I have been buying tires here for years. This has nothing to do with pricing. It has to do with outright LYING. I understand they sometimes get behind, but that's different from LYING. Yesterday, I arrived at 2:04 PM to have a flat fixed. I was told it would take less than an hour. I was then informed the tire could not be fixed, so I bought four new tires and was assured it would still take less than an hour. The text they sent me said it would be done by 3:06. At 3:10, I made an inquiry and he promised it would be done in forty-five minutes. I had already told them (at 2:04) if it would take longer than an hour, I would have my wife pick me up. He assured me one hour or less. I finally got my car just before five o'clock. As I was leaving, a manager apologized to me and admitted he heard the employee tell me forty-five minutes when he knew it would be two hours. This was not a misunderstanding - it was outright LYING to a loyal customer. COSTCO from now on. read more

This discount tire has the absolute worst customer service of any discount tire I have ever been to. My business owns a fleet of 11 trucks and trailers, and La Mesa discount tire will get no future business from me. My tire is low and I need air before I get on the freeway. I bought my tires at discount tire and stopped here to get them to fill the low tire. I waited at the spot designated to get air for 20 minutes. Multiple Discount tire employees just walked right past me holding their head down. No one here would speak to me much less help me. I had three other cars in line waiting for air behind me. After 20 minutes I drove away. I'll head to Santee where they are much more customer service friendly. read more

I had a flat tire about a week ago while at a friends house. Discount tires was the closest location I could think of to get the tire fixed. It was late at night so I was able to get enough air in there to get me to that location. I got a ride home and returned in the morning to do the paperwork and get the repairs started. When the associate finally got to me and checked out the tire he told me that they were not able to repair the tire because the hole was too close to the edge of the tire. I showed him that the hole was actually right in the center of the tire and there should be no problem patching it. He again repeated there was nothing they could do about it. He suggested I purchase another tire for $109. My first thought was to have the car towed to somewhere else who could patch and repair it for me but I decided to purchase the tire and just let it go. After the tire replacement was complete I asked them to put the old tire in the back of my car and I took it to another discount tires in imperial Beach. They told me there that it would be no problem patching that tire. It just needed to be on a rim. I feel I was totally taken advantage of because I could not move my car to a different location and the agent at that discount tires in La Mesa just wanted to sell me a new tire because it was much more profitable than patching my existing tire. I am very disappointed with this discount tire location and I will never return there again and I would advise others not to shop there either. read more

I had to give my son a ride to Discount Tire as he had a bent rim and needed a new rim and tire for his Scion. He had called the Santee location but they were too busy to help us on a Saturday afternoon. However the La Mesa location said they could help us. They helped us right away, took the old rim and tire out of my car to get something from it( I forgot what it's called) and we waited maybe 15 minutes until the new tire and rim and the old were rolled out and into my car. They also referred my son to someone who could possibly unbend the old rim som he could use it as his spare. Very friendly, helpful service and quick, which was very unexpected for a Saturday afternoon. read more

Overall I was only disappointed that my tire wasn't under warranty anymore because of the tread. But I needed up replacing my two back tires because they were pretty worn. Came out to a pretty penny but because of the warranty I was able to get a little discount. It'd be nice if they offered some type of deal and or coupon for tires like pep boys or Evans tires does. I will say the only had me waiting for like 30min which was the best part because I've waited 2+ hours for tires. Made an appointment over the phone, came in, they inspected my tires and I felt were very genuine and honest with my options. I could have just got 3 and I opted to just buy a new set and they actually gave me a credit for the tire I didn't need. They send a link to your phone to keep track of when your vehicle is done; It was done in 45 minutes. Everywhere else said to just drop it off and it could take 4-5 hours. I brought my Lexus L350 to the La Mesa branch for replacement of the factory tires.They looked at the old tires and and gave a reasonable quote to replace them which I accepted. I brought the car in and left them to do their work. They called later with a problem, they had destroyed the wheel lock key and lug with a impact wrench. They told me it would have to be drilled and they didn't do drilling. I immediately pointed out the damage to the rim they had done, upon further inspection I pointed out they had done similar damage to two of the rims (photos were taken). After taking the car to Lexus and spending over $200 to remove the studs, I brought the car back to Discount and was told to handle the complaint with the manager the next day. I went back the next day and the manager claimed they never use impact tools on locking lugs, directly contradicting what the technician told me. He also said the technician should have told us of a service they use to drill them out instead of going to Lexus. Bottom line, they were unwilling to cover any of the damage they caused and directly contradicted the information the tech had given us the day before. Further, they told us if we want it resolved to take it up with the claims dept They claims department has been totally non-responsive. After taking all of our vehicles to Discount over many years, we will never use Discount Tire again. read more

