Well, thank god I was able to get it to a local mechanic and when calling all my friends on who they would use, many of them cited the same place and it was Scott Repmans off Bell. Especially because I've got a diesel and I know they require a special touch. Well, not only was I expecting the bill to be much higher but I honestly wasn't expecting to get it back until Thursday or even Friday. Turns out it was a sensor for the accelerator and they had it ready for pickup on Monday by 3pm! It drives BETTER than even before the problems began and I now know where to take it for my tune-up and maintenance like oil changes. The parking lot was full and my passenger was happy with their service. I needed to replace my Wife's car AC cabin fan and radiator fan. I bought the parts at the dealer expecting to do the repair myself. After watching YouTube videos I decided someone with actual skill and experience needed to do the job. I made an appointment through Yelp. The repair took about three hours. I was happy when they called with the request to proceed after testing that they did not try to up sell me on other repairs, just I was right that the fan motors were bad. When I picked up the repaired car, they did have a list of issues and discussed the importance of repairing each. Most were just fine right now but watch for issues in the future. They did say there was a split hose from the engine air filter to the engine which needed replacing sooner than later. Since I do the routine maintenance on my cars at home they suggested buying a new hose and installing it myself. They were happy to do it but said that part was easy to replace. I also appreciate they returned the replaced parts without me asking. First repair and I'm impressed. I posted on an Uber driver facebook group about the company. One driver replied they don't go Cha-Ching when a female walks in. Everything about my first repair was transparent and fully discussed before the repair and when I picked up.

He said I needed a new engine and it would cost about $15.000. Mine you the car was a 2012 buick enclave maybe $2500 to $3.000 Maybe. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY SHOP OF CHOICE. It needed a heater hose. My son works near this shop. His car broke down (2006 Acura TL) due to overheating. He's 24 y.o…read more and I bought it for him when he obtained his nursing license. I had asked my son to get it towed to this location because it was right next to the hospital where he works. When the car was towed there, it was already closed. The next day, a guy by the name of Craig called me. He said he does not know why the car was there. I explained what happened over the phone as I do not live in that area. He then first said there will be a diagnostic fee over about $200 but I will get a discount as I am a AAA member. I reluctantly agreed as the rate for diagnose was pretty steep. I've seen shops charge maybe around $60-80 and I thought that was high. Now this shop charged $200 I thought to myself. My son had to drop off the keys and as soon as he did that, I got a call back from the shop. Not the same guy I spoke with but now a guy named Michael. Michael explained to me that the radiator and fans needs to be replaced. Head gasket was blown and likely need engine replacement. He went further to say that the engine would fail compression test and would likely return even if fixed so not worth keep putting money into it. I then asked him "Do you have picture of the blown head gasket you're speaking of?" He then said "No I do not" He then went on to say that he knows of someone who can salvage the car and would pay out few hundred dollars for it. He went further to say that on the condition that it has a clean title (in other words, no salvage or otherwise. Wait, why does it matter whether it's clean or not, if your friend is going to part it out??!!) Something in my inner voice told me to just say "I will think about it". I then immediately called my son. It seems that Michael had asserted similar problems about the car. So we chatted a bit and decided it would be better to get it towed to my house so we can get a better picture. So my son went to the shop before closing to pay the diagnostics fee and to get the key. He then called me saying "Michael" was rather upset that he went to pick up the car (amusingly). We both agreed that this guy Michael was shady. He knows of this friend that he used to have vehicles salvaged (red flag) for number years (those poor customers who got baited into his "doom and gloom"). He will take it and part it out (yikes). While we were talking, Michael kept saying he did not appreciate that I was insinuating a possible misinformation about the diagnosis. He then asked me "do you know how many years I've worked here?" That's not the issue. Though my fault that when I called, I got a bit heated but I later apologized. But even before I had finished talking, he said "this call is done" then hung up. I called back and apologetically asked if the diagnose was done by him. While asking him the question, I told him that if I had hung up on my customer just because the customer was upset, does not matter who's fault it was, I'd probably be fired on the spot. While I was speaking, he kept interrupting me so I had to keep saying "can I finish speaking then you can speak?" When I pressed him who had diagnosed the vehicle, whether it was him or Craig, he hesitatingly said it was a guy named Rodney. Then I asked him why I did not get a report of the diagnosis. To cut to the chase, he said he will scan the report and email it within 15minutes. Now it's been several hours on Saturday 5/9/2026 and still have not seen the report he had promised to send within 15 minutes or so. This all feels surreal as how can AAA do this to me and my son! 5/18 Update: Lakshmi Pal from AAA Customer Relations contacted me via BBB case ID 24844257. She's trying to spin it like a repair issue. Nope, it was the shop trying commit fraud of taking my son's Acura under false pretenses. Neither of us received official diagnostics report. 5/13 Update: After Zach's Garage of Tucson changed the thermostat and the radiator (see attached photos) it's now running smoother than ever before. By the way, I've reported this shop to AG of Arizona. I am now contemplating to press criminal charges against this shop. 5/12 Update: Still no report received. My trusted mechanic just called me saying it needs new radiator and thermostat ($639.23+$207.28, incl. labor), and he replaced them and now running perfect. Michael failed at his illicit attempt to commit fraud to a AAA member. BTW, to date, AAA never reached out to me about this. 5/11 Update: Michael still has not sent report. 5/10 Update: Car was towed back to our house. Car started up just fine, no smoke, or no weird smell. Seems to run very smoothly like a Honda engine should. I will get it checked out by my local "trusted mechanic" and update this review as soon as I have it. 5/9 Update: It is now 16:27 MST (Phoenix Time) Saturday, 5/9/2026, and business is closed (closes at 4PM on Saturday). I never did receive the report he had promised to email at around 8:15AM this morning.

