4.1.25 It was time to get my tires balanced and rotated. (Did it every 5000 miles) I learned very quickly to make an appointment to get this done. Otherwise you will be there for 1-3 hours waiting. My appt. was for 1pm and they were not really that busy at 12:50pm - I was shocked. They said I would be done by 1:30pm. So I was going to go through my email and delete 99% of it BUT, at 1:10pm they said my car was ready!!!! Way to go!!!! Talk about great service! I did notice one thing... They usually have free small bottled waters while you wait. But they did not have any in the refrigerator. I don't know if they no longer are offering them or they were just out. Why 5 stars? Because Discount Tire is pretty much the gold standard of tire shops. --- --- --- When I was a kid, Discount Tire was really reaching prominence. It was THE place everyone went for tires. The only negative about it is that you were basically guaranteed a long wait because of their popularity. After college, I moved out of state and couldn't believe there were no Discount Tires where I lived. How did people.... get... tires? No option was as good as Discount Tire. Fast forward to present day and I live in Texas again. My wife and I both needed new tires, and while I ended up getting a better deal at Tirelink for my own car, I came here for my wife's car and it was a pretty easy experience. They gave me a good deal with a great warranty, and let me call to check myself in while I was on the way to the shop. When I arrived, someone from the shop came out within 30 seconds asking me for my keys so he could pull it into the bay. I said the same thing on my review of Tirelink, but the difference between the two shops is negligible, in my opinion. I'd call both and just see who can offer you the better deal. The guy at Discount Tire did tell me they would have matched any price, but I'd already taken my own car to Tirelink at that time. Discount Tire reminds me of Shipley's Donuts. Two insanely popular businesses in Houston that other businesses now try to copy. This is great for consumers because the competition only makes things even better for consumers. read more

Unfortunately, I hadn't purchased the certificates last time, and we ended up with a screw in the sidewall of a new tire--it was leaking and couldn't be repaired. The young guys are always gentlemen. Either they have great parents or managers--or possibly both. I have yet to go to any of the locations and the guys have not been nice, professional and respectful. I have been to Discount Tires in Temple, Austin, Bryan College Station, Tomball and Magnolia. If an employee recommends you to do an alignment at sun auto (formerly caliber) or a shop up the street, do not use that auto shop for the alignment. I took their recommendation and got the alignment done at the recommended shop and left feeling like the shop did not do the alignment properly. A couple months later Discount tire confirmed my suspicions by telling me the alignment needs to be done because my tires are balding due to my alignment being off and causing unnecessary damage to my vehicle. So I was ultimately left to buy new tires, once again. Other than that, this location usually has good customer service. read more

Took my truck here because that's where I have always bought my tires (until now ). They tried to take me for $180 because my "lug nuts were swollen". Then they said they could do it for $100 so I was getting a deal. I was surprised by this because I spent $2400 on tires there and would have kept going back. They even had a display to show people . This is snake oil, don't buy it. (I hope their marketing department reads that - makes a great slogan) Been a customer since I was in college (I.e.,the dark ages) Tires failed inspection but they had me in and out in 30 minutes. No BS here and always feel comfortable with the process and I have control over the decision making. Everyone is super friendly in a genuine "I like my job, and I like people" kind of way. New tires and out the door in 30 minutes with a military discount. The Discount Tire employees were courteous and respectful towards me and treated me like they valued my business. I was a loyal NTB customer for over 20 years and finally got fed up with too many tire rotation appointments that took five hours to complete, and too many NTB employees aggressively trying to sell maintenance services to me that my car didn't need. I regret not bringing my business to Discount Tire sooner. What a change! read more

I've been here 2 times since it opened. Fastest discount tire I've been to. The customer service is impeccable. I recommend to everyone I know in the area. Jay is the man! I worked with him the first time and he is the main reason I choose to come back. I worked with another gentleman today with an amazing mustache but just couldn't remember his name. He was also amazing. They really do make you feel comfortable here. Very clean in and out.
