I visited this Discount Tire location on Jan 19, 2026 to fix an issue with my tire: a stuck nail. After the terrible experience at the Wake Forest location (on 11212 Capital Blvd) that was a walk-in, I decided to make an appointment for this visit... the first time I had to do so. Discount Tire's Journey Tracker app actually worked properly this time around (it didn't work at all at Wake Forest). I used it to notify that I was on the way, and of my arrival after I parked at the designated lot. It was about five minutes before the appointment time when I arrived. Despite the day being a public holiday (Martin Luther King, Jr.), the wait time was a fraction of the 5-minute I had suffered at Wake Forest. After the staff member looked at my car, he determined that the tire had to be replaced. Since I didn't purchase a warranty, I paid full price for the replacement. Unlike at Wake Forest, the staff member told me approximately what time the my car would be ready for pickup, and that the technicians worked on my car almost immediately (Wake Forest didn't get to it until almost four hours later). Journey Tracker was updated to show 1) time window of my arrival and 2) estimated completion time. The text message on my phone showed the check-in time of 3:19pm. Like at Wake Forest, 4400 Fayetteville has three bays; unlike at Wake Forest, 4400 Fayetteville were operating three service areas full-time in their bays during the entire time I was there. The waiting area was less than half-full. l returned almost an hour later but didn't wait long to pick up my car. The text message notified me at 4:12pm that it was ready. That was the time that I got into my car and left. Total wait time was less than an hour. Why did I choose 4400 Fayetteville? Because they had appointments available the next day while all the other locations didn't. I was expecting similar crappy services that I had at Wake Forest, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't the case. It restored my confidence in Discount Tire and reaffirmed that not all of their locations are the same. Even though 4400 Fayetteville is out of the way for me, I will consider going back here for future services. read more

BEWARE they would not honor the free tire rotation and balance for a car that passed safety inspection 24HR AGO. That's right, car passed inspection yesterday and tires were noted as PASSED on the inspection report. I noticed the front tires were wearing quicker than the rear and remembered that Discount provides 'free' tire rotation and balancing for tires purchased and installed by them. I made an appointment and spent an hour of my day driving out there for them to take pictures and readings of my tires/car/license plate, only to bring me inside and tell me they won't do it because the tread is low on the front tires. Again, this tread depth was good enough for the state of North Carolina to deem safe, but not good enough for Discount to rotate the tires?!? COMPLETE LAZY GARBAGE!! Simple as that. The 'free' service is simply a ploy to get you back in the shop so they can sell you more tires. I had been a loyal Discount Tire customer for over a decade, but will never step foot in another location again. The manager I spoke with had no qualms about losing my business, and in fact smirked and chuckled when I expressed my frustration. Now I have to do it myself in the garage with sweltering heat and no air gun. Thanks Discount!! Too many tire shops to deal with this level of incompetence. Go elsewhere. Had no complaints, but others were not happy. Made a 1045 appointment, day of, 0800. Arrived early 1010. Nail in my tire. No where else to be. Found out that the tire couldn't be repaired and my tread was due for a new set. Was shown options, picked, and the waiting began. They provide a digital tracker. Appointments are an hour window. Thing is, replacing only takes 15 minutes. This led to a lot of people at the 45-50 min mark becoming unhappy. Not me. They said an hour. Was an hour. From 1045. Support this business. I brought my car just to get the tires replaced and I get the car back with scratches on my door and my car won't read the psi. Later on my tire pressure light is blinking saying malfunction vist dealer. Come to find out after they replaced the tires the light appeared and they cleared the code. Now they are telling me it's an internal issue with the car's computer. So now my car has a computer problem from replacing the tires? Also they scratched all my rims because they can't seem to comprehend how to use an impact to take off some lung nuts. read more

My car was taken in at 8:20am and four new Michelin tires were installed and my car delivered back to me at 8:45am with tires cleaned and tire blacking applied. Priced check several tire stores and my car manufacturer who was advertising $150 off a set of four tires and Discount Tire was the most competitive. I've always preferred Discount Tirre and almost counted them out because of bad service at another location. I stand by Michelin Tires for my Toyota Vehicle. That's all I know. The durability, safety, and performance are top-tier. Especially on rainy days. I also purchased them from a Discount Tire location (St. Charles Place Cary). After going back and forth with another location (St. Charles Place Cary ) and even trying other local tire providers for quotes. I finally decided to come to this Fayetteville Rd location. This location immediately provided me with feedback that made sense to me. I was immediately