He stepped in and fixed a major mistake after another associate ordered and installed the wrong wheels on my car, insisting they were the only option available and that I wouldn't notice a difference..which I absolutely did. (They were a completely different color.) Jacob was incredibly understanding and patient while listening to my concerns. He was honest, personable, and took my situation seriously. Most importantly, he made it right. Because of him, I left feeling heard and taken care of. If I return to this location, I would only feel comfortable working with Jacob & would recommend him to others. I've seen other customers come & go I asked earlier they had the wrong information, which they never asked for mine. They had the previous owners info. I also asked for an alignment. Typically have had great experiences until 08/03, apparently if you leave your car for a tire change rather than waiting inside you'll be skipped over in line for people that came after you. Dropped my car off for a tire change at 9am and came back nearly 3 hours later, everyone that came after me was already gone with their cars and all the customers with new faces getting their keys back already while my car was still in the same spot I parked it with a spare on. Once I get there that's when the technicians start running to my car to change the tire quickly making me have to wait even more time. went to go get Tires and I was going between Firestone and Discount and Discount would not grant me my warranty and then finally said they'll match Firestones price and after going back-and-forth, I bought my tires with Discount against my better judgment. I did not add the warranty this time knowing next time I get tires I'm just going to Firestone, however with my tires being from Discount, I went in for one of my routine balance and the employee chose to tell me that I need new tires and it would cost me $1000. I went to Firestone. Firestone told me they still look almost new and I do not need tires. I will not be using discount tires for my tires anymore since they don't make commissions, they must get some kind of bonus to sell you tires that you don't need and take away your warranties very very disappointed in discount tire. Came in Saturday for new tires after a blowout on the freeway. Sebastian helped us and we got our new tires o. The same day. The entire experience was better than I expected. We were in and out of there in less than 1.5 hours which was the best tire experience I ever had. The price was reasonable too. We chose discount tire because of the founder's philanthropic work with the Arizona burn center which is something I am also passionate about. Oh wow!! This tire shop prevented us from a possible terrible car accident. We noticed our low tire pressure light was on, and my husband saw something protruding from tire. Selena from Discount Tire helped us IMMEDIATELY , checking the tire for leaks. She told us the tire could probably be repaired, but they also wanted to rotate the tires. Upon doing so, Luke and Jose had us come to the work area, and showed us that we had a severely damaged tire ( one if their tires- Still under warranty) that could easily have blown out. The bad tire was replaced for free and the repair cost $17.00. We are SOOOO grateful and we will be customers for life read more

