AWARENESS: After arriving at our camp site in South Dakota (1350 miles), and checking out the tires on my truck, I noticed my rear tires were balled in the center. Knowing I couldn't travel, especially pulling a 15,000 pound 5th on the worn tires, I turned to my trusty Yelp app for a trusted tire center nearby. Discount Tire in Rapid City turned out to be greatest choice. NARRATIVE: In June of 2022, after arriving at our camp site home in Spearfish SD, I did my normally after arrival RV and truck checklist. During my trucks inspection, I noticed my rear tires were bald in the center of each tire. Knowing I couldn't tow my 5th wheel too far on the worn tires, I opened my yelp app and checked the reviews for a dependable tire shop nearby. Discount Tire, which way about an hour away in Rapid City came up with lots of positive reviews so, I gave them a call. When I called and gave the service person the information about my trucks tire, I was told the Toyo Tires, which I had on my truck were out of stock and because of the larger rims on my truck, they would have to special order those tires if I wanted the same brand to replace the old. Because of the 4th of July holiday (store closure), the time frame didn't work out so, I asked for a good and comparable alternative tire. After giving the okay to order the new tires, I was scheduled for service a few days later. SCENE: Discount Tire is located in Rapid City, right off the I90 freeway. The shop is clean and tidy. The restrooms are clean and there is ample seating inside. The shop offers free wifi and, if your military, they offer a huge discount on installation and service. RECOMMENDATION(S): Discount Tire is an affiliate of American Tire. If you have issues with your tires, your warranty is good at either location. The service department are all true professionals. Because they were so good to me; Its probably one of the few times in life I didn't mind dropping 1K on a product and serivce. ** Discount Tire offers a military discount. When you're on day 4 of an extended road trip and you see the "Low Tire Pressure" light, it's a relief to find the same excellent service you're used to back home. My wife and I pulled in at 5:30 on a Friday afternoon. Everbody we dealt with was friendly and helpful. An hour later (and 30 minutes after their closing time), we left for our hotel with the tire fixed and minus a three-inch screw. Since I had bought my tires just 9 months ago at my home store, the service was free. The Discount Tire guys are THE BEST! We stopped in midway through a multi-state trip after discovering a low tire on our Airstream trailer. My husband called a couple days prior to get an appointment and check logistics--not every parking lot can accommodate a vehicle setup this long. They were nice on the phone and, yes, we were able to fit our big trailer and truck in their parking lot. En route to the Badlands, we were hoping it wouldn't take long. They estimated a reasonable hour-long wait. Big surprise--30 minutes and done. Our tire had a puncture they found and we had a warranty so we ended up with a new tire. We're not buying tires anywhere else because we can usually find Discount Tire/America's tire to properly handle this stuff just about anywhere we go. And they do a good job. Needed a tire repaired which was already off the vehicle as pressure was too low. Came in at 1145 am was told tire would be done at 115pm. Was told they would put repaired tire on vehicle watched them shove my spare back into compartment. Which it easily goes into with little effort. It took 10 minutes after finished to get car out of garage. Several employees messing around and talking with other people. Got car and they didn't reset the tire pressure monitor which needs a special tool to reset. Was told to come back if it doesn't reset itself. It will not read more

UPDATE: We were contacted by our Discount Tire Store and they proposed a solution that will hopefully solve our problem. Will update later. We have bought new tires at Discount Tire in Rapid City, for two vehicles. We recently bought new wheels for our pickup (ones they recommended) and it turned out the holes were too large in the middle. They refuse to take them back because they were mounted ( by them). What on earth are we supposed to do with these wheels that don't fit? We sure aren't buying any more! read more

I'm from out of town, here for a short vacation. Woke up to a flat tire at the hotel. Fortunately, I was able to fill it across the street. Drove to Discount Tire at 8am, hoping to be the 1st customer in the door. At 8:02, the place was already busy. I dealt with Brendon. I explained that I was on vacation and hoping to get my day started asap. He said that they were busy, but he would do what he could to get me in right away. He said that if it was a quick plug of the tire, he hoped to get me out the door by 9:00am. I was more than satisfied with that. At 8:35 I received a text that my car was ready. Corey brought my car out; they found a screw, plugged it, and rebalanced the tire. Obviously, the shop did the quick work, but I wanted to mention the great customer service provided by Brendon and Corey. I will be buying all of my tires from Discount Tire. In late October of 2020, I purchased four Grabber SUV studded snow tires for my Ford Expedition from Discount Tire in Rapid. They offered me a big come on to buy tires from them with two rebates, one for $100, one for $50 along with a no interest credit payment plan if paid in 6 months, via a credit card offer. I bit, and the total bill topped $1,000. While the tires were of high quality and the service provided by the individual shop was fairly satisfactory -- they had the tires on in under an hour -- the follow-ups and rebates absolutely sucked! I never received either rebate! One was supposedly nixed by their rebate processor because I supposedly didn't provide the right verification (receipt), which was pure hooey, because I followed their instructions to the letter. The other was approved but I still am waiting to see it, four freaking months later, well beyond the timeframe claimed by the rebate processor. Plus, there were quite a few add ons and extra fees charged simply to put the tires on, etc. I'd suggest anyone looking to buy tires go to a small, owner-owned tire shop instead of this national chain and you're likely to get better deals, explained straight up instead of cloaked in shell game add-ons and lies about rebates and how much it's actually going to cost you. read more

Long story short, they patched my tire for free even though I didn't get that tire from them(new car).