provided the thread life adjustment for the old tires because the tire tread expired before the tread life/mileage warranty was reached. I drove away with my new Michelin tires at a reasonable price. I did end up buying lug nuts too, apparently, the cap swelled and was too big for the lug wrench the rep showed me. I meant to ask for my old ones and I thought something extra came with the lug purchase. I left before questioning this. You have to stay on top of these places or you may get swindled. We were on a long trip & I started hearing a scraping sound. I knew something was scraping up against the tire. I stood in line while the employees were helping other people. As soon as they finished with the people they had been helping, they started helping me. The guy came outside to look at my car. Another guy, Johnny, came up to help & he figured out what was happening right away! He said I needed a clip because one had popped out. They don't carry those at Discount Tire & I'm sure that this repair is a little outside of what they normally do. He mentioned going to Auto Zone, but then he told us to wait a minute. He went to his toolbox that he had in his car & got the exact clip we needed & came & popped it in! I am so grateful to Johnny for going the extra mile! Discount Tire across the country has a culture of really helping people. Their warranty on the tires you buy from them is worth its weight in gold! Took our Jeep here yesterday to check the front tire as the sensor indicated only 16psi. I did not have an appointment, but nevertheless the customer service guy came out to my car and looked at the tire that my husband had taken off and had put on the spare. There were no obvious screws or nails visible in the tire. After just waiting 45 minutes, my tire was repaired (there had been a small hole) and there was no charge for the service. They also put my spare tire back in the compartment in my trunk. Everyone here is very helpful at this Discount Tire location in Garner. Purchased wheels over the phone speaking with John which had to be ordered from Charlotte. He let me know they'd be in this week. Went today and the wheels unfortunately weren't going to be a good match up with my car. Instead of being stuck with now wheels, John was super patient and took the time to find the perfect set of wheels for my car and his guys got them installed quickly. I brought it here and not only were the tires a better deal so I could swing the $$ to replace them as a pair, they took a look to see if they could fix it first. Turns out they were able to fix it and sent me on my way! Everyone I interacted with was kind and helpful (and wore their masks!), and I wish I had mentally noted their names to give them a proper shout out. I love this Discount Tire location!! Cappuccino is the best salesman ever! I stopped in here last Friday to buy a set of tires for my car. I asked my boyfriend to meet me up here because I didn't want to get swindled (LOL), but I didn't need to worry about that with Cappuccino helping us. We explained that I needed a really good set of tires for driving back and forth to the Detroit area, and Cappuccino recommended the Continental tires. Visited this location on 6/28/19 to get 4 new tires that I had ordered online. When I came in, the place was packed! Once I got to the counter and gave my name and appointment time, they moved my service right to the top of the list ahead of all the walk-ins. The shop is a model of efficiency and there were no fewer than 2 techs working on my car at any given time. It was a warm morning and the techs were offering bottles of water to each other to ensure hydration levels were good. The vibe at this place is energetic, courteous, and customer focused. 1. New snow tires and wheels purchased from DT. They did not keep track of were the removed tires/wheels had been mounted. They did not mark those tires to make it easier to rotation when they need to go back on. They also did not KNOW that they should have kept track of that. 2. When I came back in late spring to get their tires off, and my other tires on... they refused to do that, because the wear was past their policy, but not unsafe, and not beyond the wear bars, and not "too old". 3. The following spring, when it was again time to rotate their snow tires off, they put my spring/summer tires on incorrectly. One Front tire had been put back on the front, and the other was put on the back... instead of putting the least worn tires in front, and the most worn in back (Rav 4 AWD). The do not seem to understand tires, and if I don't catch their errors my summer tire warranty will be voided. Very unprofessional. Tires... are not that complicated folks. Rotation of tires is a critical part of getting their lifespan of use, and keeping the warranty up to date. They made the same mistake twice, and the error appears to be a systemic problem. I want to mention one incident that occurred a few months ago. My son had a flat due to running his tires nearly bald. He put the spare on. I sent him to Discount Tire to buy a new set of 4 tires and all seemed well until I looked in his trunk and saw the flat tire still in the trunk (same rim as all the others). I had expected them to make sure the spare got put back but I guess it got overlooked. I returned several weeks later but they no longer had my spare in their possession. I left the flat tire/rim with them. After a week I received a call to let me know they put a spare tire on the rim. Wow, the tire looks brand new!