Tires and wheels are never cheap when you want good quality, so if your writing a review about how expensive they are, just remember cool stuff isn't cheap, and cheap stuff isn't cool. Also, this location is really clean compared to other Tire shops. Edit** This location is extremely busy. So make an appointment or DON'T be LAZY, and get to the store before it opens so they can check your vehicle in before it really does get busy. People get mad because of the time the job requires to complete the vehicle, but safety is a priority. This isn't fast food, it's your vehicle and the safety of you and everyone on the road with YOU! i had to buy a new tire. Thye found one that fit, put it on my wheel and then threw it in the back of my car. They had left the spare tire on my car, instead of putting the new one on. so I brought it up before I left, someone told me I was going to have to wait an hour for them to get my car back in to change the tire. Before I could ask for a manager a woman heard and saw what was going on, took my keys and pulled the car into the bay herself. She then changed the tire for me, so I only had to wait the 25 minutes or whatever for her to put my new tire on. I then spoke to her and the manager. praised her, then told the manager be thankful I'm not someone who will flip out over things. I gotta tell ya... I take really good care of my truck. Anytime something arises that involves me taking it somewhere just worries the heck outta me. Are they going to put their grubby little hands all over my freshly detailed paint? Are they going to drop the transmission when all I needed was a tire rotation? Are they going sell me a lifetime supply of Rice-A-Roni with the purchase of a set of new tires? ...these are things that just stress me out. 4 weeks ago, the TPMS sesor on my truck went off. Low tire pressure on passenger side rear tire. Oh great. Something has gone awry. So I stop at a Quik Trip after work, put air in the tire, bring it back up to normal and head home. Fast forward to this past Monday (4 weeks later) and the TPMS sensor goes off again. Oh great. That solidifies the fact that this is no fluke. Something is up. So I do a search for tire repair close to the proximity of where I am and voila! DISCOUNT TIRE. I got to make an appt. online which is nice because overall, I don't like to talk to people if I don't have to. I'm not anti-social, but I talk to people all day long at work and the last thing I wanna do when I get home is pick up the phone and talk to more people. So I make an appt. online at their appt. and get an e-mail confirmation. How fricken cool is that? Easy peezy. I get to the store this afternoon and I'm immediately greeted which is a good sign. Izzy takes a walk with me outside to look at my truck, I explain the situation, he explains what they're going to do - all is good. I hit the waiting room which is enormous with plenty of ample seating. You're not right on top of one another and it's super clean, too. I did have to wait about an hour which wasn't too shabby as far as I'm concerned. They pulled my truck into the garage bay and discovered a screw embedded in the tire. Once they yanked it out, thankfully, it was capable of being repaired. Yayyyyyyy!!! They plugged the small hole which was causing my super s-l-o-w leak in this tire. They let me know my truck is ready, I go up to the counter and guess what... it's fricken free of charge! I make an appt. online, I don't talk to anyone, they pull my truck back, repair the tire and it costs me zero dollars? Tell me what other local business does this. Go ahead. I'll wait. Tell me. Times up. I'll give you a clue. ** THERE ARE NONE! ** I will absolutely NOT hesitate to recommend DISCOUNT TIRE to all of my family, friends and fellow Yelp'ers! I will be back for sure for all my tire needs. They were so friendly, so professional, so courteous and they did so quickly! These guys allways take of of me when ever I'm in. They are all so sweet and understanding. Roughly 3 months ago I bought 4 new tires from these guys and unfortunately I noticed that one of them started to form a bubble on the side wall, it was so small I almost didn't see it. I came in today during my break and they were able to get me in and out and replace the tire for me in less then an hour. These guys are genuinely amazing. The staff and manager are attentive, compassionate, efficient, and provide status updates when needed. Having made this my local Discount and visited multiple times I would recommend this location and chain. Keep in mind appointments are best for scheduling most services and due to their quartet are a popping business. Tire work and vehicle respect are great here! Came here two weeks in a row...what bad luck with tires lately. Both times the tires blew out. And changing tires is not easy! Especially with big tires. This location is clean, well kept, not much clutter. Each time the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and attentive. Very professional people here. This also have to be the fastest Discount Tire in the valley. Both times I was in and out quite quick. The loo was okay, it needed to be picked up, and the toilet paper was quite low. Other than that, a good loo with a slightly more powerful toilet compared to common house toilet. Fortunately for me both times I didn't have to pay for the tires because of the certificates I get when I bought tires from them previously. All I had to do is pay a small fee. So if they try to sell you a certificate, get it, it'll save you an arm and a leg. Overall an excellent experience, and this will definitely be my go to Discount Tire! read more

Waiting in line for almost 45min just to have air put in my tires. This is absolutely ridiculous. They are so slow when it comes to this.

Everyone is very friendly, but you're looking at a long wait. Even after scheduling an appointment you're still looking at an hour wait before they actually take your car to be worked on. So if possible I don't recommend sitting and waiting. A 45min job ends up turning into 2 hours. And that's after waiting in a long line for a consultation just to make the appointment to come back. I went to Discount today because I had a flat. Ran over a screw. After waiting for over an hour to get my car into the bay, which they told that was the waiting time, I was cool with that. I wasn't cool with was they told me I had only TWO lug nuts on my front passenger tire after they changed it out for new tires. At first, I was surprised because I would have notice shakiness if I drove. Then it dawn on me after I left, that they broke one of my stud and stripped two others but told me that I came in with only two lug nuts on front passenger tire. Never coming back to this place. Been a love and hate relationship with my tires --- not the fault with Discount tire. Initially had a bad wheel which caused a disruption to our weekend getaway to California. Thankfully, DT is a national chain and their locations in California was able to give me options to get back home safely. Second, time had a tire blow out on the 101 was able to get AAA to place the spare and return to DT for the road hazard replacement. Third, had a set wear out prematurely 60k warranty bad tire at 12k-- replaced with different brand at prorated price. The bigger SUV = tire eaters -- but wife and family loves them. Had considered other tire shops-- cosxxx, tire rxxx, etc but DT always had more options, price, and they actually honor the "warranty/insurance" Our new car just had a full set placed with the road hazard guarantee and will continue to buy here. read more

