I've taken my dodge ram in here twice now. The first time, I mentioned to them that my hubcaps need to be on all the way or they'll rattle while I'm driving. Well they led into one of my hubcaps falling off after I left! Then my fiancé brought my truck in today for a tire rotation. Had an appt scheduled for 10:15 am, he was running a few minutes behind and called discount to let him know he was running late, then they said "no problem, see you soon". It was very busy, there were about 5 people in line ahead of me, but the guys working the front were speedy. When I explained the situation, they found the correct tire from our previous purchases, and gave us credit for the remaining life of the tire, then put a new tire on our wheel in record time. Totally lost trust in discount tire. Seems like it has really gone down hill since owner passed away. Customer service nothing like what it once was. Discount was my go to place for 25 yrs and never used a different tire store. I may use them in a emergency situation but no longer trust them. In the past they would always do flat repair for free. The last time i had a new car tires not purchased there and they treated me like dirt. A emergency situation i had no choice and they charged me dearly. They damaged expensive wheels the time before because they refused to listen they were reverse mount wheels. They really struggled so i took them home and hand mounted with little effort. However, when I stopped in the Bell Road & Cave Creek location to get the other two tires replaced, the level of service impressed me. It was fairly busy but I was greeted right away. Mark was extremely friendly and inspected the two tires immediately. Fortunately, they had the right size in the same brand of tire that was put on last time. I love my new Pirelli's (sorry Michelin)! The bottom line is, Discount Tire offers a very good deal on performance tires and there are no hassles or nonsense. I called the night before and spoke to Johnny, we talked about my different tire options, was quoted a GREAT price and made an appointment for the following morning. Upon entering the store I met Johnny, he examined my tires and finalized the sale. This was the same pricing he quoted over the phone without any hidden fees that some of their competitors charge. He said installation time would be 35 minutes and again he was dead on. My biggest pet peeve is when a company lies to you to try and get you in the door. This is NOT Discount, these guys are honest and take care of their customers. First time we used this location we needed to check on a tire that appeared to have a piece of metal in it, however, it was easily removed from the wheel frame and no tire damage was done. They checked all the remaining tires and we left without charge. The second visit was for a flat my fiancee walked out to on his car after leaving work. He had managed to get a spare put on, but I made an appointment here to get a replacement. The old tire was not fixable, and that was expected since the hole was very obvious and patching it didn't seem like it would work before we even brought it in. His car was taken to be worked on about 10 minutes after I arrived (I was early to my appt) and I left within a half hour. I highly recommend using their online appointment option, which is really easy to do by phone or computer! The tech that checked me in and also the one that finished up when the car was ready were both very friendly and answered any questions I had. Both my left side tires got shredded from running over a metal bar on the 101 near Tatum. Got towed to Discount Tire on Bell Road just west of Tatum. I decided I'd better get all 4 tires replaced. Mark was super, even though there were several folks in line behind me. It remained that busy the whole time I was there. They didn't have my tire in stock but Mark gave me 3 options, and went back to check his inventory to make sure he had 4 of the brand I chose before proceeding. I asked them to reset my tire inflation sensors when they finished. Even though it was jammed with business, the techs checked my tire sensors and found one that was not working. One of my vehicles has a fairly unusual driving history. It is a 2003 (purchased in 2002) which right now puts it at almost 15 years old yet it only has 123k miles on it, most of that from a couple of cross-country trips. I bought new tires at Discount Tire in North Scottsdale in 2011, almost 4 years ago and have only put 18k miles on them, again from a few long trips. Somehow they recently picked up not one but two nails, resulting in a slow leak. I took it in to the Bell Road location (my first time at this location) expecting the stereotypical runaround about how "old" the tires are and that two nails constitutes "abuse", etc. That's what we're conditioned to hear at tire stores, right? Not here. Despite being a walk-in Mike estimated my wait time to be about an hour. That gave me a chance to observe a few things. How unlike a tire store this looked. I mean clean! Spotlessly clean. How clean the employees were dressed, even those who were actually working on tires in the desert heat. And how every customer was greeted, not with a "whaddyaneed" but with a friendly greeting as they entered the store. A few, obviously regular customers, were even greeted by name! There was no run-around, no hassle, no winks at each other. Shortly after an hour (and I realize there were people there ahead of me, so I was impressed that they stuck to their verbal estimate) one of the guys named Ken said "you're ready to go". No charge. Nada. Zip. And I even got a bottle of cold water while I was waiting. Anyone reading this who works in any kind of service business, listen up and take a hint. THIS is how you treat customers so they come back often enough that the employees know them by name. Once again I am requesting that Yelp change their policies to allow an occasional 10 rating when a business really deserves it. read more

I went to get a new spare tire put together. I made an appointment online a few days prior and got in when it was convenient for me. It always pays off to make an appointment, as your car will be done much quicker than coming in as a walk-in without an appointment. I was told it would be a half hour or so since I had booked an appointment. Unfortunately for me, when they opened the box for the part needed for my tire, it contained the wrong part. My lunch hour was winding down at this point plus I had already paid. At this point I thought I was going to be told the part would have to be ordered and I needed to come back another day. However, staff quickly rectified the situation and called ahead to another one of their stores ten minutes away that had the necessary part. I drove straight there and was taken care of immediately and was on my way in around ten minutes or so. They gave us an estimate of cost and time and the timing was right on . Every employee that walked by made eye contact with us and acknowledged us. We popped in on Saturday morning right when they opened up and were one of the first people to get taken care of (there ended up being quite a few people coming in at opening time!) which was great. They quoted us a different price than what was online, but we had it printed out and they said they would honor it. Then, being the crazy people we are, Husband called another company who said they'd beat Discount's price. We turned around and asked Discount to beat it and, after much thought and computer typing, the dude said he would! BOOM. PRICE DROP. Walked over to Savers, browsed for a short while, walked back, CAR DONE. Check it. Four tires that don't squeak and aren't down to their nubs for a not-ridiculous price. Simply amazed! I took my car in for a piece of metal stuck in one of my tires near the sidewall. The service tech checked the tire and was able to remove the metal without much resistance and asked that I pull the car into the garage to do a quick air check to ensure that it hadn't punctured the tire wall. Luckily, the metal didn't damage the tire and all was well. I asked the tech if I should now go inside and pay for the service, and they said that there would be no charge since there wasn't any need for work on the tire itself.
