Usually whenever a person of my stature (gay guy) HAS to come seek help in an auto place, I'm treated disrespectful and I always dread having to seek assistance for my auto needs in let's say an Autozone or O'Reileys or Walmart auto center, but the amount of respect that was shown to me for a simple tire pressure check at this Discount Tire was OUTSTANDING. Today I got two new tires. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service. There had been an issue at first, because they were out of stock on the tires they had originally sold me. They, however, said they would get them on the car within the next 45 minutes. We hadn't made an appointment, so their ability to handle my car within a relatively short amount of time was awesome. Especially considering how busy they were at the time. When I returned, they told me they had ended up putting on more expensive tires but did not charge me any extra. The staff can be overwhelmed at times, but it is a busy hopping place, so I'm more understanding. But when able to they do go put of their way to help. They special order tires if not in stock, and call when they come in. Construction has brought me to this place too many times lately. Lol. They do try and fix the flat without having you buy a new one, unless like mine today which was shredded. For a busy location such as this, the customer turn over is quick. Update: Received a callback from Garth saying they had reviewed my situation and offered to refund the purchase price of one of my new tires to make up for the warranty issue with my original tires. This seems like a fair resolution to me so I am revising my rating from 2-stars to 4-stars. If they had done this in the first place it would have been a 5-star review. Original review: Came in for replacement tires for a set that I bought there that were rated for 70K and I got less than 40K out of them. Although nothing on the original receipt said that the warranty was only good for six years, they refused to honor it because it was three weeks over. Not cool at all. They also said they weren't busy and it wouldn't take long. They did not even start working on it until an hour later. In hindsight I should've taken my business else where. They seem to look for anyway to get out of honoring warranty. read more

I arrived at 7:55 and they let me and an older gentleman in bc it was drizzling. I was expecting to have to wait until they officially opened at 8 AM but NOPE! They helped me right away. I knew I had two bad tires and a bad wheel. I was also a bit unsure about whether or not I should replace a third tire but didn't say so. The service technician came out to the lobby and explained the tests and recommended that I replace that third tire. He said my fourth tire was going strong. I appreciated the honesty and told them to go ahead and replace it. Anyway the whole thing took only 30 minutes- from check-in to the moment my keys were returned. The team was very professional and polite. They warmly greeted each and every customer when they entered the store. It was an all-around satisfactory experience. Been having terrible luck lately having to put a new engine in my car. Just had a nail in my tire a few weeks ago that they fixed very quickly at no charge. I wouldn't ever come here again, took them two weeks to get the right tire. Still have the wrong hubcap on my car because they gave me a used tire instead of a new one. Came back after a couple of days to see if the right tire came in - they ordered the wrong one. Currently driving without a rim either. I went here last week because I needed to replace my 2 front tires. I got a price match on Tirerack.com for the tires I needed. The employee that helped me made it seem like he was going to charge me for the shipping cost. (He clearly did not communicate properly) But we finally cleared the air because I asked why it would be a "price-match" if he was going to charge me more. Anyways, I get the tires replaced, and as I am driving I noticed that my tire pressure light is on. So I go back the next day and speak to the same employee who tells me to go to the air check line and they will check it out. When I got there, all he did was check my air and said to drive it and it will go away. That's fine, but since it didn't go away I went back AGAIN on Wednesday to make sure they found a solution and got the light turned off. When I got there another employee noticed me from the day before and said to have the guy in the air check lane reset my light and I should be good to go...nope. Instead I get a guy that cares more about getting my number and flirting with me rather than actually trying to help me!! I told him that I am not leaving until this light goes off because it turned on AFTER they worked on it. I asked to speak to a manager but since he was on "lunch" someone else came by and reset my light by pressing the button in my glove compartment. I drove off, and what do you know - it came back on...I was planning to go back the next day but my boyfriend recommended I go to a different location because these guys clearly didn't care to help me. Someone could have at least went into more dept of trying to help me by trying to figure out why the light way on in the first place instead of constantly telling me they can't because my tires don't have sensors. I get that but then why would the light turn on then? I was frustrated... I am glad I did not go back because I went to the one off of 1960 near Willowbrook mall and they were able to help me find a solution - my light is finally off! I was headed to work and didn't think I'd have the extra time. He talked to a couple of other mechanics to see if they had time for me and made sure I was serviced at that exact moment. There is an area outside where you can get your tire pressure checked and inflated to the proper PSI. Generally the service at this location is exceptional. However, the last two times I went to utilize the service there was no one available. After waiting several minutes I actually called inside and they sent someone out. Recently bought two new front tires at woodlands location and turns out one had a nail in it after a week. No biggie,it happens. They didn't have the tire so put on the spare until it arrived and I did have roadside coverage. When returned, was given old tire still on rim and new tire unmounted. Seriously?? Isn't it their job to put it on? Returned and was forced to pay another road hazard fee and wouldn't even mount the wheel on the car. Absolutely crazy! Finally mounted it, left cap off and in trunk and left trunk a disaster. Stay away from this location. Being one that knows very little about cars and tires (I'm working on my car knowledge), the staff always goes out of their way to make sure you are aware of your options and I never feel like any shady business is going on like some places can make you feel. When I got out of the car and pushed my flat tire up to the store, an associate met me before I even got to the door and asked me if I needed help. He looked at the tire and saw the hole and said that they will get me fixed up. He asked me if I had ever been there before, and I told him that I had not. They were pretty busy, but he said it would be 35-45 minutes and I said I could wait for it. 40 minutes later he came back and said that I was good to go, the tire was repaired and my spare was put back into it's storage spot. They did not charge me a dime and made me feel very comfortable about my experience from start to finish. I will definitely go back to this Discount Tire when it is time for new tires! read more

Reasonable selection, hit or miss service but I reckon it's usually due to an unusually high volume of walk-in customers, but mostly quick service. Brought in 4 tires that I bought from Discount Tire Direct for mount & balance (they didn't carry the type I wanted in the store). They installed the tires quickly and for a good price and didn't scratch up my wheels, but I wasn't completely satisfied for the following reasons: 1) They didn't remove the old double stick tape from the wheels when adding new weights. (I'd suggest removing old stick-on weights yourself before bringing the car in.) 2) They under-inflated one tire (other 3 were perfect). 3) They slightly under-torqued 2 wheels (other 2 were perfect). They also got some brown gunk on my wheels that was difficult to scrub off (par for the course though). And oddly, they kept calling me and another customer by the wrong name (our phone numbers and receipts somehow were associated with other people). read more

I've been going to this Discount tire for over four years already and I've never had a bad experience. The staff definitely knows how to treat their customers. They aren't over the top and fake either. They treat people pretty much how they would want to be treated themselves. They'll get to you before you can even get inside the store and start getting all of your vehicle info right away. The longest I've ever waited here was about an hour and a half, and that was on a crowded day without an appointment.