This place is a joke and has consistently been a joke since they opened. Despite this location being, by far, the closest one to my house I avoid it at all costs. Today, yet another data point underscores this decision as my son had a low tire pressure warning that popped up on his new tires (less than 2 weeks old) and went to Discount on 91st and Northern. He was told there was a nail in the tire and the pressure was at 22 pounds, about 30% less than what it should be. Discount's response to my son? Make an appointment to come back and fix it. Discount completely disregarded the safety of my son at worst and set themselves up to pass blame to me on a possible blowout at best. For a company whose tagline is "Let's get you taken care of" how in the world is this taking care of a loyal customer who has 6 vehicles and has bought easily 15+ sets of tires from them over the years? This entire management team should be fired and the entire training program started over from the ground up. If I could give zero stars, I'm convinced that they ripped off my father. To break it down, he recently had a stroke which has affected his eyesight and his speech among other things. He was trying to fill his tires with air when he broke a valve stem. My husband drove to their house an hour away and took it to a place that was open on Sundays and they fixed the valve, but the tire pressure sensor was no longer working on that tire. Tech and my husband told my father that it wasn't necessary to get the sensor replaced, but if it bothered him, he could. The next day he took it to discount tire where they talked him into replacing ALL 4 tire sensors and buying 4 new tires!!!! There was no need for any off it except the ONE sensor. I had put in a call to the store/general manager and have yet to hear back. Nothing I can do about it now, since they've surely disposed of the replaced tires and so here I am, writing a bad review. They should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of the elderly. read more

Let's just say that this experience started off less than good. Ordered a tire 7/9. Called 7/10 to get an ETA and ensure it would be there for my appointment 7/18. Person over the phone said the tire was never ordered. Weird. No big deal, he said he would order it and call me back if there were any issues/delays, and we change the appointment to 7/17, which would work better for my schedule. Call again 7/14 just to be sure everything is good. Tire was never ordered. Uhhh what? So they order the tire, but can't be sure the tire will arrive by Friday 7/17. So I change my schedule around a bit. Tire arrived Friday evening but it's too late to go get it. They said be there first thing today (7/18) prior to opening and they'll get it done ASAP. So I arrive, and speak with Justin. He gets me to the desk and go grabs the tire... turns out it's the wrong one. Sounds like my kind of luck. I saw the correct tire was ordered, so it was clearly the fault of whoever shipped the tire, and not the store itself. At this point, I'm obviously a bit irritated as the tire was already late because it wasn't ordered, for whatever reason, and I had to move my schedule around just to arrive and the wrong tire be there. Luckily, Justin found the correct tire at a Tempe location, and contact somebody right there, telling them to bring the tire today with their shipment. Justin said that he'll call me as soon as the tire arrives and they'll get me "in and out super quick". I was a bit skeptical, but ok... I'll stay optimistic. Sure enough, I got a call at around 2:30 saying the tire arrived. I got there at 3pm and he greeted me up front and immediately had me pull the car in the bay. All done within about 30min. While that was happening, he was helping me at the desk and managed to get me a refund through the tire manufacturer warranty after it fell victim to debris/nails after less than 3k miles. So, while the process was definitely a bit frustrating and less than ideal, I give 5 stars to Justin for taking the initiative to go above and beyond and help me get everything fixed in an extremely timely manner, and getting me an extra $100 back into my pocket. I had to wait a day to write this post so I can calmly detail my experience. Don't get me wrong, I love Discount Tire. I've never had a problem with the Thunderbird location. Those guys are amazing! I would like to thank Rene for going out to the car and checking my tire and all. He provided excellent customer service. I first went to the Thunderbird location, drove on the 101 and got off at Northern (about 5 miles) to find another Discount Tire and came upon this location. My low tire signal would not reset so I knew something was wrong. I get to the free air check again and I tell the guy that I literally had just the Thunderbird location. I had asked them to put 32 psi in my front tires and 38 psi in the rear tires. This new guy checks the tires again and said "Yeah your front driver side tire was at 30 psi, I filled it up to 32". He then told me to come back later and check the tire. UMMMMMM...Why would I drive off into the sunset with my leaky tire if I was already there? Why would he advise that? I then circled the parking lot and no parking, so I just parked on the side of the building. It is Monday and it was really packed. I was told that the wait was 10-15 minutes. 3 hours later, YES 3 hours!!! There were people who were in line behind me who had their 4 tires replaced on their car that were out of there before me. I timed how long it took to check my "leaky" tire. I whole 15 minutes from the time they brought it into the garage, took the tire off and replaced the darn valve that was causing the leak. I would have appreciated a "hey we're sorry you've been waiting so long, we are working hard to get your car back there...", or maybe a TV screen that showed like a line up of where down the line my car was in getting into the garage, a smoke signal.
