you they have a spot open for your tire rotation immediately, but they are just trained to say that. They will take 1-2 hours to get you in a spot for rotation. Also watched them throw hub caps and wheels around the shop which does scratch them. Was in dire need of new tires and I decided to place an order to speed things up. Decided to stop at the Discount Tore closest to my neighborhood in the Heights on TC Jester and 18th street Near Restaurant Depot. As soon as I walked in Steven greeted me with the warmest smile. The made me smile and I even stumbled on what vehicle I was dropping off in our convo. We talked and he checked me in and right away he was getting things done. Now of course me "just being a girl" I ordered the wrong size tires and Steven made sure that I knew what my size was and that he would take care of the mistake I made. The associates at this location are working hard, the traffic at this location seems to be very busy. I applaud everyone there as well as a special shoutout to Steven. I've been to several Discount Tires around Houston from Spring to Katy area. When I didn't have my correct tire in the Energy Corridor area, they were able to order it for me and booked me an appointment with this location. I had asked for the closest Discount Tire to where I live. What's even more convenient is that it's only 8 minutes from my work, so I can stop by for an appointment or air check and go back to work. I frequently pass by this location for midday work lunches. This location sits on the corner at the edge of a double, 4-way stop which is not the best. Today, there was a tow truck in the middle of the intersection towing a car and was blocking a lane plus my left turn lane to get to their lot. It was a little dangerous, but luckily people actually followed the stop sign right-of-way rules. I feel like they didn't add enough space to this location when the Restaurant Depot behind it has so much parking. The good part is that they make signs that lead you into a larger air check parking area. I booked an appointment online the day before, so I parked and checked in inside. The guy outside in the tented area was busy, and I could've checked in there, but I didn't want to wait long since I was on my lunch break. Paul was really nice and checked me in. We walked to the lot where he inspected the tire. It looked ok from the outside, but he said they'll inspect the tire more closely since it was reading significantly lower when he checked the air pressure. The last time I was here, my Toyota car and phone app told me my pressure was low. Turns out, there was a nail on the side, so it had to be replaced. My warranty covered it. Since I had this other vehicle, I noticed the back passenger tire had 2-5 psi lower than the other three. Makes me worried in these Houston streets/freeway. I do not want a blowout or something. I thought there was an air leak. I was right. Hazel explained to me that she found a small needle in the tire causing a gradual leak. She patched it up and had the car ready for me with my seat setting set up. Thanks, Hazel! Altogether with check in, walking to the lot for a surface tire inspection and being up at the bay for a closer look and repair, it took about 45 minutes. I find the Journey tracker they text you is helpful to know where they are in the process . The timing was fairly accurate, and I got out a few minutes earlier than expected. There's a couple seats and bottled water in a small fridge while you wait. I'm just glad I didn't have to purchase a new tire for a new vehicle and that patching the tire was free. This was my first time visiting the Discount Tire on TC Jester, and I'm seriously impressed. I ended up with two flat tires on my passenger side--bad luck, but being in a safe spot made AAA less urgent... which turned into a headache trying to get timely help. I eventually left my car overnight and had it towed here the next morning. I originally bought my tires at another Discount Tire location so they honored the warranty and replaced them--huge win. Only downside? They only had one of the tires in stock, so they held onto my spare until the second one came in. Not ideal, but I appreciate the transparency and how they kept things moving. This location was slammed--two outdoor check-in stations, a tire fill-up station out back, and a non-stop flow of customers. Still, the team was on it. They were working their butts off and somehow still delivering great service. It was organized chaos, and it worked. If you're in the area and need tire help, I highly recommend this spot. it's the typical scenario...the dashboard lights up and scares me half to death by reporting "low pressure". I was only 2 miles from home, the barometer had dropped and I figured PSI dropped as well, signaling my dashboard to light up like a Christmas tree. Got home, got out my trusty pump and put air in. Then I heard the hissing. damn! Tire leaking fast! And 40 minutes til closing time at Discount Tire. I called and begged them to let me come right away. They obliged. Pick another location. Justin walks around ass busting instead of helping the team. I came in with a flat tire on a set of Discount Tires that are all under warranty. I even made an appointment, yet still waited far longer than expected. Instead of addressing the flat tire, the staff spent about 20 minutes trying to sell me new tires, even though my current tires were still in good condition. Eventually they determined the tire couldn't be repaired and would need to be replaced. Fine. However, instead of replacing it with the same tire I originally purchased, they tried to substitute a lower-grade tire. I declined. At that point they had to order the correct one. I decided to order two tires and was told they would arrive the same day. They did not. A day later, one tire arrived. No one called to notify me; I had to call them. Communication throughout this process was extremely poor. The weekend passed with still no update on the second tire. Finally, Monday afternoon I called again and was told the tire had arrived. I asked for an immediate appointment and arrived within 15 minutes. To make matters worse, during the installation they lost one of my lug nut and wheel locks and acted as if it wasn't a big deal. I have experienced great customer service at this location. Of course, if you come during peak times, the line can be long. But they have a waiting room and cold water bottles. There