I've only used a Discount Tire a couple of other times and had very average service. This location was exceptional when I went recently. The customer service was very good. I was pretty sure I was doing the right thing to get the absolute best deal, and when I called to double check on a certain tire, they gave me a tip that ended up saving me a few hundred dollars. They weren't in it to make money, rather to give me the easiest experience possible. I don't think I can recommend this place for tire service. For some reason this place is extremely busy and while we had an appointment, we still waited over an hour to get help. Overall the total service took 2 to 3 hours despite what it should have been, 15 minutes. The primary issue was that we were a few minutes late. The disappointing part was that the person in the front checking us in lied and said we were much later than we were (20 minutes late), and even after speaking to the manager, they have nothing to say about the discrepancy in time and just said that they would help us as soon as they can, but we turned into a non appointment line clearly. I had to check in several times just to make sure we were on a list for tire repair. I had bigger expectations for a place like this it has been around for quite long. I've been taking my car here for air checks and new tires for the last ten years. I've never been disappointed with the level of service and the quality of the tires. Recently, I had a punctured tire and arrived in the last half hour they were open. Thinking I would have to leave my car overnight and get the car in the morning, I started to take items out of my car. These guys know what customer service really is. My tire pressure light came on and I immediately went to the Santee location, waited a good while for an air check while I could hear the techs singing in the bay. No issue with this, workplace fun is fine, I get it. Got the air check performed by a younger blonde guy with longer hair. He let me know my rear tire had a nail in it, to pull around park and give the guys in the front the paper he gave me with the details on my tires. Another young long haired guy at the front (wish I had gotten names) came out, looked at my tire and said it should be ok to keep driving. As long as it didn't go under 20psi. He let me know that they could not fit me in today, it was 5pm they close at 6 and he told me to make an appointment. Left discount in Santee feeling a little nervous about driving with this tire but his exact words were "it's not going to blow up or anything" Called the La Mesa location and they let me know even with their current wait they would take care of me. These guys are the best - c'mon I mean they repair flats for free and do free rotations! Why bother with anyone else. They are always friendly and efficient. I have literally nothing but good things to say about them and will keep coming here as long as I can. It is handy that I work across the street but I think I would always seek out a Discount Tire over competitors because their customer service is so on point. They aren't gimmicky, nor do they really try to upsell. They're honest and hard working and give you real answers about what is best for your car. Go here, these guys are great. What fantastic service today. I've been getting tires from Discount Tires for over two decades. I recently bought a used car for my son and one of the tires was losing air. I called an explained what was going on and they scheduled an appointment for me to bring the car in. We brought the car in and they removed the wheel, put it a tank of water to check for the leak. There was nothing apparent from that, they then removed the tire from the rim and did a visual inspection of the inside of the tire and didn't see anything. They put a new valve on it and we were on our way at no charge. They were very professional and provided a great service. That's why I have continued to bring my business to Discount Tire. read more

I live walking distance from this tire shop, this morning I noticed I had a flat tire on my truck, so I thought how convenient to have a tire shop so close to me, we'll it was useless. They said they couldn't patch my tire because "the rims are too wide" I didn't understand why they couldn't do it, so I told the guy, can you at least put some air in it so I can drive to another shop? Negative, they told me they can't do that either. To make the story short they try to sell me a new rim and a used tire. So I had to fix the problem myself with tire repair kit. Waiting for an air check. The clerk assigned has had a 20 minute convo with a person in the air check space. Then proceeded to the other car. I pulled in. Still sitting here. The assigned clerk has now gone inside with a gentleman (not here for air check). And here I sit. I'm so glad this service was touted when I spent $1000.00 on tires. Oh.....and here is that story. I came in at opening, selected tires, paid cash. Was told it would be done within 3 hours. Come back three and a half hours later...my car is still in its parking spot. No new tires. I go inside and tell them that I won't be waiting any longer and to refund my transaction. At this time I was glad I paid cash because they wouldn't have an out to try to not refund my money. The clerk was a little panicked and asked if he could have it done in 15 minutes would I reconsider. I said no, not on an "if". Then he said they WOULD have it done within 15 minutes. Ok, fine. Walked across the street to kill time. Came back, car was coming down off the lift. Now, keep in mind, I'm writing this on my phone as I sit here and wait. The amount of writing and detail should lend to the length of time. Ho hum......still waiting. Came here to see if I could get my tire repaired but unfortunately, it had side wall damage. Brad got me up to speed with options and pricing, and I was on my way in no time! Definitely recommend this place! Everyone is very nice but also very professional. They have a clean lobby and a work area too (Brad took me over to my tire to show me the side wall damage, and I didn't have to worry about tripping over tools or anything on the ground). This is just an extra plus (cause I love country), but they play country music too! If you're having any tire problems, bring your vehicle here and you will not be disappointed. normally good service at Grossmont location, but today not so much. I was in waiting room with my earplugs listening to music and working on my computer. They did text me, but I didn't hear it or see it and they didn't tell me when I checked in that that's how they were going to contact me. I told them I would be working on my computer and just wait there. There were only four other people in the waiting room so I feel like maybe they could've noticed I was still there and yelled my name or come and told me the car was done. I sat there for an extra 30 minutes. I was not told or did I know that they would text me when the car was done since I was sitting in waiting room . I have not had my wipers changed in over a year maybe longer so I told them to check them and change them if needed. i was expecting to pay for the wipers, but when I asked about it he said he could go check with the shop. Since it was after 12 and I had been there since 10:45 with an appointment to rotate my tires for the first 6,000 miles, I opted to leave. I will now have to go to dealership or back to discount another day or just wait until it rains and they don't work again , this is my first negative experience and maybe it is true that old women are invisible read more

Woo hoo discount tire always comes through with the best service and prices. I only strayed once to the dealer only because they matched discounts price however the dealer has never been able to match the service I have received from discount tire since. Take today, for example. My fairly new high performance tires with only 10,000 miles on them from the dealer had a slow leak in my rear tire. These are run flat tires. The dealer said I needed a whole new tire for the prorated price of $350. I called discount and they said the tire could probably be repaired depending upon where the puncture was. I made an appointment online for two hours later , showed up and in less than one hour they repaired the tire for free! And balanced it. Wow! Officially a lifetime discount tire fan!! read more