I discovered my car had a dead battery on Sat, 8/26. I subsequently found out it was so dead it…read morecouldn't even be jumped, so I was going to need a tow to the dealer's or a mobile mechanic since I don't have the tools to DIY. The car's a '19 Volkswagen GTI with a battery management system that requires the computer to be updated / coded with info from the new battery using special diagnostic hardware and software...it's high maintenance. I started searching online for a mobile mechanic Sat evening, sending quote requests to 5 mechanics. One mechanic never responded, one said they'd respond but never did, and two said they couldn't provide service (because of aforementioned battery system complexity). Jake replied on Sun and within 18 hours of when I initially sent the requests, and was then in regular contact on Yelp and via phone the next day collecting and exchanging info. He gave a reasonable quote, which included the battery at cost and plus a range based on his hourly rate (including travel time and labor). Mon (8/28) evening Jake bought and installed the battery, but wasn't able to do the recoding because his main diagnostic tool had been sent out to get updated, and his backups weren't compatible with my car. He promised to return to do the coding at no extra charge. He returned on Wed only to find that the Volkswagen car group had been removed from his updated diagnostic tool. He immediately bought the necessary hardware and a corresponding software subscription. On Fri 9/1, he returned to my house, updated the computer system with the new battery's info, cleared any battery-related diagnostics errors, and checked all other diagnostics to ensure everything was functioning properly. I know this is a long review, but I wanted to emphasize that this was not your normal battery replacement. Despite the complexity and challenges, Jake honored his commitment, completed the job, and went above and beyond. He is personable, professional, communicative, thorough, as well as obviously very knowledgeable about his trade. His actions matched his words and promises, demonstrating that he is honest, fair, trustworthy, and just a "good guy." He is definitely the person you want working on your vehicle/s. He only requested that I pay for one of the technicians work to adjust my rear axle slightly (about $500) and that this was all for that other shop and nothing was being charged for himself. When I got my truck back that adjustment didn't do a thing to fix the issue. Then we both took the truck to another alignment shop and the technician there said he was positive the ball joints the previous mechanic installed were faulty or installed wrong. That alignment specialist specifically was adamant about the ball joints requiring to be replaced with stock ball joints and not aftermarket upgrades like they had done. I wanted to follow that specialist's recommendation but Jake said not to trust that specialist because he was, I quote, "a parts changer" and was just going to waste my money like the other mechanics and he said he wanted to do the job himself and not use that specialist to change the ball joints. When I kept hesitating to allow Jake to use aftermarket Ball joints he specifically told me that if those Dynatrack ball joints did not fix the issue, he would pay the the parts out of his pocket and replace them with OEM ball joints. So I went ahead and trusted him. The parts were replaced and he kept the truck for a week to drive around and wear the parts in because the wandering still wasn't going away. After that week he handed the truck back to me and the wandering was worse than ever. He also claimed that he wasn't charging me for the labor time he spent driving my truck to wear the parts in but that he would appreciate it if I would pay him $500 for the fuel he spent on it. This was prior to the diesel fuel spike so I figured it was still partially for his time because I myself can't spend $500 in a week in fuel towing with that truck daily. However not only was my truck still wandering very badly when he gave me the back but when I was hitching my trailer up to it a day or two later I realized that the brand new Banks tail assembly pipe that I had just installed on it a month ago was missing. When I called to ask about the pipe figuring they must have just somehow forgotten to put it back on he told me he would ask the other special technicians for it because they themselves never touched it or had it. Well he claimed that non of the other technicians from other shops would fess up to it so he would pay it out of his pocket and just forget about the $500 fuel charge he was charging me for. That brand new pipe cost me $550. At this point I had lost all trust. Now I started doing research on line on my own asking for help on social media on pages with people with the same trucks. I posted a video of the new track bar still flexing and they basically laughed at me accusing me of doing the improper work myself because the track bar was flexing due to it being installed UPSIDE DOWN. When I