are also restaurants nearby to wait at. Recently, they had to keep our car longer than anticipated because of an online glitch, and they got us a complimentary uber ride back to work! They also price matched for me when I showed them how much Costco was willing to sell me tires for! Got a nail in my tire due to unending construction in the Heights. Brought my car here today and I walked away 1.5 hours later in a happy, yet confused daze. I felt like I had been transported back in time by decades, because every single person I dealt with was both friendly and helpful. They also sounded like they were having fun and making the best of a busy work situation with each other, which is nice to see. I kept waiting for a tip jar to appear on a counter or under some dude's arm, or a line item for a tip when I paid partially by credit card, but no, unlike my usual tire place, they were knowledgeable and friendly and reminded me of my years of customer service, years ago and didn't ask for a tip. If you're here for an aircheck be ready to wait a while.... this Discount Tire is always busy no matter what time of day I come by (and I've tried several times recently because I needed some air but the wait was too long to stay). The entrance to the aircheck line is right after a 4 way intersection. If the line is out to the road I learned it's not worth the wait. I appreciate the service of dropping off your tire, but it's so unprofessional and disorganized that I wouldn't recommend doing so. I dropped off my car and they "lost" caps for my rims. Then I was told for a span of 2 days that they were going to find them then by the third day I was told that they ordered them, and I can pick them up. Not only did they not replace with the ones I purchased but they gave me some random ones that I was not happy with. I called customer service because by the 3rd day I was becoming frustrated, and I didn't live in the area. They said they would call me back and never did. And for that reason, I will never shop with them again. It's a huge red flag when a company has no one willing to resolve a situation. I had paid the day prior due to having ordered a tire so they weren't able to erroneously charge me the day of. The sales people are good at pressure sales so be aware. They will tell you something bogus like "dry rot" after inspecting your tires. Come ready to deny the upsale no matter how hard they try. I wouldn't go as far as saying the sales guy was dishonest. Teddy was so very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, able to answer all my questions and connected me with Travis who saw my work order thru from start to finish, even checking on the status and keeping me informed the entire time (which wasn't long at all). Made an appointment they called and said I could come in an hour early and sat there until appointment time then I had another car that my wife brought over to get it done and guy came to help me then got sidetracked and sat my keys down to help someone that came in after me with no appointment. Grabbed my keys off the counter and walked out and no one noticed. Plus they weren't even that busy. Went to another tire store by HEB and was in and out in 20 minutes. I was really not happy yesterday. I took my car to get a flat fixed. Asked them to check and rotate my tires and assure no other nails etc. They finished within an hour and said it was done. Come to find out there was still nails in tires. So I was not pleased having to drive back and wait again. However once I arrived personnel made such a smooth service with great attitude that definitely helped my mood. They understood the problem, took responsibility and found solution. Surprised this location doesn't have a 5/5 star rating! They're packed every day for a reason. Travis was amazing helping me get my new wheels/tires at a reasonable price. He also helped direct me to NLine Auto to get one of the studs replaced. Sebastian was amazing that same day getting my tire pressure sensors rewired and my new wipers installed - only took about 10 minutes with a full waiting room. These guys obviously care a lot about the quality of their service - you'll hear a "hello welcome in!" from everyone anytime you walk in. Super professional and welcoming. Updating my review: Let's call this DMV Tire instead, actually takes longer than the actual DMV... We called and were told they had the two tires we needed and dropped the car off on Friday 0930. We were told it would take a few hours for pick up. We also got an email confirming correct tires. Store closes at 6pm. We arrived at 530pm and saw our car parked in the Restaurant Depot without the new tires. We asked the manager and workers when it would be ready: we were told another 15 minutes. Wrong. We kept on seeing other cars pulled. They also lock the doors at 6pm. Mind you, we already paid $500 plus for everything. We didn't get our car until 635pm on Friday. Poor communication and delayed service, buyer beware. There were a lot of angry folks waiting for their cars yesterday. Please go elsewhere for tire needs. Not recommended. read more

Then when he gets done with that whole sales pitch, he tells me it will take until 11 am to get a tire patched on a 2015 Audi, I scheduled my whole day around this and I have a meeting at 1130 and he just didn't care of try to make any effort to get it done faster. I would have gone to Monterrey and paid for a patch to get it done quicker but my tire is so flat and stuck there and now I have to spend money on a Lyft pick up the car tomorrow because I have meetings the rest of the day. took my car into DT as scheduled on 9/2 for repair of slow puncture to rear/right tire. Associate performed inspection and informed me the cause was a slice in the tire looked to be caused by a blade, then tried to sell me a new set of rear tires as the cut could not be repaired. I declined, drove home, removed and inspected the tire to observe a nail in the center of the tread, NO Slice. Took the car back on 9/4 for a repair. The upselling techniques of the associates are relentless. Anyhow, repair was performed; they damaged the wheel /rim leaving a large permanent scratch to the paint. The job was rushed, they jump in/out the car with dirty gloves and coveralls leaving dirt everywhere. I love this free service which is why I continue to come back for tires also. The service is typically a bit long but that's because so many folks decide to come here.