asked how I should fix it and that I paid someone to do it they gave me insertion how to fix it myself and told me to immediately fire that mechanic. Unfortunately it still didn't fix the wandering issue so I tried another local mechanic in town to try and hopefully fix the issue. That last mechanic basically shook his head and told me, and I quote "I feel sorry for you". I gave him the receipts of the work Jake had done and he told me I was basically being milked. This new mechanic took me into his shop while my truck was on the lift and showed me exactly what those new ball joints were doing to my wheels by trying to force the tires manually. He not only switched the ball joints for me fixing the wandering issue but he did it in half the time the Jake charged me for. Now if I was being purposely charged extra to be swindled or I was charged extra hours due to lack of experience, I will leave it up to the reader or the next unfortunate customer this happens to. Either way you look at it it still comes down to unethical practice since my work towing rig could inevitably cause harm to anyone in the vehicle as well as anyone around me on the road with the amount of horrible wandering and improperly installed parts it had. I have waited many weeks now for a response and for the promised reimbursement for improper installation and have not heard a word or response to my text message or voice message I left with his other shop technicians since now when I call he never happens to be available to talk. So at this point I don't expect any reimbursement for my loss. My only hope is that no one else receives the experience I have had and looses thousands in wasted money.

Well, I made the appt and within 2 hrs (From start of appt to brake pads changed) I was out the door and spent significantly less then I anticipated! I'm incredibly happy with their service and both the front desk employee and the mechanic were professional and never did I feel taken advantage of or any attempt by either to upsell. The man working at the front (I can't believe i didn't get his name!) said that he was retired but works 1-2 days per week at this location after working there from when they opened in the 90's. There was an older lady who came in due to car troubles and he treated her so kindly. She seemed overwhelmed and frazzled and he was so warm. I overheard that her husband was his customer for over 20 years and just passed away last month. I heard him speaking on the phone with customers and he was just kind. Anyways, I sent my friend the work order receipt and he was surprised at how affordable this was. He understands cars and was the one who was sure that it was worn out brake pads. I quickly drove my car down and sure enough by 2pm, I received a call from Dan letting me know it was an easy fix; thermostat, gasket, and coolant. He said he'd have it done and I could pick it up by closing time. I asked how much and it was very reasonably priced! Like they said, my car was ready by closing and my car is already back to normal. I'm a firm believer in supporting local over chain and namebrand locations, so this is perfect and very close to where I live. I was intrigued by the coupon that was on the flyer I received in the mail. I called to schedule an appointment and got in the next day. The parking lot where this location is at is very small and crowded, and it's right next to Midas, so there was nowhere to park when I pulled into the parking lot. I had to park in a slot that was reserved for another business, but there was nowhere else to go. This was annoying. I walked into the lobby and there were two people sitting there, the girl asked how she could help me and I told her that I had an appointment for an oil change. She said, can I have your key? Once I handed it to her, she said it will be about an hour. She didn't ask me if I had any concerns, or explain what was included in the oil change, if I wanted recommendations, if there was anything extra. She didn't tell me where to wait or if I was leaving or staying. I walked outside and next-door to find a little area for waiting. The waiting area has a small couch, a couple of chairs, a water cooler, bathrooms, and a few vending machines. She walked back to grab me about 40 minutes later. I walked in to pay, and asked her if I could use the coupon. She said that the price that I was paying is already at the coupon price. And I said oh OK, I was just confused about why the coupon was in the mail if the coupon price is also, what's available in the store. Both people at the desk just stared at me and didn't say anything. So I paid, and left. This was a very underwhelming visit, and they did not have good customer service. I'm really disappointed and surprised in this because all of the reviews here indicate the exact opposite. I have no idea what they did to my car, what they checked, or anything else for that matter. I'm very proud to support local, but if a chain is going to provide better customer service with comparable prices, it doesn't leave you much of an option.
